I've used this recipe 5-6 times now with great success each time. It's simple, effective, and tasty! The red ones each contain 10mg THC sourced from Redecan Reign Drops, and the yellow ones contain 5.5mg THC from Cove Rise oil. Directions below:
Items you will “need” (I say need because from my experience this will work the best. Results may vary based on your substitutions):
Spatula for stirring
Squeeze bottle https://www.oxo.com/chef-s-squeeze-bottles-6-ounces.html
Small sauce pot with a pourable lip/spout (non-stick would be best, but not required)
Soy or sunflower lecithin (I’ve used both soy and sunflower, powder and liquid - I don’t think it matters which variation you use). This helps emulsify or bind the THC oil with the water mixture, and apparently it helps your body absorb the THC better shrug
THC oil or distillate. Research which is your best solution. Distillate in vials are not available on the legal market, but the OCS sells a decent oil at an OK price: https://ocs.ca/products/reign-drops-30-0-redecan Using Distillate is flavourless and cheaper, but oils (if made from flower and not extract) should be full-spectrum and thus a different high than pure THC distillate.
Soft silicone mold(s). I use 3 of these per one batch of the recipe: https://www.michaels.com/gummy-bear-silicone-candy-mold-by-celebrate-it/10547736.html
Wire mesh cookie cooling tray
Measuring spoons/cups
Make a batch first without any THC so you can see how many gummies your molds make. The ones I linked above make roughly 65 per batch. You will need this number to properly calculate the amount of THC oil you will need to use.
Example: You want to make each gummy 10mg THC. That means you need 65*10=650mg total THC in the recipe. The Reign Drops I linked are 30mg THC/ml, so you will need 650/30=22ml of oil (rounded up). This is about 1.5 tablespoons of oil. It’s hard to properly emulsify lots of oil into the mixture, so it’s better to make them weaker and just eat more at a time than it is to make one gummy super strong. For example, the most I’ve put in is 22ml of oil and that took a lot of stirring to mix together.
Ingredients
THC oil/distillate
½ tsp lecithin (soy or sunflower, powder or liquid)
⅓ cup room-temperature water
¼ cup corn syrup
1 pkg Knox unflavored gelatin (7.2g)
1 pkg flavoured Jello (not sugar free) - my favorites are strawberry for indica and lemon for sativa
¼ tsp citric acid
Coconut oil cooking spray (Pam makes one easily available)
NOTE: any time I say to stir, try to minimize bubbles as much as possible!
Steps
Pour water into saucepan and add the lecithin and citric acid
Sprinkle the gelatin and the jello powder evenly over the top of the water and let it sit there without stirring.
Let that sit to allow the gelatin to bloom for about 5-10 minutes
Add the syrup to the water/jello mixture and gently stir together
Over medium-low heat, heat up the mixture while slowly stirring. Do this until the liquid becomes clear with no visible grains, until you start to see some foam appear along the edges. While stirring, keep scraping the side around the edge of the pot to prevent too much sticking.
Take it off the heat and start slowly pouring in your THC oil while stirring to combine into the water mixture. It might take upwards of 5 minutes of stirring to completely emulsify, depending on the source of THC (oil will take much longer compared to distillate)
Let it sit for 10 minutes, stirring every minutes or two slowly to maintain the emulsification and to prevent a skin from forming on top and along the edges
While it sits, VERY lightly spray the silicone molds with the coconut oil cooking spray (the less you spray on, the less you’ll have to rub off once they’re done. Try not spraying any into a few to see if you even need this next time)
Warm up the squeeze bottle under hot running water, then pour in the mixture, making sure to scrape out every last drop you can with the spatula!
Quickly and carefully fill your molds 9/10ths of the way full, shaking up the bottle every few molds to ensure the oil stays mixed properly
Let the molds sit for 30 minutes, then put them in the fridge for 30-60 minutes Hint - put some water into the squeeze bottle and shake it up and drink down the mixture that was stuck to the sides for a little bonus buzz :)
Take them out of their molds. Optional - wipe them down a bit with a cloth or paper towel to get as much of the coconut oil off as possible if you sprayed the molds
Set them onto your cooling tray and let them sit out in open air for 36+ hours, flipping them to other sides at least twice during that time
Toss them in a sugar/citric acid mixture (roughly 1/4tsp citric acid:1/4 cup sugar)
Store them in the fridge in a sealed container (I use a mason jar with a child-proof lid). With the sugar/citric acid in them, they should last 3+ months in the fridge.
Thanks for sharing! I will never do this but appreciate your efforts.
Also to note - total cost for one 10mg red gummie is $0.53. For 10mg yellow equivalent, the cost is $1.48 (due to the high cost of sativa oils). Compare that to the average cost of $8-9 for 10mg THC edibles on OCS and the 45 minutes of time it takes to make these makes it totally worthwhile, even when buying expensive legal oils. I'm always looking for advice on how to make cheaper full-spectrum extractions with approx. potency of 20-30mg THC/ml.
Looks great! Anyone know if there are plans to open the market up for bottled distillate? I figure we will eventually get there.

Cool shot of your creations!

How gummy are they compared to store bought candy? I made some simple jello gummies yesterday but the texture/chewyness isn't quite right
