What is the best way to decarb weed in a toaster oven?
Wondering what the ideal method of decarb is and how to know when it is done. I’ve noticed sometimes it sticks to tin foil and others it doesn’t. I am not being consistent my way need advice. Thank you.

240F for 30 - 60 min is an average decarb. 30 for a light decarb that tastes better or 60 min for a heavy decarb that's more potent at the cost of worsening the flavor a bit. 45 min is probably ideal since that's about when concentrate stops bubbling. The lack of bubbling indicates that the decarboxylation reaction is complete.
Heat up an oven safe glass dish in the toaster oven then set your roughly ground flower on it in a simple aluminum foil packet. The glass dish stores heat which should help with temp stability.
Roughly grinding it is good for reducing the weedy off taste if you choose to infuse an oil with it after decarb. Finely grinding it would expose more surface area of the plant material to the oil which shakes off more plant material/contaminates into the oil further worsening the weedy off taste.
You would want to finely grind it if you were limited to a very short decarb where it doesn't have much time exposed to the heat so more surface area exposed would be useful. You would have to be careful about agitating/stirring it during infusion to avoid shaking off plant material if it's finely ground. Stir as little as possible during infusion.
The aluminum foil packet seems to help retain more terps and possibly prevent THC from evaporating/vaping away but i don't have lab results to back that up. Might also help with temp stability. It's appears to be a bit more gentle that way.
Don't open the oven during decarb. That keeps the temp more stable. I aim for slightly sticky and a light brown.

chop up the buds on a baking sheet and put it in the toaster oven for 240F for 45mins
Wrap your coarsely chopped buds in parchment paper. Then put that envelope in another made of aluminum foil.
Now you can decarb in a toaster oven without worrying about burning your weed. 30 or so minutes at 230ish. You will have to experiment. Toaster ovens are wildly inconsistent and the setting for temperature means nothing.
When your room really really stinks, it is getting near done.
