Trivia
- "The Profit" trailer showcases the release of Warframe on the PS4 and includes Rhino as one of the screen-time characters in the plot. The trailer shows him punching his enemies without weapons, dealing tremendous damage. He is also shown not carrying any melee weapon.
- It was mentioned by [DE]Geoff on Devstream 18 that Rhino was supposed to be using
Furax in the trailer, but the model was too bulky for the animation they wanted to do, so they had him fight unarmed instead.[1]
- It was mentioned by [DE]Geoff on Devstream 18 that Rhino was supposed to be using
- Rhino is the fifth Frame to have a Prime, after
Excalibur,
Frost,
Mag, and
Ember.
- Prior to Update 19.13 (2017-03-09), Rhino required Mastery Rank 2 to build.

Just add strength and Nourish. That is it, go wild. Simple and effective
The ol' reliable
With the REVENANT ability, you can kill enemies of any level.
Someone found it out frfr.
But you need 410 str to do a true oneshot (this is still a 2 shot), so this is still not enough, in terms of strength.
Why even take out his 4 when you are not doing an iron skin setup (which is bad as well)...but whatever it works so its fine i guess.
NO FUCKING WAY
I DID NOT JUST FIND YOU POSTING A PARAGRAPH CORRECTING SOMEONE ABOUT RHINO
IN THE FUCKING WIKI
If you cast 4 midair, the damage from your passive should be added to the damage of rhino stompand applied in its 25m radius
It looks like he has a cock (Funny)
Lol it does
YEP cock
A lot of them do :P
Now this bad boy got shield gatting and over guard gatting, truly the gattening
Lmao
RIP 0% damage taken Rhino.
Just did a mission where I clearly did take damage on overguard, but it said I took at the end 0%.
The new decree that gives x% strength buff for every 50 points of armor is stupidly strong on rhino with 1st ability augment. Roar has 5+ digits %, stomp deals dmg cap oneshotting level 9999, but rhino skin sadly bugs out due to billions of health points and doesn't actually apply. All the "unga bunga press button nuke whole map" brains rejoice!
They "fixed" aka nerfed it as of 35.5.4 lol, now capped at 500% strength
👏...👏.....👏
I came here looking for the reason as to why my roar didn't go above 412.75, couldn't find anything on the ability itself neither here, nor ingame. Had to look for this comment.
Energy drain sesc in iron skin is outdated ig
Overguard has virtually the same function (Health buffs and immunities*) as the listed abilities and Augment Mods, so in an effort to expose the mechanic more and establish familiarity with Overguard as a whole (as it also appears on enemies) we have made it the visual indicator for them.
Rhino’s Iron Skin
Atlas’ Rumbled Augment Mod
Frost’s Icy Avalanche Augment Mod
Developers legit didn't understand their game. skin series are better than overguards and they just put some blatant excuses to nerf iron skin. lmao
Ignore the shit I wrote, just tested, seems skin is still functional as old iteration. :skull:
Classic example of a person seeing something and acting without thinking first right here...
Yeah the only thing it changed is that now rhino can use ON DAMAGED mods or arcanes like adaptation, arcane avenger or arcane guardian.
If you read into Overguard page, you will find that "Overguard is not affected by Damage Reduction from armor or mods such as Adaptation. It also does not block debuffs such as Damage Vulnerability or shield/armor removal."
How make people mad:
> Rhino is BAD
> Refuse to elaborate further
> Leave
> Mad Teeno with big text no one reads say Rhino is not bad
> Profit?
Would you shut up man? ^^
how does someone get that mad from a game bruv...
It's clearly satire lmao
How do you not realize he's playing into the joke is beyond me
My first love.
I honestly think Rhino being available to newbies so early on does new players a disservice — Iron Skin easily shrugs off any danger in normal Star Chart, and weak weapons can be carried by Roar.
I think Rhino needs a bit of tweaking when it comes to his abilities, especially his Heavy Impact passive. It's completely useless, outclassed by a slam attack from your melee.
heavy impact is meant to knock enemies down. I'm just saying it's fucking useless lol
having him be available early on in the star chart is not an excuse for having a shit passive. what of rhino prime then?
I agree on this thats why ima switch his stomp to a healing abiltiy via helminth since my build is foucsed on strength only
^ Based. Though perhaps you might wanna spec a bit into his iron skin for higher level play.
Rhino trivializes the entire game, not just normal star chart. Don't build for Iron Skin, it's a noob trap in Steel Path. Just go full strength with some duration and range, tank efficiency to the minimum and subsume Nourish over Rhino Charge. Keep Nourish, Roar and Iron Skin up, hit Rhino Stomp if you (or the objective) need a breather. Congratulations you now have an immortal weapons platform with infinite energy that can make almost any weapon work.
Rhino is a bit fat
Rhino has a big fat codpiece*
Parts for Rhino (and many other Warframes) including the blueprint can now be obtained from normal difficulty Circuit mode in Duviri.
17 runs yet no neurooptics
20 tries for the systems...
Yep
I got a wukong set and i got a rhino set (both prime)
Lol first three runs neurotics systems then chasisse
took me 4 tries for all of rhino, kinda feel bad for u guys, or i just have good luck...
Change his useless passive to having universal weapon stabilization.
Agreed, his passive is so awful and severely outdated, it is the only thing that I desperately want it to change, maybe change to something that ties to his kit, wep stability is nice though, or just go with "upon casting abilities, enemies within 10m are staggered and take 30% more dmg."
Realistically they can't give him a better passive without him becoming the best frame in the game again, so he's just gonna stay like this forever
Changing his passive will just make him even more '' boom boom nuke everything''
I would gladly accept a tweak that made his hard-falls apply a stack or two of any of the physical types. Anything other than a hundred damage with no stagger potential :(
Does rhino stomp requires line of sight?
No, the damage might fall of with distance, but the cc effect still applies
Do u think rhino prime is gonna be unvaulted again?
Maybe not for a while, considering he was recently vaulted and close to 8 months. Because of the event rolling over his unvaulting.
I hope you're ready tenno. Rhino prime in 10 more days.
Rhino Prime is very close in points to not prime, and that is so very weird seeing how absurdly unbalanced almost everybody else is from their Prime, serious some frames have almost double the points.
IMO in a higher level, you should just forget everything about Ironskin. It's mostly useless there and only serves to protect you from occasional elemental procs and knockdown and you better off stay alive with helminth abilities (Gloom or Pillage).
While I am not the same individual, the idea of the dragon key and the shield mods is to utilize a mechanic in Warframe called shield-gating.
With very few exceptions, every warframe in the game has both shields and health. Since shields are regenerable, they would be useless if they immediately bled into health, which by default is not able to regenerate.
This is the reason why a special sound effect plays when your shields are depleted. What happens when that occurs is just little more than a second of invulnerability, in which the gate between shields and health stays closed. Any damage taken in this time is ignored. If you continue to take damage immediately after this period, called the shield gate, that you begin to actually take damage.
No matter what shield recharge mods you have equipped, it is not possible to make shields recharge at or before the shield gate opens and leaves you somewhat vulnerable to damage. This is where the mod Brief Respite and Augur Mods come in.
Under normal circumstances, the process would be shields depleted >> shield gate >> shield recharge delay >> shield recharge. In other words, if you take damage during the recharge delay, the delay restarts, and you take health damage. The Augur mods and Brief Respite, however, bypass the entire process by instantly giving you shields whenever you cast an ability. This changes the process to shields depleted >> shield gate >> cast ability >> shields restored >> shields depleted. Naturally, it does not completely restore your shields, but it does bypass the shield recharge delay where you can take health damage, as well as allows you to shield-gate again without delay.
At higher levels, enemies do such a ridiculous amount of damage that there is no way a warframe could have enough shields to defend against them without their abilities (and/or the adaptation mods). Thus, shield-gating is used to abuse the ~1.5 second invulnerability as long as the warframe can afford to cast any ability at that time.
The Decaying Dragon Key is used to significantly reduce the amount of shields the player has at long as it's equipped. This makes reaching the shield gate easier, but is usually redundant on higher levels. Other uses of this key are helpful in combination with ability kits or mods that benefit from health contact or damage.
In Rhino's case, he has a higher base shields than most frames, and is similar to Frost in that their abilities don't revolve around their shields. (In Rhino's case it is armor).
With such a high base shields, equipping at least a Redirection for higher shields and subsuming Parasitic armor would create enhanced synergy with Rhino's Iron Skin. The need for shield-gating or shields would not be missed if Iron skin is cast immediately afterwards. While there is a host of ways and combinations to increase Rhino's armor, this is certainly an effective way to do it if you do not desire or prefer one of Rhino's abilities.
When it comes to the earlier warframes such as these, you have a lot of control on how you want to play them. While Rhino has a kit oriented towards tanking damage, he is actually rather versatile versus similar tanks such as Grendel, Inaros, or even Hildryn.
There are three ways I've seen rhino typically played:
Shield-gating with constant Roar and ability upkeep.
Massive stat tank with high shields, armor and health and drawing aggro
Iron-skin dependent and charge-oriented.
There are definitely other ways, and I have not listed my own personal preference. Plus, these may have changed since I have not seen a rhino player in a bit in my matchmaking. However, Iron Skin is one of the most powerful abilities in the game for damage buffering. Roar is also equally significant for its simple and all-around damage increase.
Making Rhino survivable in SP requires either use of shield-gating or iron skin.
Rhino's Stomp is the most effective slowing ability so far based on time. It is not the most efficient or the best overall, but certainly stops the enemies in their tracks and grants breathing room.
Rhino will require very little aid. Vazarin as an operator should only be chosen if your prefence is to act as a healer or support.
You know you're playing Rhino right if you don't go down when the rest of the team does, Otherwise, you can play him however you like.
wow people write essays on a wiki Fandom, I don't understand why
Worst take ever
Also fym "More so if you consider that Calibans Sentient Wrath outperforms Rhinos Stomp in almost every way (except a little less range) and it also adds Damage Vulnerability to affected enemies."
