Fragments are pieces of hidden items throughout the Origin System that can be found to unlock written and audiovisual lore that flesh out the setting of WARFRAME.
Mechanics[]
Most Fragments can be scanned with either a Codex or Synthesis Scanner, which will unlock artwork that can be found under the Universe tab of the Codex. The images unlocked with each Fragment can be used as decoration aboard the Orbiter, and will also have accompanying lore relating to the image.
Additionally, there is also a hidden point on each image that when hovered-over with the cursor will unlock a short audio transmission, which will narrate additional lore. An audio clue will help identify this point in the form of white noise, which becomes louder as the cursor is moved closer to the point.
Other types of Fragments only require players to interact with them (default X ) to acquire them.
Fragments[]
Cephalon Fragments[]

A Cephalon fragment
Cephalon Fragments are fragments of data found all around the Origin system, usually hidden in rooms during missions, visualized as hovering blue data blocks. With the exception of the Kuva Fortress, each navigable planet, moon, or location (including the Void and Deimos) in the Origin System will have from two to three unlockable fragments, each requiring between 3 and 7 scans to complete.
During missions, the Cephalon Fragment will appear on the mini-map as a blue quadruple diamond if the players are using loot radar mods. Scanning a fragment will unlock a portion of the associated artwork. Cephalon Fragments may be found up to once per mission and will spawn in a random place of the map on most missions, with the exception of Defense, Interception, and Archwing missions which will never contain a fragment. They reveal info about various aspects of the Origin System, such as Factions, Characters, and Planets.
Decrypting these fragments reveals Ordis' Past, narrated by Ordis.
Thousand-Year Fish Fragments[]

A Thousand-Year Fish fragment
Thousand-Year Fish Fragments are 20 small fish statues made of white luminescent glass scattered in hidden places all throughout the Plains of Eidolon. They reveal the history, culture, and customs of Cetus and the Plains of Eidolon. Their Codex entries are identified by their blue coloring.
Decrypting these fragments reveals the Tale of the Woman of the Earth and the Husband of the Sea, narrated by Onkko.
Glass Shard Fragments[]

A Glass Shard fragment
Glass Shard Fragments are 5 pieces of the Shatter-lock Key that players scan and thus collect automatically during the Saya's Vigil Quest. Their Codex entries are identified by their yellow coloring.
Decrypting these fragments reveals the Gara Legend, narrated by Onkko.
Encrypted Journal Fragments[]

A Encrypted Journal Fragment
The Encrypted Journal Fragments of the Corpus researcher Sigor Savah are available as possible uncommon stage-rewards during Ghoul Purge Bounties or as drops from Ghoul enemies. They reveal info of the Grineer Ghouls, as well as interviews from various Cetus citizens about fighting the Ghouls.
Decrypting these fragments reveals the story of Specimen VK-7, narrated by Sigor Savah.
Nakak Memory Fragments[]
Given as part of the Revenant quest, Mask of the Revenant, Nakak offers three Fragments during the mission interactions.
Decrypting these fragments reveals the Revenant Legend, narrated by Nakak.
Fortuna Fragments[]

A Fortuna fragment
The Fortuna Fragments are various Mem-Fragment logs that are scattered and hidden throughout the Orb Vallis, which visually resemble Debt-Bonds. These Fragments contain background information regarding the various NPC's that inhabit Fortuna.
Decrypting these fragments reveals Solaris United History, narrated by various Solari (Eudico, Legs, Little Duck, etc).
Partnership Fragments (Corpus Gas City)[]

The Tenets (Corpus Ship)[]

A Corpus Temple Relief with interactable console in center
The Tenets are Corpus lore fragments obtained by paying tribute via Granum Crown to the Corpus Temple Reliefs (large fountain altars of Parvos Granum), in the Corpus Ship tileset. They tell the tale of Parvos Granum's life before he became the Corpus Founder and his rise to power.
Decrypting these fragments reveals The Tenets, narrated by Parvos Granum.
Lost Islands of Duviri Fragments[]

A Lost Islands of Duviri Fragment
The Lost Islands of Duviri are small archival audio drives that are scattered around the floating islands of Duviri.
Each archive entry requires 9 Fragments to be completed. Fragments in Duviri can be localized by their distinct musical sound.
These Fragments reveal the story of Duviri's Lost Islands, narrated by Acrithis.
Albrecht's Notes[]

A page of Albrecht's Grimoire
Albrecht's Notes are pages of his Grimoire that have materialized inside his Laboratories.
These pages can be found by interacting with a Whisper Grimoire, and unbinding the Whispers within. After slaying either a Mocking Whisper or Scathing Whisper, and banishing it back into the tome, it has a 50% chance (in steel path is 50%) to drop a page containing Albrecht's Notes.
Entries one and two require 6 pages, entries three and four require 5 pages, and the last one requires one page. They will always drop in order. They tell the story of what happened after the first voyage into the Void, narrated by Albrecht Entrati.
Somachord Fragments[]
- Main article: Somachord
A Somachord Tone fragment
Somachord Tones are parts of a song scattered throughout the Origin System. Four parts are required to completely unlock a playable track of background music in the Orbiter's Somachord, which is located in the Personal Quarters.
They are identified as purple bars arranged in a semicircular arc, reminiscent of the Mandachord's note table. Similar to Cephalon Fragments they are found on every location in the Solar system after the completion of The War Within quest and are identifiable by a unique purple icon on the mini-map if equipped with a Loot Radar mods. They will not spawn unless one member of the squad has completed the Personal Quarters Segment, but can be scanned by anyone regardless of whether they have unlocked their Personal Quarters.
Frame Fighter Fragments[]

A Frame Fighter fragment
- Main article: Frame Fighter
Frame Fighter Character Data are used to unlock respective new Frames in the Frame Fighter minigame and spawn once a player has unlocked the Ludoplex. Only one of these fragments are required to unlock one character for use in the fighting game.
They are identified as a blue, floating orb. Similar to Cephalon Fragments and Somachord Tones they can be found on every location in the solar system. Anyone can scan them regardless of whether they have the minigame or not.
Prex Cards[]

Prex Card of Gauss
Prex Cards are cards that depict an artwork of a Warframe. Prex Cards are found mostly in the Leverian, with each Warframe's gallery having its own unique Prex Card to find. These cards will only show up in the gallery once a player has leveled up the appropriate Warframe to level 30 (e.g. a player must level an Atlas to level 30 to reveal Atlas' Prex Card in his gallery), and the cards will usually be hidden in hard-to-see corners of the gallery. Once found, players can interact with the card to pick them up.
When acquired, Prex Cards can be used as Decorations in the Orbiter.
Notes[]
- While Fragments will continue to appear for players after completing their sets, players will be unable to scan the Fragments.
- Players must complete the mission for the scan to be counted.
- The Synthesis Scanner's Cross-Matrix Widget will not trigger when scanning Fragments.
- Cephalon Fragments share their spawn locations with Syndicate Medallions, meaning the two can occasionally overlap.
- Junctions requiring you to scan Cephalon fragments will be completed regardless of mission failure or success.
- Although serving a similar function as Fragments and revealing a story encoded within scannable objects, Kurias are treated as a separate item and are listed in the Objects section of the Codex.
- It is possible for any combination of Cephalon Fragment, Somachord Fragment, and Frame Fighter Fragment to appear in the same mission, although it is much more common for only one of them to appear.
Tips[]

Distance of the fragment using Loot Detector, Thief's Wit, and Coaction Drift
- Loot Radar Mods make Cephalon Fragments, Somachord Tunes, and Frame Fighter Fragments appear on the mini-map and, as they are classified as loot objects, they can be detected from greater distances by increasing the Loot Radar stat. By equipping the
Loot Detector,
Thief's Wit, and
Coaction Drift mods, the fragments will be much easier to find. This also works with the companion mod
Animal Instinct.
- Use the Codex Scanner's and Synthesis Scanner's pinging sounds to detect fragments in an area. Make sure to dispatch all enemies and destroy all containers within said area to make use of this method.
- Increase sound effects volume and turn down the music volume to make the pinging sounds clearer to hear.
- Helios can scan fragments automatically if the player is within range of
Investigator.
Media[]
Bugs[]
- Scanning fragments at the same time as Helios will increment counter excessively and glitch out a fragment's progression.
- There is a bug that causes many of the secret audio messages to be below the screen on many of the fragments, and this appears to have been caused by an update to the UI. This bug is common but hasn't been acknowledged by DE.

Update 35.0 (2023-12-13)
Codex Fragments: Albrecht’s Notes
Much has unfolded within the confines of Albrecht’s Laboratories and he made sure to document the events of his research in great detail. These notes are bound tightly within his Grimoire, which can materialize in the Laboratories, but be forewarned... unbinding it and looking into Albrecht’s lost notes summons something that cannot be easily banished. If you are successful in eliminating it, a note from Albrecht’s Grimoire may be left behind in its stead.

Bro,im killing the whispers in steel path and dont drop the pages with 100%,change this
Bro,im killing the
I finished with this video. Easy way. Warframe - All Plains of Eidolon "Thousand Year Fish Fragment" Locations (AFTER "The New War")
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7Mu4EFgmA0
Something about this page in particular crashes my browser. every other page ive visited has been fine... i dont get it but something is broken here..
Ok ive reasiled its the - E I G H T E E N - embedded videos. Jesus, can a mod clean this up or something thats rediculous for a browser to load every time you visit the page
Nvm spoke too soon, even after turning the videos off my browser was still eating 100% of my CPU. I deleted the map thing with all the locations element from the page and now my PC is functioning again. huzzah
Came here to see what locations I can find certain codex entries, such as "robotics," and "Corpus," but was mildly disappointed. I assume these can be found in the tilesets of the planet entry just before those?
The fragments are based on the planet yes. There is no specific location where they are guaranteed to spawn on a map. Though there are set possible fragment spawn locations on tilesets, these are randomly chosen.
It lists the planet associated with the fragment, then you just have to get lucky for them to spawn. It's best to run rescues, captures, sabotage, and nightmare missions to get different tile layouts in my experience.
Does anyone know anything about the undiscovered 12th fragment under Prex?
Anyone knows why partner number 6 cant find anymore? the tileset change or what. Just need this 1 more scan
Me and my friend didn't have Archaic Weapons scanned.
We found only scannable fragments on Terminus - Mars (Crossfire Sabotage).
We have the rest of the fragments from Mercury.
We used Golden Instinct (last, 13th, Helminth's uniqe skill) at the beggining of mission to check, if there is any skannable fragment. 2 times the map generated tileset without scannable fragments.
Maybe someone will find this information useful. :)
Just a heads up, Golden Instinct has a range of effect, so it won't always detect fragments from spawn.
View Ticker's Memory Fragments List №4
Located inside the head and cannot be scanned
It can be scanned during Vox Solaris quest, You can replay this quest from codex but you must finish whole quest, otherwise it will not be added to codex.
The Tiker Fragment moved in here now:
Bro you're a live saver
Noticed a blank spot near the Prex cards after The New War?
Not only that, under the prex card tab under codex it IS part of the prex card leverian...wonder if we're getting a new leverian soon or is there one hidden somewhere?
Caliban has a prex card
Know how to access it?
Somewhere in drifter camp
They added Sevagoth's frame fighter fragment, this page should be updated about it I suppose, I found it on Pluto
I have all the Frame Fighter data and have also been rewarded the poster for it. So why the list of Frame Fighter Warframes still shows me a single question mark, as if I were still missing ONE Frame? 🤔
The question mark chooses a random frame from the ones you own
Anyone else having issues with the Partner fragments? Namely #1 and #5. I have been trying to get those two for a few weeks now but I haven't had any luck. It's like to Warframe gods don't want me to finish my fragment scans.
Same exact issue here. Just those two as well. I suspect they're more common or only appear at all in certain mission types. On a side note, do you think it's intended that Golden Instinct doesn't work on Partner, Solaris, and Somachord fragments? I was quite annoyed to find that out.
I'm hoping we can get somachord fragments for the theme that plays on login as of the corpus railjack update cause I'm really liking the track.
Why is it all so well hidden that almost no one would ever see it? huge loss for the game, while may players complaining there is not enough lore and story
Frame Fighter, SOmachord, and default Fragments are marked on the map if you have item radar, the rest are to reward/encourage taking your time and exploring the detailed maps.
Easy if you simply go with Helios. Randomly, you'll get one fragment sometimes.
Loot Detector + Coaction Drift + Thief's wit on Khora Primed animal instinct on Venari Primed Animal Instinct on Sentinel / Pet
MAXIMUM LOOT RANGE You might want to open big map to look at loot icons. Minimap doesn't fit it all.
Edit: Formatting.
Loot Detector + Coaction Drift + Thief's wit on Khora
Primed animal instinct on Venari
Primed Animal Instinct on Sentinel / Pet
How big is that
BIG
deimos music isnt on here oddly, and i cant seem to find any music from the plains of eidolon either- its just orb vallis thats lsited as having music for the open worlds- that has to be an oversight
Deimos probably just isn't added *yet* given how much content is slated for later updates, not sure why Cetus/PoE doesn't have Somachord music though.
Do you have to be ranked 30 to find fragments? Just recently finished The War Within so I can now scan Somachord fragments and I've found a few here and there. But I also just acquired Limbo so I figured I'd take him through Earth to level him up and get the Somachords along the way. I've run E-Prime 4 times with a fully loaded Theif's Wit and haven't seen a somachord, Cephalon, or Frame Fighter fragment in any run. So I have to wonder if I'm not seeing any because my Limbo is only rank 12 or do they just not appear on the super low level E-Prime?
OP edit - just ran Elion on Mercury and found a Somachord fragment so I either had bad luck on E-Prime or there are some hidden areas I'm still unaware of. Carry on.
now how tf some players have acquired 12 tenets deco??
There is a pyramid in the new ship tileset
Kill everyone near it and use a coin to get the tenet and the codex scan for it
Tip: the sergeant boss fight is the easiest way to farm them because he normally spawns there
For those farming the corpus tenets, DO NOT spend more than 1 coin per mission if you find more than 1 piramid location in a mission, you will not get 2 different fragments, you'll get the same 2 times
