| Corpus Gas City (Old) since Update 25.0 (2019-05-22) |
The Corpus Gas City is a tile set which was introduced in Update 25.0 (2019-05-22), serving as the home of Alad V and his Vapos Corpus. The Gas City has many facilities built to harvest the power of the planet's gas, called Helium-3. The indoor areas vary greatly from neat lobbies and labs to dusty maintenance areas for the harvesters and laboratories, while the outdoors allow players to traverse the decks of the cargo ships under an eternal sunset, also featuring large open spaces for advanced maneuvers between different structures. In addition, sometimes the Ropalolyst will appear, damaging the structures. Notably, it is the only place where non-Archwing Ranger units can spawn.
The Gas City is also home to the Amalgams, special units created hybridizing Corpus with Sentient technology.
This tile set has its own unique Spy data vaults and Sabotage variant.
Features[]
Secret Laboratories[]
Several large tiles in the Gas City have locked orange doors with active holograms on them. To gain access to them, players have to perform a series of tasks within the tile itself. Note that several secret laboratories may spawn per mission.
- First, players must find and destroy a destructible orange block called an Access Controller, typically found within ceilings or high on the walls within the tile. Many of these are hidden in out-of-the-way places, which may require parkour to reach. They have a humming noise that is audible to anyone within 10m of them.
- Once the Access Controller is destroyed, a set of consoles behind shutters will open up throughout the tile, marked by "???" when approached. Each console is marked by its own unique white symbol above it, which corresponds to the holographic symbols found on the locked orange door. A timer (ranging from 10 to 29 seconds) will appear upon activating a console, which shows the amount of time a player has left to open the door. To open the locked door, players must activate each console in sequence according to the descending order of symbols on the locked door within the time limit. Players can retry this if they failed to activate the consoles in time.
- If successfully opened, the orange door will lead into a small chamber with lockers in it, among them a special violet locker that will yield a Gas City Captura scene when opened. This chamber has a large windowed door with Sentient parts on it, which players can open by damaging it with their Operator's Void Beam. The laboratory inside will have Vapos Bioengineers, 3 or 4 hostile (sleeping) Amalgam units that will attack the player, as well as a hostile Sentient Conculyst or Battalyst in a glass enclosure that can be released by shooting out the glass. Another violet locker will also be present inside the laboratory that will yield another Captura scene.
It should be noted that the lab will consistently spawn within the Jupiter's Sabotage node Thebe, within the room left of the main Sabotage reactor objective, containing the three Helium-3 processors. The lab also spawns within the first few tiles of the Assassination node Themisto.
On Thebe:
- The lab's entrance is located in a room below in between 2 of the Helium-3 processors, across from where the player typically enters the room.
- The Access Controller is located in the room above the lab entrance.
- The 3 consoles, marked with a square, semi-circle, and triangle appear in that order in a clockwise fashion around the room and are visible on the player's map. They must be pressed in that order to open the Lab Door.
If the player is doing the respective Nightwave challenge "Plunder one of Alad V's secret laboratories on Jupiter," the player must completely loot both violet lockers to count. Note that sometimes the challenge only pops once the mission is completed.
Partnership Fragments[]
- Main article: Fragments#Partnership Fragments (Corpus Gas City)
Partnership Fragments are unique to the Gas City and are hidden about the tileset. They can be scanned to unveil lore about Alad V and his Amalgams.
Hazards[]
Distressed Pipes[]
Several exposed pipes can be found on walls and ceilings in the Corpus Gas City, some of which may have a rectangular orange light on them. This denotes that they are destructible, and when destroyed by weapons or abilities can unleash a 10-meter jet of flame that deals
Heat damage to any units caught within it.
Helium-3 processors[]
Similar to the ones in the Sabotage mission, one of these processors can be destroyed temporarily allowing the
Toxin gas to be released in the room, also lowering the visibility. Notably, nearby processors will be covered to prevent further damage.
Scanner[]
Several doors on the tileset have Scanners on them, large devices that project an energy curtain covering half of the door either horizontally or vertically. While passing through these curtains has no effect on the player, they will trigger defensive systems on the rooms it connects to, with the type of defense depending on the room. Players can either avoid the energy curtains or destroy the scanners themselves to prevent them from triggering defenses.
- Certain rooms will deploy a Shock Turret, which can be seen as a small orange disc on the ceiling. These project a shock area visible as an orange circumference on the ground, which will deal
Electricity damage and proc per second against any units within its radius. The orange disc can be destroyed by weapons fire, which will make it deploy a larger blue cylinder that deals increased area damage. This cylinder will self-destruct after 5 seconds, or alternatively, players can simply destroy it through weapons fire instead. - Some tiles will have vents on the floor which will release a putrid green gas cloud for 10 seconds, dealing
Toxin damage and proc to any unit caught in it.
Explosive Barrels[]
This tile set also introduced two new Explosive Barrel variants:
- Biogas Barrel - emits fumes of gas that deal
Gas damage - Spent Radium Barrel - emits clouds that deal
Radiation damage

Notes[]
- There are special amalgam units that only appear within secret labs. These are Amalgam Arca Heqet, Amalgam Arca Kucumatz, Amalgam Phase MOA, and Amalgam Swarm Satyr.
- Some labs have 3 access consoles (filled circle, triangle, and square), while some have 4 (adding a hollow square). Generally, 3-console labs are on fairly flat ground, while 4-console labs require significant vertical movement.
- A lab, its access controller, and its access consoles are all contained within a single tile.
- Although the symbols may change, the order in which the consoles are accessed is always the same. This especially matters for the vertical puzzles.
- If a lab tile spawns, the lab is always accessible and lootable, even in special mission types. Note specifically that syndicate medallions occasionally spawn inside labs, or high up in places that are otherwise only used for access controllers and consoles, and may be too distant for simple loot radar scanning.
- Multiple lab tiles may spawn in a single mission, or none. The labs are independent.
- They can all be completed in the same run.
- Accessing a console in one tile will not affect a lab in another tile. Sometimes lab tiles are adjacent, so this might be confusing.
Trivia[]
- Corpus Gas City tileset introduced in Update 25.0 (2019-05-22) is actually a rework of an older one, introduced in Update 11.0 (2013-11-20).
- Oddly enough, the Ropalolyst will make its appearance in this tileset even if the player hasn't finished The Sacrifice (and any other main quests that would result in the monster's arrival).
- Amalgams won't spawn during the Alad V Assassination mission, due to them being created after that event. Any Secret Labs will still contain dormant Amalgams however.
Conclave Maps[]
There are currently 2 maps for Conclave from this tileset.

I have runned this tileset a 100 times and for the life of me i cannot get the 1th fragment. Was it deleted? When was it removed? Am i going crazy over a stupid fucking fragment? GOD I HOPE NOT.
I just want to complete the gas city fragments page in my codex. Is that so much to ask?
I was helping a friend the other day, with a secret lab, and stumbled upon a hidden room with a pair of named domestic drones, that appeared to be either kissing, or in a shoving match. Does anyone have info on this?
It's a little easter egg - Daphnis and Chloe are lovers from an ancient Greek novel. The drones are named after them.
Why does this wiki page not say anything about needing to use the operators gun to open the 2nd door into alad's secret lab?
Nevermind it is there, my bad, but its kinda not obvious
I'm surprised there's no mention of if you need a quick guaranteed lab spawn, just hit up Themisto. Guaranteed starting tile with one.
I hate this with the time fucking annoying gaps.
I miss the old Gas City tileset. I wish DE added an option to select older tilesets for gameplay.
SAME HERE...esp old corpus ship as well. I miss them both.
I'm so glad it's not just me.
Correction: the helium-3 diffusers cause gas damage, not toxin, since it causes gas procs.
Secret Lab: What does your timer give you for hitting the 3 consoles? I read 15-29 seconds but I get only 10 seconds. That is simply undoable.
The timer is different for each of the secret rooms, probably based on what the devs felt was fair to move between the panels. You can try void dash or parkor mods to boost your speed, as well.
Tileset to get partnership scan thing is no longer available... hmm sad now i cant scan last partnership fragment
Fragment number 6
Can someone add this content to the secret labs part of this page?
It should be noted that the lab will consistently spawn within the Jupiter Sabotage node Thebe, within the room left of the main Sabotage reactor, containing the three Helium-3 processors.
The lab's enterance is located in a room below in between 2 of the Helium-3 processors.
The Access Controller is located in the room above the lab enterance.
The 3 consoles, marked with a square, semiscircle, and triangle appear in that order in a clockwise fashion around the room and are visible on the player's map.
Lab door
Access Console
3 consoles to override the door
Thanks, I just used this exact info to do a recovered Nightwave Mission.
Running Capture on jupiter Yields 1-3 secret labs per run in my experience.
Good info, ty
It may be worth mentioning that when looking for the panels to open the secret lab that if you have animal sense equipped they show up on the mini-map after destroying the red box.
Best place to find labs is Cameria (Dark Sector Survival on Jupiter). The spawn tile (from my runs) is guaranteed to have lab. NOTE: Do NOT set alarms off until AFTER you have looted the lab. It causes you to lose too much life support
That's all good and well if you want a guaranteed lab spawn, but it also leaves you forced to stay for at least 5 minutes after you've completed it... So I kinda feel like running the capture node a couple of times is more worth it.
You can end up with multiple lab tiles too if you're lucky, and you also don't have to worry about no life support - after the capture target is taken care of ofc
Obviously survival is not a good pick for labs...I just had 3 in rescue and capture, exterms are better as well.
Am I the only one who hates this map with a passion - jumping around over vast (and bright) empty spaces while crewmen hover about shooting at you is not my idea of fun at all. Not to mention the capture target zooming off out of reach.
If I wanted to play Jet Set Willy, I'd dig out the old zx spectrum!
Yeah, outside in space falling "down" somehow. not to mention no access to an archwing. Yeah, makes total sense.
Not the best for gameplay for sure but for looks and theme 10/10
No, you are not the only one.
I just had a rescue mission on this one, and… well, I was fully prepared just to stay on *this* side of this "outside open-air bottomless parcour gap" (THAT is the bit I hate, I agree with everyone who thinks the tileset itself is a great design, I love the lab feel of it…) and wait til (enough of) my teammates reached extraction and the timer had run down. Somehow made it across anyway, seems I'm (SLOOOWLY) getting the, well, hang of it.
The open and damaged areas need improvement Not all players are super great at the wall-running and/or super jumps for distance. Maybe add some more cables we can use, to cross these locations.
Do you have to use void blast on a certain part of the door? because everything says I need to use void blast, but that doesn't seem to do anything
Not void blast but normal amp attack
Saw some idiot swerve into the fucking detector as Limbo yesterday. Seems people still don't understand just how bad the traps, barrels, and pipes can be, they can eat through your shields and health incredibly quick, no matter how much armor or Iron Skin/ Warding Halo you have. These ain't no fucking dinky little arc traps
People never change and limbo never loved
Typical trolls or just some newbie faults
It's actually getting rare for people to stop and avoid or destroy the detectors, anymore... I've stopped doing anything on this tileset without using Revenant if I'm not solo.
Can trying to kill team with Distressed pipe xD
Can you English?
Can you stop being a dick?
Hey, there appears to be another hidden chest right when you unlock the amalgam door. There is a rare chest sound as well as a loot indication on the mini-map. Someone, please help figure this one out!
This chest is under the floor right when you open the amalgam door and if you listen closely, you can hear a strong buzzing sound.
Can you open the chest tho?
I ended up coming across this open area where there were a lot of terminals for hacking. I hacked through all of them, and I could have sworn that I heard a lazer firing noise. Nothing else happened though.
It's not a secret laboratory or anything... so I'm really confused now.
Typical DE stuff explore first ask later
That triggers the pylons to zap a crewship that is hovering in the middle of the map. Kinda useless imo
Seriously there needs to be some function for the Amalgam Lab Symbols. Every single time I run them those symbol shine brighter than before. Now there is starting to be red glowing stains around the symbols, which I swear weren't there yesterday.
And there's even an area on the other side, if look on the minimap.
