Oh, Butterfly Slash doesn't open up Ground Finishers, btw, it opens up standing finishers.
Accounted for in new stance table format, thanks.
This stance is super quick without much in the way of drawn out attacks now. It's swift and without fiddliness in a way that makes blend into gunfighting better than the other single dagger stances, imo.
Agreed! Stinging Thorn and Homing Fang are terrible! Attack and *wait* for the attack animation to finish with those two... yuck.
The +300% bonus dmg is the only thing this stance has. Sadly, because i prefer it's anims to Stinging Thorn's.
As another Tenno below commented, the Alad V fight on Jupiter features a spawning area that specifically generates Moas of various types, with Shockwaves having a fair chance to be part of the squad. Most squads have one, sometimes there's two, and sometimes none.
Maybe I was just lucky, but I got it after 45m. Contrary to the old thread's suggestion however, I didn't afk with a companion... just went in with my good buddy Inaros configured (mostly) for speed and ability range and remained active the whole time. I found something resembling a pattern where I'd kill the moas as quickly as they spawned in the boss area, ran back into the adjacent room and killed whatever spawned there, then backtracked to said arena. I don't know the exact numbers, but I can tell the enemy spawn rate/location depends mostly on a timer that can be influenced by entering/leaving rooms. With the method I used it seemed I was able to keep the Moa machine triggering as often as possible, maybe someone who knows more about the spawn factors in particular could chime in (it would help a lot for people trying to farm mods from specific enemies like this)
where can i find pointed wind ?
Fucking read
Calm down, he wanted the optimal place to find those enemies
Transmutation is a fair method as well.
...So this this the dagger version of Crimson Dervish
So the question is, Pointed Wind or Homing Fang? I ask both in terms of ease-of-use and in terms of flat DPS. I'd be willing to drop an extra Forma into Rakta Dark Dagger if Pointed Wind is truly superior to Homing Fang. What does everybody think?
OP again: Hey man, no need to be hostile about it. I've never had an issue with melee auto-target. If my cursor is on an enemy, my lunge will direct to them, if it's not on an enemy (like between arm and torso), my lunge will over-shoot. Perhaps that's why it seems buggy to you? Either way, it certainly works well with Valkyrs' Hysteria, and it is a convenient way for Assimilate Nyx to travel while invulnerable (Primed Fury + a mash-the-melee-key macro built into the mouse = a bit quicker than basic running). It's still not as fast as rapid bullet-jumps, but there's somthing to be said for complete invincibility.
This one is better both in terms of use and DPS, look at those damage multipliers and see why it turns the Rakta Dark Dagger into a good weapon.
Don't listen to these guys, Pointed wind is good, because of the multipliers, but it's only raw damage thet will be severely mitigated by armor later on, It's good if you have a hihg Status chance to use corrosive. But Homing Fang has forced Slash procs, coupled with a high status chance you can have a Condition Overload build which will not only increase the total damage of the normal strikes but will create stronger slash procs. Makes for fine side build to Pointed Wind, this and it also allows you to use the Relentless Combination mod(that one with slash procs adding to combo meter).
on hits harder (bigger multi) the other has lots of rapid spinning attacks. depends on if you want to hit harder or have more chances at procing something.
It also denotes Dark dagger.
why is this so hard to find? how much is this in plat?
Any where from 4 - 15 unranked, though it seems there are those selling it for about 30 max ranked. It only drops from Shockwave MOAs at a very low rate, so that might be why you're having trouble.
There should be a stance to slit someone's throat super quick assassins creed style, idc about good combos, in fact.
Pointed Wind got a new move now, Butterfly Slash, can be done by holding E momentarily
eh, it's look like this stance got Charge Attack like back then Melee 1.0... different animation tho
With 100% slash proc, most importantly.
Pft, daggers. The shittiest type of melee in this game. Seriously, all daggers are pure shit. Even the dual ones.
You can even insta-kill some bosses, like the Sergeant for example.
Even without the stealth finisher, that extra 100 base damage does wonders.
Daggers can't open for finishers unlike swords or nikanas that also oneshot lvl 130 heavy gunners. I've seen exactly one mission where daggers Covert Lethality really outshined everything else - the resent lvl 9999 corpus survival alert for orokin reactor.
Daggers are actually really good and one the only melee weapons capable of performing close to heavy weapons. Yeah you'll do more with heavy weapons but daggers are such a nice change of pace and the insta-kill finisher damage is just icing on the cake.
which stance is better? i only have homing fang but am debating on farming this one.
i love homing fangs movment and anims.. buut if im reading t his one right.. basic combo has a double melee hit for 400% dmg o_o
im talking purely which one dose more dmg.. and which one is faster really. to be specific..
or dose the other have a hidden benefit? ( with my karyst i can seem to stack both bleed and toxin on the target no matter the element.. so thats good i guess)
This one deals more damage and is faster. The other one has more AoE (but it's a friggin' dagger).
Homing Fang is decent because of how many hits it can put out, but it just doesn't compare to Pointed Wind. The second strike in the combo hits for 8x damage over two swings, closely followed by 3x damage over two swings at headshot height, rounded out with a double damage spin. And this combo is FAST for how hard it hits. The only benefit to Homing Fang is being able to strike multiple targets several times to build combo counter, but Pointed Wind can still do that reasonably well and hit like a truck at the same time.
Assuming every hit in Pointed Wind's basic combo and Homing Fang's longest combo (the two that really stand out) makes contact, Pointed Wind is going to do the same amount of damage in a combo that takes half the time and can hit weak points. No contest.
I do not know why nobody has pointed this out.
To farm for this Mod, do the Assassination mission on Jupiter; Alad V.
Kill the prick, then afk in the arena with a Sentinel that kills things well.
Shockwave MOAs continuously spawn at low levels; so just grind there by afk.
Of the thousands upon thousand of shockwave MOAs I have killed upon using Diriga pre-nerf, no. Not a single one.
Huh, I've seen a kubrow named Buttstallion before. Was yours?
Tried this once, forgot that it doesn't work if the alarms aren't triggered. Whooops. I'll try it again at some point. But I doubt that 1 hour of afk will be more than the tens of thousands of them I've killed in all my play time, for no drops yet.
OK, well while this method does work, it's still going to take an insanely long time. I did it for 6 hours today. Got a dozen Neural Sensors, a couple thousand focus, and 1 r5 core. But so far from a stance it's ridiculous.
I used a Specter with a Synoid Simulor. Had her hold position on top of the doulble crate, and she killed everything. And a max range Frost put up a bubble that covered the entire spawning area as well has her position, to slow enemies and protect from anyone wandering in from the hallway.
Chesa kubrow on the other hand was awful. After a few seconds of me being idle, it goes idle too and just ignores enemies and doesn't retrive either. And if it stops in the wrong position it seems to block the specter. One time before finding the right positions, I looked away for a few minutes and then came back to find the specter dead, the kubrow bleeding out, and myself getting shot by 8 enemies. So next run will be with good-ol Carrier.
Still, this is feeling like a chore I have to do before going to sleep every night. No way will it yield the stance in any reasonable time. Classic DE grind.
price check ?
15p, less if you find the right buyer. (going to say this pre-emptively, but if you want to organise a trade through wikia please use the wikia forums. Thanks and good luck).
Got this on Elara (Corpus Survival), Jupiter during Nekros solo-run.
This thing needs another combo at least ._.
yea.... polearm stances
works for me.. i usualy only wind up using two combos out of it ( tho oddly i use three on the other dagger stance... shrug)
its usualy either only one combo matters ( cleaving whirlwind) , they are so ridcuoulous to get off... or i just plain forget about them ( the whip stance combos...)
Just got this on Jupiter, Io, defense
Man, how many robots do I have to dismember to get this stupid thing? Don't know how many hours I put into corpus survival and still don't have this thing. This mod is a myth...
Transmutation™ my friend. That's how I got most of my stances and every "lol 0.0000001% drop rate" mod.
Does this even drop, been doing Jupiter survival elara. Is there a better place to get this?
just got it from a defence mission alert on seda i think . droped in the mission not as a reward
