Sweet, thank you.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this calculator does not factor in decarboxylation loss of 0.877 nor 20% loss for infusion? 4g at 20% thc = 800mg. 800 x .877 = 701.60mg THC. 701.60mg x .80 = 561.28mg THC. If using 240ml oil, that's 2.338mg/ML.
1 zip to 1 cup
A zip in the least to a cup. Regardless of starting thc percentages.
Ardent Nova posted about dry herb to oil ratios, I think ghee (clarified butter) was best. Their chart shows 0.5g per 30ml was the optimal saturation point. They also posted on boosting via re-infusion . So infuse, strain, then infuse again. Nearly doubled potency. I don't understand why you can't just use more and just do one infusion. Does the cool down reheat help with the noid saturation issue? Just food for thought.
I have jammed a half ounce in a stick of butter in the past...
I've heard some people argue that after a certain amount, it is wasteful because the oil can only bind with so much thc.
For example:
There is no point to put anything over "x" amount because the oil cannot infuse any more thc or is fully saturated if that makes any sense.
I would love the answer to this question as well
I usually fit as much as possible. To assuage any concerns about leaving medicine behind, I always save the marc and use it to infuse coconut cream that I mix with honey n cocoa powder to make a nice little bonus beverage. That way the "real" medicine is as potent as possible and I also don't waste anything 🤙
For every cup of coconut oil I infuse I try to add at least 1/4 to 1/2 oz of decarbbed weed. Makes some really strong edibles you can keep for long time as a tincture
Thanks for the reply. 😌
Do you give it more than one cycle by infusing the same material to fresh oil after?
1 gram to 10ml is a good ratio imo.
results in 1ml being a decent dose (15-25mg). can also halve or quarter that for the sensitive.
That's 23.6-25 grams of flower to one cup of butter, depending on where you live. Fairly close to 1oz:1cup.
Thanks.
Depends on how strong you want it wouldn't it?
1oz. Standard is .5oz for every cup of coconut oil. I just stick to the cup per ounce. I can take less gummies that way.
I've reran oil 3 times. 1oz of weed and I used enough oil to cover the flower completely. And then I used the final product and reran it with more weed and did this again. So it was 3oz per 2 cups or something like that? I'd use a 1/4 cup when making a batch of gummies. It would be like 400 gummy bears a batch and 3 of them would rock you. I made this almost a year ago and still have a half cup of oil. It was technically tincture on a 8hr run with vegetable glycerin.
2oz larf or trim
What do you do with the coconut oil? I want to make a tincture so bad can't find ANY info on it on Reddit only butter 😭
I use it to make edibles. I've never tried tinctures yet, but if I was going to make one I would use everclear.
