Infused MCT oil. Tips ?
So, I traveled to Portland, OG and fell in love with this brand called “Magic Number”.
Sadly, it’s not available in the state I am in. I wanted to get into making infused drinks. While researching, I discovered MCT oil blends very well into drinks.
I infused some MCT oil with my Levo II.
For recipes Does blend well with just juice or soda in the event I don’t feel like having something with fat like dairy for the THC to bond to?
Also, what do I do with the leftover “sludge” or used flower ?
I’ve always wanted to cook with cannabis but worry about wasting my money. Like if I wanted to make a soup or sauce wouldn’t the cooking process ruin the THC in the MCT oil if for example I were simmering a nice tomato sauce ?
I've used it in cookies and it was fine . I have to get a second pod, tho 1 isn't enough for my tolerance. I have no experience trying to mix it with anything for drinking. i wouldn't think oil would be good in that application, however.
You don't even need pod(s). As a noob, I sprung for a 2nd pod and then discovered they aren't even necessary. Google "Levo hack". If all that's TL;DR (most of it is), it boils down to this: use a French press screen. Put it in the bottom of the Levo's "brew basket". Cover the hole in the center with the Levo's stirring magnet and voila, the whole "brew basket" is now one big pod! Note: buy a 6 pack of the FP screens on Amazon. Steer clear of the bozos selling a single screen for $$$$.
ETA, these are the ones I got a couple years ago. I'm still using the first one, so def a good buy. And, lucky you, they're now $2.00 less than when I bought them.

I just did it yesterday. Like above mentioned, I use a cold press screen. 6 pack from amazon. I started 2 pods. Found I could fit 3. But I didn’t feel like there was enough space for the oil to flow through the flower. I make everything with it. Put a little in my coffee. I find it really helps with my arthritis pain. I’m going to try running it through a second time with fresh flowers. I usually make a couple batches of gummies. You can substitute the oil in any box mix. Ghirardelli’s brownie mix is my favorite. If you like the flavor of decarbed cannabis put it in a food processor and blend until smooth. Mixed with peanut butter on toast. 💚
To add the ideal temp to cook is 250-325. Definitely below 365. That’s when the thc will completely degrade.
You should check out the levo lovers club FB page, they are very knowledgeable
I’m not on fb :(
I sub my infused MCT oil for the far in whatever recipe I'm making and it works prefectly. For any baking or cooking you might be doing you really wouldn't be getting the food hot enough to breakdown the THC.
soy or sunflower lecithin is an emulsifier that also increases the bioavailability of THC, add a teaspoon or two to your recipes to help bind the oil. Especially good for gummies and other candies
The sludge that's left over I don't think is worth doing much of anything with. I tried running the same flower and oil through a second infusion cycle. I used the T-check to test the infusion after the first cycle and tested again after the 2nd cycle. There was no change. The next time I did an infusion I tried using the spent flower to make a green dragon tincture. The T-check showed it was only 1.9mg/ml. Hardly worth the effort.
Much of their calories in sunflower seeds come from fatty acids. The seeds are especially rich in poly-unsaturated fatty acid linoleic acid, which constitutes more 50% fatty acids in them. They are also good in mono-unsaturated oleic acid that helps lower LDL or "bad cholesterol" and increases HDL or "good cholesterol" in the blood. Research studies suggest that the Mediterranean diet which is rich in monounsaturated fats help to prevent coronary artery disease, and stroke by favoring healthy serum lipid profile.
I add the leftover flower to my coffee grounds in the pot when I make my coffee
Can you go into more detail about that and does it smell? Thanks
