Passive
Baruuk's tolerance for violence wanes as his hand is forced by his foes. Restraint is a resource unique to Baruuk that provides up to 50% Damage Reduction when the meter is completely depleted.
- Restraint meter is displayed in the lower-right on the HUD, above the ability icons.
- Restraint meter starts fully filled, and is depleted using Baruuk's abilities:

Elude erodes 1.2% from the meter. - Each enemy affected by
Lull erodes 0.8% from the meter. - Each enemy disarmed by
Desolate Hands erodes 1.6% from the meter.

Serene Storm utilizes Restraint instead of Energy to cast and maintain. Using this ability refills Restraint meter by 4% on activation and by 0.8% per second until the ability is deactivated.
- Restraint can still erode from using Baruuk's other abilities during this ability.

Those were fanart shown in official Devstream or Prime Time. I guess there is some "officiality" being promoted by the devs but I'm not opposed to removing them.
That new status arcane would have been really dope on him, would remove the need to use reactive storm for the status chance.
Reactive storm does more then just status chance. It procs the specific status the enemy is weak too, so no it wouldn't remove the need for the mod. doing so would weaken the fundamental aspect of such a build, adaptation.

On paper changing between playstyles seems like a good idea but when the playstyles are "fun" and "not fun" it's a rollercoaster of emotions and i want to get off Mr Baruuk's Wild Ride
That is why some Tenno rather play with low duration, maximum range, just for the Lull, doesn't even need to worry about the Desolate Hands since it doesn't fire THAT fast like Nova balls, 18 daggers last a decent amount of time and you can recast it easily since they need that Fleeting Expertise
Desolate hands aren't used for damage output. shows you do not understand the ability or don't read. it's used for the 90% damage reduction, the disarming and damage out put it does is just icing. Low duration means you can spam lull true, but range is useless on Baruuk as it doesn't affect his abilities whatsoever. The ideal build for Baruuk is negative duration, max strength, and some efficiency. You also should be focused on status chance not crit damage if using a reactive storm build, the higher the status chance the more procs of the status the enemy is weak to per hit.

Nobody in this thread suggested desolate hands for damage. everyone knows its used for damage reduction. the person you are trying to correct is talking about Lull. Range affects three of his abilities, not none, in positive and negative ways. higher range and low duration on lull means rapid recasts on a group. This allows for very fast depletion of restraint meter and max uptime on his 4. The downside is needing to recast his 3, desolate hands, as higher range causes it to deplete faster, but ultimately it doesn't matter because you generate enough daggers at high strength to compensate, hence his "18 daggers" line. The disarming and damage output on desolate hands isn't "icing," it is completely useless in any decent build. if you are benefiting from the disarm or damage from his 3 you have a terrible baruuk build as enemies should already be dead from your 4. The person you were responding to understands this frame much more than you. take a seat. how good their build is may be subjective, but their idea behind it and reply show much more knowledge about the frame than yours. don't spread misinformation, and don't correct someone when you don't know what you're talking about.

One of my favorite frames but man his kit has no cohesiveness, and his personal weapon is a melee weapon as well which makes no sense at all since you would rather use his 4.
No? The only cohesiveness you're talking about is that he builds up restraint on all his abilities, which he should at the very least. His 1 is useless most of the time, decent at building restraint i guess, but the other abilities don't force you to build restraint so passively which is better. His 2 has some decent cc but unnecessary, though the best at gaining restraint on a low duration proper build, which most people use, which also makes the abilities effect worthless with low duration. That means his 1 and 2 are useless outside of being used purely for gaining restraint. Theres a reason why he isn't considered one of the best frames.
What? The first reply is right though. His kit is designed around mitigating/preventing damage and ultimately working towards getting to Serene Storm. They exist as resource generation tools that cover different circumstances, they don't have self-synergy because the only synergy they offer is getting you to Serene Storm and maintaining it.
Also his 4 uses mods and stats from the melee as well as what you put on desert wind. all exalted weapons work that way, except Jade who's exalted is based off her secondary weapon.
Also plenty of people consider baruuk to be one of the best frames. his only weakness is that he takes a bit of time to erode his meter, so he isnt best on short missions. Otherwise, his damage and damage negation are both phenomenal
I've used Baruuk since forever and something changed with the use of charges with desolate hands. More charges are used these days versus 2 years ago. Nothing in the patch notes that I can see. I can mod for less range but something changed with that skill.
I run low duration, high strength, with normal 100% range, doesn't feel like it changed unless it's the new Tileset, the spawn number is freakin insane, I just recast whenever it hit 8 or below, since I got like 25 daggers or something so it took a while

If you hold right button on mouse and made a slam attack the enemies will be pulled to the center of the slam attack(with a
chance to incrises your combo counter), otherwise they will be pushed.
Does wave damage fall off with range, or not? The Weapon section says yes. The Info - Wind Waves part says it does not.
Range does absolutely nothing for Baruuk
Wrong. range does nothing for serene storm. all three other abilities are affected by range. angle of invincibility for elude, range of lull, and range of desolate hands. Whether having any range in your build is good is subjective however and many go for almost no range. some like having a bit of range for lull.
Guys he was talking about fall off damage range not ability range, and as far as i can tell no his radial does not have fall off but i dont pay attention i just punch.
I can't figure out how to edit it but the radial wind attacks also do not add to the melee combo counter either.

To be fair, it used to NOT give reload speed...which made it confusing considering he was labled as "the frame for alternative gunplay" it wasnt until one of the major tweak/buffs that it even GAVE reload speed.
Profit taker bounties give all his relics. Of course if u can tolerate tedious grind that is fortuna.
Been running phase 2 for a few days now, dozen or so Lith B10 (radiant) relics gathered and run so far and almost all of them gave bronze tier rewards. Even with an average time of 1:50 for phase 2 I'm so sick of running these heist missions, I think its the dialogue and waiting for the duck to finish quacking so the enemies can spawn in.

No, this is not a bug (likely) but how Exalted Weapons work - similar thing happenes with any other weapon created by an ability.
But the exalted weapon and prime exalted weapon don't share the same mod pages.
