Silent Battery is a Mod that reduces Noise Level on Shotguns. At max rank, it renders any Shotgun completely silent and undetectable while firing.

Notes[]
- This Mod only reduces or eliminates firing noise. Any corpses, returning fire or enemies that are not killed quick enough will still cause an alert.
- Shooting a silent Weapon within 6 meters of an enemy or at the terrain near an enemy will cause them to stop and look around, but will not change their actual alert state.
- This Mod does not work correctly on the
Sweeper Prime (and assuming regular
Sweeper). It may reduce sound range but the shot is not silent. - A rank 3 Silent Battery Mod (100% Noise reduction) will allow
Ivara to stay invisible while
Prowl is active.

Does anything increase the drop rate of this mod? Mod drop chance booster, necros, khora, hydriod ect...
If the Redeemer is classified in it's description as:
The Redeemer is a gunblade that merges the functions of a shotgun with a melee weapon. Apart from its normal melee abilities, the Redeemer can also fire off a charged shotgun blast to hit enemies at range.
Then why can't it use shotgun mods?
Or in regards to Sarpa; it's regarded as:
The Sarpa is a short range gunblade combining a keen blade with a burst-fire rifle. It normally fires five-round bursts, although some stance combo attacks fire ten rounds at half damage.
Then why can't it use Rifle mods? I understand that there isn't many gunblade weapons but you'd think DE would make more unique mods for them. I was hoping Silent Battery would work on my Redeemer

The same reason you can't use rifle mods on the Twin Grakatas. Can you imagine the spaghetti code bugs that would happen if they tried to allow mods from an entirely different category of weapons?
Anyone else think there should be some kind of interaction between sentinel weapons and these mods?
I feel like including these mods on sentinel weapons should have the sentinels attack while invis rather than always holding fire.
So wait... you can silence your pistols, rifles and GRENADE LAUNCHERS with mods farmable from enemies starting around level 10, but the shotgun mod isn't available till one around level 60. What?
Yeah this seems really strange. I just found myself looking for this mod and realized I've luckily just gotten to this area of the starchart... but yesh.
Due to DE's incompetence, they neglected to add a silencer mod for shotguns when the others were introduced - when they finally realized their mistake, they shoved it into whatever shiny new mode was available. This kinda crap happens all the time with them.

I really hope they fix the issue with Sweeper and Sweeper prime, as those two weapons are literally the only ones I have a reason to put this on...
Who else thinks that these silencer mods having any ranks at all is just silly? They should just have max rank, and no other ranks. (rankless, basically)

I kinda want my shotgun to be a bit silent but not really so I can still be found when I'm trying to be sneaky. Really good for staying alive. Maybe we can all get the bleach and noose. I hear those are just about as effective too.

Sentinels shouldn't even be able to shoot if the enemies have not noticed you, so how the hell was this even tested?
Likely by using Carrier with the Looter mod, which allows the Carrier to fire at containers.
The only sentinel that dosn't attack enemies who are unalerted is shade. Carrier will attack the enemy if you stay within range for a certain amount of time. At least that is how i've noticed it least. You can also do a stealth melee hit on an enemy, which 'activates' carrier to tell it your fighting now.
They shouldn't, I agree, but they still open fire without hesitation on alerted enemies. (Which is dumb, alerting enemies is not the same as getting caught, those enemies could lose alertness in a minute).

Why waste your time on this random mod when you already have banshees's passive. - Making all weapon she uses, silenced.
All about that invisibility, mate. Headshots up close and personal and still keeping a bonus stealth xp multiplier is tasty. Prowl's headshot bonus with crit may still not be as good as a decked-out Sonar, but it's good enough.
Or we can just have the knowledge that this team is the best:
Two Ivara players, Banshee and Loki.
Why?
Ivara #1 shoots the ground with a high range cloak arrow and stays in prowl with Ivara #2 for that sweet, sweet free loot. Banshee spams Resonance and Loki is good for running to life supports. Although Loki can be replaced by another Ivara.
Pretty sure this mod doesnt work on Sweeper/sweeper prime (only tested on prime), because when I stealth execute an enemy and my sentinel shoots, enemies that are not near me or looking at me get alerted
EDIT: Ok, so after some more testing, I can't actually tell if the shot is silent or not, when my sentinel kills an enemy, moderately far away enemies (15m+) don't get alerted but if they are close-ish (10m or so) they always seem to get alerted. I don't think its just because the enemies hear the death because that only seems to happen under 5m. The enemies aren't facing me either.
Ok so the new system will alert any enemies if there's a death within 5m with them no matter which direction they're facing so they're not so dumb anymore and be like "oh look Jerry just died...meh I didn't like him that much anyway"
I added 'The enemies aren't facing me either' so that people didn't think that the orientation of the enemies was a factor. I already mentioned the 5m sound range aswell...
Actually it seems that none of the silence mods work on sentinel weapons, given that a burst laser equipped on a carrier sentinel that only targets containers will still alert enemies.
Got it in one round, solo at level 60 arena with Reinforcement modifier. More chances for this to drop with more dudes I guess.

Walking around with Ivara, and spoding faces just got alot more funner-er..
Drop rates were most definitely fixed, I got 3 of these in a single mission.
