Impact proc.
- Explosion deals
Puncture and
Heat damage.
- Each ricochet will cause the projectile to slow down.

- Explosion can benefit from
Firestorm (
Primed).

- Incarnon Form's magazine is not affected by mods.
- Incarnon Form is not affected by Ammo Efficiency (such as
Energized Munitions).

Trivia[]
- The Latron Prime was added into the game in Update 8.0 (2013-05-23), becoming one of the first prime weapons to be available to non-founders.
- The Latron Prime and
Reaper Prime were available after Update 8, although DE had previously mentioned not releasing the weapons. This may be because of the many times U8 had been delayed.[1]
- Latron Prime is the first primary weapon to be a Prime.
- As of Update 8.3 (2013-07-04), the Latron Prime's body and energy color can be colored.
- The Latron Prime has a distinctive firing sound that might suggest it uses energy or electronics in firing.
- The Latron rifles could be classified as battle rifles.
- As of Update 14.5 (2014-08-28) the Latron Prime has been given a new reload animation.
- The animation shows the Warframe pulling a lever (golden bar forward of the trigger) to open the chamber of the rifle before it is closed again as the weapon is reloaded.
- The Latron Prime's gold parts can be recolored as of Update 15.13 (2015-02-05).

I may be extremely stupid but why can't this use Terminal Velocity if it's a projectile Rifle weapon?
Because it doesn't have the hidden PROJECTILE compatibility tag. It only has ASSAULT_AMMO.
That's so sad :( oh well Stabilizer/Supplies is fine
Correction, its Evolution 2: Swift Punishment doesn't require 1.2 sprint speed anymore.
Seems like it, looked at this in the game and mine doesn't say it requires sprint speed.
Incarnon version is hilarious
Welcome to red crit city
If you put Amalgam Serration on it, you will have over 1.2 Sprint Speed on any frame that has base of at least 1, allowing you to use Swift Punishment without messing with your Warframe build.
It's already very powerful before incarnon but its power was mostly restricted to a single target or a single line of targets.
Incarnon simply adds a radius to that.
Now I'm gonna say bye-bye to, I guess, 3 dots on its riven dispo.
Riven dispo completely unchanged
Huh. So its popularity ain't got exploded as much as its power, eh. Riven traders on riven.market seem to feel the same. Guess that's a good thing for us hehe.
This thing's Incarnon shots demolish clusters of lv185 eximus bombards like they are made out of wet toilet paper. Feels like the most OP weapon right now even without a riven.
Incarnon form is quite interesting. Shots now fire an energy ball that ricochets on impact and deals an explosive burst while doing so. Hilarious in enclosed spaces.
Important: During incarnon form it seems to mess with the double tap mod and prevent activation.
Literally the Pulse Rifle's secondary fire from Half Life 2
Rhindon Freetenno.
Yep, it is really really fun to use now the incarnon is here
Rejoice Latron main, and thank you DE
This was my favorite early weapon. I'm so glad I now can stick to using it again.
Just a nice gun. No bells and whistles, just a straightforward point-and-shoot - and very good at being that. If the leaks are true and this is getting an Incarnon Adapter with Duviri, I'm going to be having a lot of fun with this thing.
Ol'reliable
Anyone know why is volt prime holding this in his blueprint? was latron prime originally supposed to be his signature weapon?
Volt Prime was released without an accommodating prime weapon so he had to borrow something. Poor Frost in particular.
A riven and lots of multishot help it -- along with double shot -- but you wont enjoy this single shot semi auto against the hordes of steel path. You will also need something to help with the small magazine and/or the long reload. And the recoil. Why bother? If you want to do tons of damage against single targets with limited magazine, here ya go. but you are limited which mods to use because of the various limitations you need to mod against. if you want to use it in SP you may want to consider punch thru. Time was not kind to this weapon. ymmv.
Edit: double tap not double shot. regrets.
I love the Latron Prime for its aesthetic, sound, and overall 'vibe' but the sad thing is Tiburon Prime in semi-auto is just plain better by every metric except ammo-efficiency (though it's still a very efficient rifle in semi-auto and I've never had it run out of ammunition) and Tiburon can also switch to burst/full-auto when you need more firepower. The worst part is in every practical sense it's also a more effective weapon when it comes to engaging tricky targets or taking very long-range shots. I mean I take Tiburon onto open world maps and honestly it performs absurdly well at insane ranges because when you have fifty rounds on tap and minimal down-time reloading (seriously Latron spends about eight times as long reloading to unload the equivalent of two Tiburon mags) You can take shots you wouldn't with something like Latron or a sniper and just 'walk,' your rounds onto targets before letting loose.
These are realities the devs need to take into account when balancing weapons.
Sadly poor ergonomics simply make Latron obsolete in its one role. I don't think the damage necessarily needs a buff but its performance needs to be tweaked to make it more usable. Give it a mag-size or reload speed buff over normal Latron, or both, even if that means lowering the damage, and it would be a great, 'DMR,' rifle for open-world play.
I'll still use it because I like it, but I'm not a min-maxer.
Get Double Tap and a good Riven
I got doubletap mod and a riven with 260% crit chance & 140% toxin with that the old ass latron is OP as hell
That riven better have reload and multishot or you wont be happy with double tap.
"Tied with Veldt for the third highest damage of all semi-automatic rifles, behind Grinlok and Zenith."
Really hasn't been updated in a long time, huh.
This is one of those weapons which look really cool to hold in your warframes hands but just sucks because of the shit zoom when aiming. If only DE released a -ve Zoom exilus mod for rifles in the near future this weapon would get some playtime
it's a very stylish and refined weapon but the two frog fingers destroyed the whole look; Boltor and Burston Prime are other beautiful weapons with some weird curves, I would love a redesign of these.
How about learning to hipfire? you do not need to aim down sights with the latron
Gamepad users can't shoot without aim assist lol
Hes the easiet prime assult rifle to get lol
Now were calling weapons he or she?
^ You’re going to shit your pants once you look at the United States, Americans put plastic genitals on their cars.
Don't know why this gets so much hate, it has always been my favorite primary in the game alongside the Wraith version. Hits insanely hard thanks to the high crit multiplier and does so with deadly accuracy. Addition of the exilus mod slot lets you run Stabilizier, completely removing any real recoil. The Double Tap augment in particular gave it quite a power boost, 500% increased damage is no joke. I'm running a +cc +cd +reload -ammo riven, and thanks to the reload boost the 500% can be held through reloads. Very high boosts from the riven as well thanks to the high disposition. I'm quite fond of the default zoom, doesn't have the ridiculousness of sniper scopes, but gets just enough to hit a bit of a sweet spot for any range. From Tridolons to Arbitrations, the Latrons can really put in work.
Here's my two most used builds: General mission use: https://i.imgur.com/aQVV3cM.png Tridolon Volt (With Shock Trooper augment for Rad dmg): https://i.imgur.com/1ourn3y.png
-Speedstang
but in steel path the single target weapons usually are not the best pick Yup. Agreed. Area damage primary weapons are currently overshadowing single fire primary weapons with the various changes to the game in the last 6 months -- and snipers in particular are very situational now.
People arguing about "competitive" weapons in a cooperative game...
the people above are discussing about the usefulness of a weapon in differrent aspects of the game, if your only contribution is pointing fingers then you should consider leaving
I just wonder who this idiot is quiting because the only instance of the term "competitive" on this entire page is his post. Literally nobody is arguing about competitive weapons, they're discussing viability in endgame content.
more like Latrine Prime, am i right guys?
the rumour has it that you can still sometimes hear latron prime weeping in the washroom, for even being desipsed by its kind.
Shit zoom, shit reload speed, shit recoil, shit magazine size, shit rate of fire and shit base damage and stats.
Tried corrosive builds, viral/slash builds, crit builds, top tier rivens with -zoom... there is no salvation for this weapon time to delete and forget after 5 forma.
Fuck this weapon and Fuck whoever designed it.
If DE wants to fix a weapon like this they should:
1) Reduce recoil by 50%
2) Magazine size > 20
3) Crit chance > 30
4) Reload > 2
5) Riven dispo > 5
6) Fire rate > 7~
OR keep it as is and make it a mastery rank 3 weapon heh... a primed mastery rank 3
Calm down dude :/ I heard there are some other weapons to play with :)
first: why even try a corrosive build? there certainly are even worse weapons for that but there's no point. this gun screams hunter munitions.
second:
"shit zoom" - - - - - - - use -zoom riven, like you said
"shit rate of fire" - - - - - - - simply not true. it's comfortable for clicking, and just feels normal to me and everyone who i've talked to about this gun. if the base was much higher it would lead to absurd fire rates for a semi auto weapon. obviously, it can be increased with primed shred, to an even higher degree than is practicly useful. this gives you wiggle room for r4 vile precison's fire rate malus.
"shit base damage" - - - - - - - base damage is fine.
"shit stats" - - - - - - - crazy talk. good cc, amazing cd and very good status chance don't really make for "shitty" (try "really good"). puncture base with low impact is good for a HM viral oriented gun, giving you fair direct damage (especially with the new viral proc)
third:
"1) Reduce recoil by 50%" - - - - - - - use r4 vile precision (exilus)
"2) Magazine size > 20" - - - - - - - use primed fast hands
"3) Crit chance > 30" - - - - - - - not needed, it's adequate in relation to it's dispo (get cc on riven)
"4) Reload > 2" - - - - - - - use primed fast hands
"5) Riven dispo > 5" - - - - - - - as of the latest dispo change it's close to being there; i agree that it should have near-maximum dispo
"6) Fire rate > 7~" - - - - - - - use primed shred
fourth:
riven. a viral hm build takes up *nine* slots (dmg ms cc cd hm pshred tox+cold bane). this necessitates a riven. since primed fast hands also needs to be slotted, it's necessary to use a riven with at least three stats (dmg, ms, cc, cd, reload speed, cold/toxin, faction damage). that's a large pool of acceptable stats, so it's not so extremely hard to obtain such a riven by rolling or purchase. for example, a nominally shitty roll such as reload speed, cold, +grineer -zoom would still meet the criteria and perform adequately.
building the gun this way fixes all of it's outstanding issues - at the cost of 1 (one) extra mod slot needed for primed fast hands.
what can't be done and remains as a real issue is stacking multishot for more consistent bleed application. good fire rate is there to partially compensate for this.
Its a relic of a bygone age.
Its really not good compared to the competition. If there is a weapon that needs a riven to be good, its this thing.
It was one of the top tier weapons in the Soma era. Now, well, powercreep happened again and again and now we're at the point where it is considered bad even after a mastery rebalance giving this poor thing a buff.
It used to be one of the kings.
Dont be fooled by its promising stats. The gun's zoom makes it unbearable to use.
i have a riven with damage, CC and CD, i can't tell you how much i wish it had negative zoom as well
