What Audio Interface do you use for your XLR microphones?

Solved

Thinking about audio interfaces, and I am on the edge about which one to get.

There is this one: Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FFIGZF6/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1)

And then there the ol' faithful: Focusrite Scarlett 3rd Gen. (https://www.amazon.com/Focusrite-Scarlett-Audio-Interface-Tools/dp/B07QR6Z1JB/ref=sr_1_1?crid=RNQQTT8M6EZC&keywords=audio%2Binterface&qid=1684354979&sprefix=audio%2Binterfac%2Caps%2C356&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc&th=1 )

Which would you get? Save the 20 bucks and get the Behringer, or pay the full 100 for the Scarlett?

I use a 3rd Gen Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Works fantastic for 1 mic setups.

Yeah, I am leaning to the Scarlett as someone mentioned that Behringer has a rep for bad quality control it seems.

Thank you!

I can't speak for the Behringer, but I love my Focusrite Scarlet Solo... insomuch as I can love an audio interface I guess? Reasonable price, had it for 4 years, works perfectly.

I've had quality issues with the couple behringer mixers I've had in the past and try to avoid them as much as I can now. I haven't tried either of the interfaces you linked, but the Scarlett has a good reputation for a reason. A big factor can also be if either interface can drive whatever mic you have. I use an sd-1 which needs a decent amount of gain. So that was a factor since I didn't want to buy a cloudlifter as well as an interface.

Thanks, I think you've got me to go with Scarlett. If I spend $70 I want it to last, and if behringer has a reputation of not doing that, I'll gladly spend the extra $20 for the Scarlett.

Focusrite are very good, and behringer products can be hit or miss as they are a budget brand. On my old pc, which i now only do music production on i have the scarlett 18i20, overkill for what you will need. On my gaming pc, i have my Zoom H6 portable recorder setup as an interface, again a little bit overkill but works like a charm. For future proofing, i would suggest one of the Zoom portable recorders that can be used as a usb interface. One that has phantom is a good bet and then an XLR condenser microphone with a pop shield and stand of some kind.

What did you end up getting? :)

The second link. Focusrite Scarlett, works good! The color is good, it seems well built, what more can I ask for really?

Sorry for the delay. I didn't get the notification. I must have been offline.
