The 8 pin CPU power cable doesn't fit because of the radiator. How can I fix this? Can I just cut off the locking clip of the 8 pin cable?

Assembly Help

I had a similar issue. I just used my fans as pushers instead, installed them last, had just enough room.

The locking tab does nothing but secure your connection. You can take the chance on cutting it off and/or use some tape on the sides to add a bit more security.

Unfortunately I can't mount the fans on the bottom side instead, as the radiator doesn't fit at the top. Currently I'm thinking the best solution would be to just trim away a piece of the radiator to make clearance for the connector. But that would be a last resort.

UPDATE

Thanks for all the responses! I kinda expected you to tell me to just cut the radiator TBH. I didn't feel very comfortable cutting the plastic lock of a 5$ cable, so instead I went ahead and dremeled out a bit of the 150$ AiO :D

It worked out surprisingly well, I filed the edges at the end and applied some touch up paint to the raw aluminium. Here's the result:

You can cut the locking tab on those connectors. The one on my 24 pin snapped off and it's been fine

Yes you can safely cut the tab it should still be firm enough, just make sure you don't pull on the cables when you do maintenance and double check before closing everything.

It's an ATX case from MSI, I don't remember the exact name. It's certainly not a SFF case, but I thought it's a SFF problem :D

I think cutting your connector although not a great idea, might be the easiest solution.

Cutting the clip is working fine in my newest build. Maybe you would want to add a tiny dot of hot glue to secure ist in place, but that depends on your preference.
