The Ocucor is a
Corpus beam pistol incorporating
Sentient technology, releasing energy tendrils on kills that assault the closest target.
Characteristics[]
- This weapon deals primarily
Radiation damage. - Damage ramps up from 20% to 100% over 0.6 seconds when firing. After firing stops for 0.8 seconds, the damage decays back to 20% over 2 seconds.
- Kills with this weapon releases an energy tendril that can home-in on enemies close to the targeting reticle, up to a maximum of 4 tendrils.
- Tendrils lock on to enemies within 40 degrees of the reticle. Tendrils will stay locked on until enemies are 60 or more degrees away from the reticle.
- Tendrils disappear upon reloading or emptying the magazine.
- Can equip the Ocucor-exclusive
Sentient Surge mod.
Advantages over other Secondary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Pinpoint accuracy.
Magnum Force's accuracy penalty is minimal on this weapon.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- High magazine (60)
- High ammo max (300)
- High fire rate (12.00 attacks/sec)
- Above average status chance (24.00%)
Disadvantages over other Secondary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Very inefficient ammo economy.
- Limited range of 20 meters for both the main beam and the tendrils.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- Very low total damage (11)
- Below average crit multiplier (1.80x)
See WARFRAME Wiki:Stat Comparison/Percentiles for more details.

Notes[]
- Tendrils are generated by killing an enemy with direct damage of the primary beam, or through status effects dealing damage (e.g. Heat's burning effect). Status kills will generate a tendril regardless of if they originated from the primary beam or a tendril. Direct kills with tendrils will not generate an additional tendril.
- Tendril base damage is the same as the primary beam. Tendrils can score critical hits and status effects independent of the primary beam.
- Tendrils homing in on the main beam's target are only cosmetic, and don't deal any additional damage or status effects.
- Tendril range is affected by
Ruinous Extension. - Tendrils reset if the reloading process is started or the magazine reaches zero. Even if reloading is cancelled or the weapon is holstered, the tendrils will still vanish.
Tips[]
- Magazine refill effects such as reloading upon holster (from the Synth Mod Set or
Eject Magazine),
Blood Forge, or kills with
Sentient Surge or the
Ack & Brunt Incarnon Genesis's Rogue Readiness perk will prevent the tendrils from disappearing. - Tendrils aim for the torso, and as such cannot trigger
Arcane Pistoleer. However, it can still be triggered from the main beam, massively increasing the Ocucor's ammo efficiency and time between reloads.
Trivia[]
- The Sentient component of this weapon appears to be a modified Shwaak Prism, particularly with the "arm" that connects the Prism to a given Amp removed. The energy tendrils themselves however are more similar to the Klebrik Scaffold.
- Though Ocucor is a secondary firearm, there is a ring that looks similar to Jai Link attached to it. This aesthetic is shared with
Battacor and
Kreska.
- According to Lucas Hug's concept art however, the rings are merely carabiners meant for easy transport.
- The Ocucor's name, like the Battacor, seems to be a portmanteau, incorporating Oculyst (a Sentient enemy) and the suffix -cor, seen in some other Corpus weapons.

From October 2 to November 1 2024, the augment mod Sentient Surge will be available at the Daughter shop in Deimos during the Nights of Naberus event for the price of 50 mother token.
This monster with Sentient Surge + Arcane Avenger + Arcane Velocity + dmg ability like Roar + appropriate elements depending on faction, easily is the fastest kpm weapon in the game solely because when the tendrils are up (in fact you only need 1 kill to get it started), the weapon works like Larkspur so you only have to roughly aim at enemy direction and the beams will automatically hit them and zap them to death in 0,1 nanoseconds. Also works very nice in Arbitrations, just aim roughly at drone direction and vaporize it immediately. Once you get used to the ammo management (in fact just dont waste ammo by holding the shoot button longer than needed, enemies literally die immediately with above mentioned setup^^) you wont get a faster kpm rate with any other weapon.
Somebody's vandalizing the notes on this and I keep getting notifications for it because I added info on it before, lol. No idea what to do.
People salty in the comments get to feel how i felt when i missed the efficient beams nightwave, get bent
Graa i missed out on a good thing once now i'm going to support time-gating because i'm a sour loser
Can tendrils hit the same target with main beam? So 5x damage on single target?
3rd bullet point under the notes section - no
This is a nifty little gun with sentient surge. I didn't expect much of it at first other than being a lesser kuva nukor or tenet cycron.
Yeah its insane, better than pre-nerf nukor
No wonder secondary encumbered procs way more often, each tendril is its own individual thing, galvanized shot on this thing is golden.
A fun weapon with the mod but it is still radioactive-based....
Addendum: I tried the heat viral crit build and that still doesnt do well in higher level survival. it is not bad but there are far better 2ndaries out there than this.
Ocucor is insane wdym. Modded correctly it can easily take on level 6k+ enemies. It's even more busted on Hydroid now cause of his new broken passive
They were right lol. Ocucor is a very good gun but there's definitely other secondary options that are better. This gun doesn't hit it's full potential unless you have the mod from last years nightwave which now goes for hundreds of plat bc people know it'll probably be years before it comes back. Outside of ranking this gun up once for the mastery don't even bother if you're a newer player. Just go get either a Kuva Nukor or a Tenet Cycron. Doesn't matter which one either bc they're both easy to get and they both easily outperform ocucor by a country mile.
The problem i have with Cycron is the battery recharge thing. Ocucor has a decent dispo and i have a kinda good riven to pair with sentient surge (+mag, +cold, +cd and -recharge time). I dont even have to bother with ammo, when i get the first kill, i clean all the room and never recharge again
Note. Tendrils do not auto home on thralls (probably same for accuse too) if you want to keep them alive.
General thing with Thralls, as they are tagged as Allies not Enemies.
I really like this gun with Frost. His 4 spread cold status which is really good for crit and galvanized shot not to mention his 4 also strip armor. For the cherry on top nourish to spam your 4 and further destroy striped armor enemies. Its shit against acolyte tho, so when you see one swap your gun
You can use this weapon with saryn, very perfect
It takes a little effort to get it going at the start of each mission, but with Sentient Surge and Cascadia Flare, this thing rips through Steel Path runs without ever reloading.
Weird weapon lol
Note. Does not make 12 homing beams with hall of mirrors. only 3 main and 4 homing.
So another weapon i will not use as mirage main ....
Sentient Surge is great but unfortunately this thing's low base stats are kinda hurting it.
Regardless, hearing the constant "crackcrackcrack" from killing multiple enemies with this thing is just... mmm satisfying.
It does pretty well in steel path, provided you actually get the thing going. (and pack something else for acolytes).
Stuff like Kuva Nukor is clearly still stronger, but there is definitely something to be said about the even damage distribution accross enemies, rather good ammo efficiency and lack of a need to actually aim in order to deal nice damage.
@Ladyvan Oh yeah, when all 4 tendrils are active it's just crazy how I can sit back and let it do all the work for me. Idk I feel a bigger dopamine hit with it than I do w/ Kuva Nukor and the like.
Sure wish it had a bigger critical multiplier or better base damage though. A man can only dream...
I got a riven with MS and heat, and omg. 3.3 MS is melting everything down. Cascadia Flare or Secondary Encumber, simply gorgeous. Built for viral and heat + inate radiation.
Melting everything down at SP.
Anyone know if the Ack & Brunt Incarnon reload on melee kill resets the tendrils?
Tested it myself to confirm it, it does NOT reset the tendrils when it fully reloads with Rogue Readiness; also added it to the article.
A very low performance gimmick weapon coming out with a bandaid mod from nightwave. At the very least, it will allow it to crit and deal status about twice as often depending on the build and reload its ammo passively, though im curious if this ammo refill will be magic ammo, or take from your ammo pool to do so.
It takes from your reserve ammo.
Oh I didn't realize this! I guess it would be too op if it just had effectively infinite ammo though.
Just slap on ammo mutation and you're set honestly. Even with Merulina Guardian active I actually had to try to run out of ammo.
"At the very least" - this thing nukes everything fast as fook,no reloading SP survival complete without a single reload and does it with ease.
Holstering this removes all Tendrils.
Keep in mind that if the reload process even begins, or if the magazine reaches zero, the tendrils will still reset. Even if the reload is canceled or the weapon is holstered after the magazine has been emptied, but before reloading, the tendrils will still reset.
That might have happened, since the weapon itself reloads passively while holstered, this whole ode is part of the mechanic of this weapon.
Great weapon with a riven. cant wait for augment.
Use riven to fill in gaps of the weapon
Coming with Nightwave vol.4 :
Ocucor Weapon Augment
Sentient Velocity: Each target eliminated refills 20% of Ocucor magazine.
Increase Status Chance and Critical Chance by 60% for each Tendrils active.
Secondary Encumber, this augment, and maybe some punch through or fire rate will make this thing obscenely powerful. Top tier primer, absurd crowd damage post Galvanized, and no longer needing Garuda to keep uptime. Delicious.
Its sentient surge not velocity
It was described as Sentient Velocity when first announced. Can't edit though. Thanks for letting us know :)
Secondary Encumber isn't that strong, since multishot doesn't actually increase ticks.
