Different builds are very much a thing. You can easily swap between different gear sets. You can level the different weapons relatively fast once your are max level, maybe 4 hours per weapon. You get 2 or 3 loadout slots for free to quickly swap between gear sets. Additional slots must be purchased for real money, up to a maximum of 10 slots.
Thanks for the explanation. In the beta i was running fire staff and ice gauntlet so was putting all of my points into intelligence. Wouldnt that make other weapons not as effective?

Gear sets will be your friend. You can set gear loadouts and the only thing you will need to change is ur attributes. New world offers a more open build verity so you can be DPS one min and go healer later on if you want. The quest in the Brimstone sands and EW give good legendary gear for their lvl so it’s good armor/weapons for just reaching the higher lvls.

Your second time levelling up and especially grinding out faction ranks or searching for gear you already have bound to your other character starts to feel very pointless when you're a few days in and realize it would have just been 5 minutes to respec your attribs on your other character. Maybe not for you though. If that's what you want to do, there's absolutely no reason not to - especially if you enjoy it.
