Magus Aggress is an Arcane Enhancement for the Operator that, on Warframe Melee Transfer, causes Heavy Blades and Hammers to deal bonus Critical Multiplier for the next 4 attacks, with a 20 second cooldown.
Effect[]
Rank | Critical Damage Bonus | Consecutive Attacks | Cooldown |
---|---|---|---|
0 | +50% | 4 | 20s |
1 | +100% | 4 | 20s |
2 | +150% | 4 | 20s |
3 | +200% | 4 | 20s |
4 | +250% | 4 | 20s |
5 | +300% | 4 | 20s |
Acquisition[]
- May appear as a The Circuit's The Steel Path Tier 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, or +11 reward on a weekly rotational basis.
- May be sold by Acrithis for 10
Pathos Clamp on a daily rotational basis, requiring Drifter Intrinsics Opportunity Rank 9 for the arcanes to appear in her shop.
- May drop from Undercroft portals in The Duviri Experience while on Steel Path.
Notes[]
- Bonus is additive to mods such as
Organ Shatter.
Bugs[]
- Works on
Whipclaw,
Landslide,
Shattered Lash, and
Slash Dash, without consuming charges.
- The buff does not work on melee Exalted Weapons, although these won't expend charges either.
- Works on Hammers despite specifying Heavy Blades. Does not work on Ghoulsaw or Heavy Scythes, the other weapons classified as "heavy" by DE.

It does indeed work with hammers but the in-game description only refers to Heavy Blades
Theres so many better option arcanes than this one... This one need rework or buff. Or just change it to new ability entirely.
That 20 second cooldown....
Traditionally, buffs like these are designed to bonk bosses, but as every boss in warframe these days has dmg attenuation....yeah its kinda bad.
Pretty much still exists the way it does so SlamKong's can deal yet more damage.
Combine with melee retaliation for some big numbers. 300% crit damage plus 420% melee damage.
though the term itself is linked to the standard Melee page, still wondering: WHAT THE HECK IS A MELEE TRANSFERENCE ?
Its when you press melee button while in operator.
It will bring you back to your warframe and performs melee attack right away
It should be important to stress: THE COOLDOWN IS ON ACTIVATION. That means you can reactivate it while having x amount of stacks of Magus Aggress, the cooldown is only active when you activate Magus Aggress, not when you use up all of your four hits, making it seem a lot better than it actually is.
It's also important to note it only uses up stacks whenever the melee attack hits an enemy, otherwise stacks are preserved. Additionally, a stack is used up PER melee attack, and NOT per melee damage instance, i.e. Cleaving Whirlwind hits three enemies twice, but it will only consume one stack of Magus Aggress.
It's a rather deceptively good arcane, pairs rather well with Gram Prime for more Slash proc damage.
I think the issue here is that it's specifically only Heavy Swords (and Hammers) Same issue as Arcane Tempo and Acceleration, because they're too damn specific to use an arcane slot for when there's so many other better choices.
"it only uses up stacks whenever the melee attack hits an enemy"
Not in the case of zenistar
As noted, works on Heavy Blades and Hammers, but not the other two "heavy melee", Ghoul Saw and Heavy Scythes.
Also didn't work on Exalted Blade or Valk's claws with the buff active, although those don't burn charges either. I haven't tried the other exalted melee, though it'd be very strange if any work.
Unfortunate, doesn't work with Heavy Scythes. No extra power for Corufell.
Just had to check since the in-game description only mentions "Heavy Blades" but also works with Hammers in addition to Heavy Blades.
Useless due to cooldown. Like who the hell decided it was a good call to even add that, lmao.
Does this work on a stat stick?
Was thinking of khora or something
It does work without consuming a charge :D
2k > 3k dmg but not yet max rank arcane as well as no damage/str mods, pretty good as free damage on a specific camping khora build
Khora with magistar incarnon.
Yeah, but why does it have a cooldown? Who looked at this without its cooldown and said "this is way too OP we need to add a 20 second cooldown"?
> Implying that this arcane would be worth using if it didn't had a cooldown.
This thing is padding, a worthless item just to fill up the reward table so they can pretend they actually released significant content, just like the other useless stuff that they pad the game with such as mods like warm coat and all of the mastery fodder weapons.
Requires a very precise input to activate.
Specifically for one category of Melees.
With a 20 second cooldown.
For only 4 hits.
Outside of the Heavy Blades that have no gimmicks and/or gimmicks outside of combat, you have...
Tenet Exec, which has shockwaves on slam. Most likely will consume a charge per projected shockwaved.
Vitrica, which can fire a shard that glasses enemies. Detonates them massive Slash damage via ground slam. Most likely consumes charges upon enemies hit by the wave emitted by ground slam.
Sarofang... if you're crazy enough to use it's gimmick, it probably won't even be applicable.
Zenistar, which can deploy a firey disc. Knowing the weird stature of Zenistar, it will either have ZERO effect or effect the disc the entire time.
I'm going to test these (except Sarofang) out in the simulacrum and I swear... it's probably gonna be even more disappointing than I thought.
So it turns out there's a sliiiight grace period between each hit.
Works kinda like Health Conversion in a way.
... still very specific and I'd recommend to just about nobody.
This is coming from someone who very much enjoys Heavy Blades.
What's even weirder is that this update came with 5 melee weapons, and NONE of them are actually a Heavy Blade, so I dunno why the fuck DE chose that one specific weapon type that already hits like a damn truck. I bet this is gonna get a change down the line to just be melee weapons in general. Hopefully maybe.
Honestly, I feel like DE just slapped some random numbers on... found it too powerful and than slapped a further arbitrary cooldown on there instead of putting two and two together as to why.
Easiest solution to fix it would be as follows:
Remove the cooldown. Entirely. That's precisely what kills it here. Especially 20 seconds.
Make it 2 or 3 hits. DO keep in mind that there is a slight "grace period" for it activating so you can get multiple hits with one charge after all.
Reduce the buff amount to 25%/50%/75%/100%/125%/150% (in accordance to rank). It does nerf it's overall potency, but being easier to apply makes it far more applicable overall.
(OPTIONAL) ... remove the Heavy Blade specification. It's just silly.
Of course, I'm just working with what I got. I'd still think this Arcane is a bit niche in use, but it's at least more "usable" in that case.
Especially if using Naramon.
Why? Fuck, they just give zero fucks about the quality of the arcanes they are releasing now.
You smoking something? Since Zariman we've been getting some pretty solid arcanes each update. Yes there are still plenty of stinkers, but as a whole the newer arcanes are considerably better than the Eidolon or Arbitration ones (mostly because of how diluted those drop tables are).
You gotta be trolling if you actually read the description for the arcane on this page and are actually telling me that releasing shit like this is actually ok.
Mald
Is it a flat increase or adds it to the base? This would be good for a Zaw with Exodia Contagion.
No Heavy Blade type Zaws
2h Dokrahm
Just wanna say holy dmg if u combine it with Dokrahm 'heavy blade" and the use chroma max vex XD
It oneshots everything ... well almost everything at least
And once again cool idea, but with bad stats.
What a bizarre set of restrictions, I can't think of any cases I'd even bother except for maybe Vitrica heavy slams. If the whole wave+shatter only costs one stack then yeah I could fuck with this
4 times -> 20 sec cd - What about no
Feels like this should be a Melee arcane (which we don't have currently).
Could make for a fun build with Naramon and heavy attacks.
