- Prior to Update 26.0 (2019-10-31), this mod provided an armor bonus while Channeling at the cost of Channeling Efficiency.
- Because Channeling while blocking will negate all incoming damage (rendering the Armor increase irrelevant), the effect is only present when Channeling but not blocking. Even with the highest possible Armor before Abilities (a Valkyr with
Steel Fiber and
Armored Agility, for a damage resistance of 83.61%), a 20% increase to Armor only results in a 2.35% increase to damage resistance. Blocking but not Channeling with any melee weapon will reduce damage by a significantly greater amount (the lowest damage block of all melee weapons is 35%). - As the use of abilities blocks the use of channeling this mod has no effect on Warframe abilities.

Umm, it says Parry Angle and does not increase the Blocking Angle in my mod stats
I don't know if it was an unlisted patch but I can confirm that my 70 angle shield blokes with 90 while equipped. shows in states too.
Now that blocking reduces 100% damage, using this mod with guardian derision and a sword and shield weapon looks like a good choice. With Silva &Aegis+ this mod you get a 90° block angle.
Why don't they just change this to give youa flat increase to armor. Period.
Or an increase to armor when in melee mode and get rid of the need to channel. Been playing since the begining and I RARELY ever channel let alone need a mod that gives me a small boost while doing something I almost never do.
People overstate how bad this is. Valkyr without armour mods has 600/900 = 0.667 damage resistance, takes 0.333.
Valkyr with this has 720/1020 = 0.706 damage resistance, takes 0.294.
0.294/0.333 = 0.882. With other words, damage is reduced by nearly 12% compared to normal. That's still bad, but far better than what "damage resistance multiplied by 1.06" sounds like.
1. It's not 12% 2. With Valkyrs' base values it's more like 4 3. It's horrible, you have to have the melee equipped AND channeling and even then blocking does more good.
Yea, it's "just" 11.8%. There's a reason I said "nearly".
And it's a flat increase of 4%, yes. But a flat increase of 4% would make you completely invulnerable if you're allready at 96% damage reduction. In unmodded Valkyr's case, those 4% reduce damage compared to normal by the above-mentioned 11.8%.
I never said it's not horrible. Just not quite as bad as people like you make it seem.
Make this a flat modifier give 100/200/400/600 armor on levels 0/1/2/3 to make it worth taking on low armor warframes.
I like your Idea but I don't think it needs to be a channelling mod . Just add the armor when in melee mode.
We got four good acolyte melee mods, so we got one with enough shittiness for the five of them put together.

It could have been useful if the mod gave you increased attack speed by channeling.

If you channel with this and then use abilities that gain from your armor rating like: Frost globe, Rhino iron skin, Nezha warding halo, it'll add points to them. That's about the only use for it.. but it's still not really worth it though.
Seems like you don’t understand (granted this mod IS useless). The idea isn’t to get extra armor by switching to channeling melee. The idea is that, while you’re melee channeling, you’ll take less damage from attacks beings as you can’t sit behind cover with a ranged weapon. THAT’S it’s use. Still useless.

Thats actually a very good idea, just change channel to togle and keep channeling while castung stuff, its a free 20% armor increase on a frame like nidus.

do you see the part where it says at MOST it gives a 2.35% damage reduction, on nidus it would be even lower, this mod is completely useless on any build. even if you are sitting there doing nothing with a possibly 1.3% damage reduction, it would be better if you switched that mod out for something that made your weapon deal more damage which would allow you to kill enemies faster which means you would definitely take less damage because there wouldn't be any enemies to take damage from
Hope OP learned to read since this time, as it clearly states it’s a channeling mod... Wouldn’t make it far in Warframe if they didn’t learn... OP seems like one of those (most of you) idiots that halfass reads a sign that gives them information, only to have to ask (or be told) for the SAME information later, because they were too stupid to actually read...
Forget not being worth the channeling cost lost, this thing is not even worth the slot it takes up.

Even without the channeling cost this isn't worth the mod slot.
I don't believe this works with Iron Skin, Hysteria, or Snow Globe. It does not appear to offer any health points to Iron Skin or Snow Globe, either in the stats display (as Ironclad Charge does) or in actual gameplay. I did some testing on this because I thought it would synegize great with Electromagnetic Shielding on a high armored Rhino, but have been met with disappointment.
