- Previously, the in-game description of this mod incorrectly stated:

- Prior to Update 26.0 (2019-10-31), this mod increased Channeling efficiency and
Electricity damage on melee weapons.

I'm gonna assume you mean the little hexagon just above the Mod upgrade pips. That indicates that that copy of the Mod is currently equipped on a build somewhere.
If i were to put this on a exalted Weapon with Reflex coil could it work for my reg melee weapon so i lose no mod space but still get the effects?

Looks like there was an update, at rank 3 it currently does:
+40% Heavy Attack Efficiency
+60% Electricity
Sounds like the wording just changed, the effect stayed the same.
Tip: You can use this mod with Zenurik's Inner Might to reach 90% combo efficiency. This helps both heavy attack spam and combo and heavy attack hybrid builds, the only downside is that you will be sacrificing 30% eletricity damage since you won't be using the +90% eletricity mod, but following attacks will be stronger due to losing much less combo.
So does it mean if you have both Focus Energy and Reflex Coil, you don't use up the combo counter?
No, they have diminishing returns, so together you get 90% efficiency.
Someone is going to do some cool heavy attack build where you can repeatedly use heavy attack but at the end of the day you lose so much mod space just so you can do it. Melee is weird where there are some meta builds that work well, all the other concepts about melee is still gimped beyond repair.

Diminising return implies reduced effectiveness after each stack e.g. stacking 3x 200% damage increase will reduce the effectiveness of the latter two by this formula
1x=200%+100%base = 300% or 300%/100% = 200% increase from the previous
2x=500% or 500%/300%= 66.67% increase from the previous
3x=700% or 700%/500%= 40% increase from the previous
This "efficiency" one is the opposite but there's a cap. Say, 3x 25% stack
1x=1-0.25 = 0.75 or 1/0.75 = ability to spam 33% more times before it's empty from the previous
2x=0.5 or 0.75/0.5= ability to spam 50% more times before it's empty from the previous
3x=0.25 or 0.5/0.25= ability to spam 100% more times before it's empty from the previous
Though it has a cap at 90% so let's include it
90% efficiency compared to 75% = 0.25/0.1= 150% more to spam than 75% eff.
As you can see, efficiency bonus effectiveness just keep growing more and more with each %.

Go to link, zero on what "efficiency" means as to a combo... So what, does the combo counter go up 40% faster... Or does the multiplier increase at 40% lower count?
In my testing with the mod and and off, in both cases the x2 multi appeared at 20 hits... and each attack was getting 5 hits on a single enemy... So I have no idea what "efficiency" means in the context of this mod.
Edit, Worked out that it means the amout of combo counter left after a heavy strike, ie. if you have 100 on your combo counter, and you do a heavy attack with Focus Energy equipt, you will have 40 combo counter left.

Does this give electricity damage when you aren't channeling? It does show on the damage of the weapon as if it does, but seeing as it is paired with a channeling effect, it makes me wonder if it is just showing what the numbers would be if channeling...
You get the damage without having to channel for it.

This is what happens when you have something here that's only obtainable in a time limited frame. All the "Alert now" is what you get.
You can get tons from nightmare, I got like 4 lol, these aren't temporary
I started playing around July 2020 and yeah, I still haven't managed to see a single one.
I wish DE would stop dropping mods on alerts. Then we could actually use the comment section to discuss the mod.

So I just came from the shocking touch page, where other people said that too was useless. Any chance someone could skip giving advice that isn't helpful and just tell us something we need to know?
So to be clear-- it gives you + electric damage even when you're not channeling? because most mods with channeling cost effects all give their buff when channeling only (ie life strike or corrupt charge). But this one gives you the added electric damage channeling or not?
you get the bonus damage even when not channeling. you can determine if the bonus is only for channeling by the mod category: mods that say "melee" at the bottom always give their bonuses, mods that say "channeling" just when you channel.
both reflex coil+ shocking touch has - polarity while this mod has Y polarity
