Nataruk is Hunhow's bow, forged from Sentient remains. It has infinite ammo, and releasing the shot just before a full charge will perform a "perfect shot" that is more effective.
Characteristics[]
- This weapon deals primarily
Puncture damage.
- Releasing the shot after 70% of a full charge, indicated by white brackets and the reticle turning yellow, will perform a "Perfect Shot", with higher critical chance and critical multiplier over a fully Charged Shot.
- Both Charged and Perfect Shots feature a significantly larger projectile and Infinite Body Punch Through.
- Four innate
polarities.
- Quick shots have a forced
Impact proc.
Advantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Infinite ammo.
- Quick Shot (wiki attack index 1)
- Very high reload speed (0.60 s)
- High total damage (450)
- Above average status chance (30.00%)
- Charged Shot (wiki attack index 2)
- Very high crit chance (50.00%)
- Very high reload speed (0.60 s)

- Perfect Shot (wiki attack index 3)
- Very high crit chance (60.00%)
- High reload speed (0.60 s)
- Very high total damage (900)
- High status chance (50.00%)
Disadvantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Quick and Perfect Shots have a headshot multiplier of 1x.
- Quick Shot (wiki attack index 1)
- Below average crit chance (20.00%)
- Very low magazine (1)
- Very low ammo max (0)
- Very low fire rate (0.67 attacks/sec)

- Very low fire rate (0.67 attacks/sec)
- Very low disposition (●○○○○ (0.65x))
See WARFRAME Wiki:Stat Comparison/Percentiles for more details.
Acquisition[]
Nataruk is given upon completion of The New War, complete with a free weapon slot and a pre-installed Orokin Catalyst.
Additional copies of Nataruk can be bought from Cephalon Simaris for 100,000.
Notes[]
- Charged and perfect shot arrows are coated with Void-like trails and "explodes" on impact.
- However, despite the visuals, the weapon has no area of effect properties.
- The projectile hitbox of both the perfect shot and the charged shot is quite large, allowing the player to hit enemies and even achieve headshots without needing to be perfectly precise.
- Arrows do not arc while travelling.
- Arrows also have infinite travel distance, traveling in a straight line until they hit an obtacle or go out of bound.
- Charged shots and perfect shots have infinite Punch Through against bodies.
- Quick shots deal forced
Impact procs.
- Not Silent, making it ill-suited for stealth.
- No headshot multiplier on charged or perfect shots. Quick shots will still benefit from headshots, however.
Tips[]
- The larger projectiles and lower Fire Rate (each shot is a more significant portion of the damage) make (
Primed)
Shred's Punch Through a good choice to ignore small pieces of terrain and corners that it might otherwise clip.
- Equipping mods that boost fire rate such as
Speed Trigger can make it harder to fire a perfect shot.
- This makes it an excellent candidate for using
Critical Delay over
Point Strike.
- Be also mindful when in a squad with allied Warframes that have base or augmented abilities boosting fire rate (such as
Wisp), and the respective adjustment needed to still land perfect shots.
- This makes it an excellent candidate for using
- The perfect shot's large hitbox and ease in achieving headshots benefits from headshot-focused mods and arcanes such as (
Galvanized)
Argon Scope,
Arcane Rage and
Primary Deadhead, as well as Warframe abilities like
Covenant.
- Due to charged and perfect shot having large and long lasting visual effects, it is recommended to use darker energy colours to reduce screen noise.
- The size and intense glow of the Perfect Shot projectile can make it difficult to control if combined with
Ivara's
Navigator, so if both are going to be used together, darkening the energy color will be beneficial.
Nidus can make devastating use of this weapon in conjunction with
Teeming Virulence; cluster enough enemies with
Larva and use
Virulence to trigger the augment's effects, then finish off any surviving targets caught in the mass.
Known Bugs[]
- Despite listing 0.1s reload time (0.05s rounded up), the reload time is actually 0.5s.
Galvanized Aptitude is multiplicative to base damage sources on direct hits from perfect and charged shots.
Trivia[]
- Nataruk is an archeological excavation in Kenya where the remains of 27 people were found, all of whom have died 10,000 years prior to their discovery in 2012. The choice of name reflects how the bow was forged from Sentient remains by Hunhow, much like
War before it.
- The name could also be a reference to Natah, as the bow was forged by Hunhow to help the Drifter save her life.
- With the inclusion of this bow, there is now at least one bow representing every major faction in WARFRAME; Tenno (
Paris,
Cernos, and
Daikyu, among others), Orokin (
Paris Prime and
Cernos Prime), Infested (
Mutalist Cernos and
Proboscis Cernos), Corpus (
Lenz), Grineer (
Kuva Bramma), and Sentient (
Nataruk).
- As indicated by its game files, Nataruk was originally called Omicrus.

MR16 player of 350 hours here: I really hate this weapon. With its 4 Vs for free, godly base stats, and insane projectile hitboxes that make aiming optional, it made every single weapon I had before it completely pointless. Why put potatos & formas into anything else if this mows down level 100 enemies right out of the box? Aside from the huge splash animation that blinds me half the time, that's its only downside but the damage more than makes up for it.
Now, before you storm me with criticizm, skill issue and the usual BS, try to hear me out.
The quest rewards a weapon that begins with already epic parameters (i.e. there's no need to do any extra building; you can add formas, but don't have to), and thus trumps 90% of other primary weapons, by default. This essentially means that after this quest the entire primary weapon pool is divided into two groups: the majority which do not even hold the candle to the Nataruk, and the ~10% which may surpass it if they're built well. So unless a player deliberately wants to play a specific weapon type, or just wishes to make the game hard for themself, one has no incentive to use a great majority of weapons. It's like a hard line: sure you can play Braton Prime, it will only take 7 formas and an incarnon to make it okay-ish; or you can just take this funny bow here that you got for free.
I don't think this is a good design.
You know you don't have to play the meta all the time. Use what you want and have fun this isn't a hyper competitive game. Giving me d2 ptsd over here man
Tbh, I don't really care if the bow is op or not, it's still a great gift from space grandpa hunhow for space christmas. thanks grandpa! now can I go hunt big scary snake women for thanksgiving dinner?
Definitely a 350 hr game time take.
In the disadvantages it says that the headshot multiplier for quick and perfect shots is 1x, but in the notes it says the headshot multiplier for charged and perfect shots is 1x. Can anyone tell me which is the right one?
Why the patch history didn't get updated? Did the nataruk get a ghost nerf, so it isn't even mentioned or it is prohibited probably because of controversial nature of the ghost nerf that wasn't disclosed and no player doesn't know about this nerf?
Idk when it happened, but when i returned to using the nataruk, i noticed that it's charged shot AoE is now way smaller (around 50% smaller, even more than 50%! Significantly smaller, it is very visible change!) than lastly when i was using this weapon (around 2 years ago). It is really great nerf, that makes the nataruk much closer to other incarnon bows like paris or dread which AoE wasn't as big as nataruk's old AoE. That nerf made the nataruk no longer an unique bow. It stopped to be able to clear whole corridor of enemies with 1 shot. Even it requires a bit of aiming like incarnon dread/paris. Now tenet arca plasmora is way better than the poor nataruk. That is really sad, the nerf was really big dissappointment for me, imo it wasn't entirely necessary.
Every aoe weapon was nerfed
"Despite listing 0.1s reload time (0.05s rounded up), the reload time is actually 0.5s."
It's probably due to how battery magazines work, meaning 0.05 reload time is a time to start ammo regen plus 0.45 seconds from the 2.2 ammo/s battery reload.
A bodyshot quest-bow with infinite ammo overshadows all but maybe 10 other primaries in the game. Excellent design.
Honest to god skill issue, what you dont know how to build a weapon to be good?
^ Reading comprehension. Ever heard of that skill?
Build every primary to be the top they can be, this bow will still outshine almost all of them.
Anyone know if Firestorm affects the charged and perfect shots hitbox?
It does not
This is ice cream on peach cobbler.
Skill issue
^^ Seems like a skill issue. Riven is just fine.
Def skill issue, Nataruk doesn’t need a god roll riven.
Further proof that riven traders don't even play the damn game. What an absolutely brainrotted take like wtf man.
The headshot parts contradicts itself, it says only charged shots gets headshot multiplier and then it says only quick shot gets headshot multiplier.
"Quick and Perfect Shots have a headshot multiplier of 1x."
"No headshot multiplier on charged or perfect shots. Quick shots will still benefit from headshots, however."
DO NOT USE WITH MAG'S MAGNETIZE.
The visual effect is biblical but jesus christ I dropped to 30 fps from 144 just for firing it into a magnetize bubble.
Brother, I live at 30 fps lol
Do this with your setup and Warframe becomes a PowerPoint presentation.
You play in powerpoint by casuality
I play powerpoin because im broke af
We are not the same
This page contains an error. At "Disadvantages over other Primary weapons" it says the Quick and Perfect shot do not make a headshot multiplier. In the notes, the Charged and Perfect Shot do not make a headshot multiplier.
This page recommends not getting alot of fire rate, replacing point strike with critical delay. Every bow needs fire rate. without fire rate it takes twice as long to kill anything, wether it be heavy targets or groups of trash mobs. This weapon is perfect for point strike because it raises it crit chance to a nice spot and critical delay wont actually increase dps.
I think the idea is that if you're exclusively using quick shots, it's better. The quick shot gets basically no penalty, but has pretty mediocre crit stats, so it needs the help. Internal Bleeding only reliably works with quick shots, so using it exclusively like this is definitely viable.
If you're like me, and like to use the charge shot, you don't want negative fire-rate from Critical Delay. It makes the charge shot super slow and cumbersome to use. Personally, I still use Critical Delay alongside Shred for a net +10% fire-rate. I'd recommend either Critical Delay + a fire-rate mod, or switching back to Point Strike. Critical Delay is nice for the more consistent Double/Red Crits, though it's not a super big difference.
Having Punch Through for small pieces of terrain and corners is a huge boon in this weapon, partly due to its fire rate making every lost shot all the more significant, and also due to the larger size of the projectiles. As such, Primed Shred is a great fit for the weapon. +110% Fire Rate can, however, make it trickier to get the timing right for a Perfect Shot, especially if your Fire Rate is being boosted by an ally. Critical Delay is therefore very useful in tuning that back a bit to a more manageable level, back down to +70%. The Incredibly high base Crit Chance of the Perfect Shot also makes the difference between Critical Delay and Point Strike all the more significant, 30% Crit Chance is nothing to scoff at.
Spectres consider its infinite ammo to be zero and use secondary.
Looking this "non aoe just huge projectile hitbox" bow that can't use Split Flight.
Meanwhile new Cinta (similar mechanic), Incarnon Dread and Paris (AoE at incarnon), still able to optimize 400% Multishot from Split Flight despite being AOE at some point.
Look at the stats, its practically asking to be run using Hunter Munitions + Viral build.
"The projectile hitbox of both the perfect shot and the charged shot is quite large, allowing the player to hit enemies and even achieve headshots without needing to be perfectly precise."
More like "the projectile is so goddamn large you have to aim anywhere but at the head to actually score headshots". I swear, against the grineer i have to aim directly above them (as in, so high their HP bar doesn't show up) and headshots on MOAs are RNG cause you'll hit somewhere else before the head.
I recommend a 3x +/ 1X - riven with fire rate, or 2x + to be able to fire rather quick perfect shots and not going above the threshhold of not being able to use perfect shot at all due to too high fire rate
This bow's name can be a rough reference to Natah... Ruk is loosely translated as lovable in Thai. So the name of this bow is Lovely Natah.
Neat thing about not having a quiver is that it doesn't clash with your syandana
Affirmative!
Conflicting information:
"Quick and Perfect Shots have a headshot multiplier of 1x."
"No headshot multiplier on charged or perfect shots. Quick shots will still benefit from headshots, however."
I don't know how to edit stuff but hopefully someone who does can fix it.
Its not really conflicting. a multiplier of 1x means the damage is unchanged, on headshots, meaning they do not benefit from headshots.
A multiplier of 1x is functionally equivalent to not having a multiplier. The language used is actually quite helpful, as the charged and perfect shots can and do fulfill headshot conditions such as Galvanized Scope and Primary Deadhead, while not actually having any sort of damage multiplier like a normal projectile,
This is the only weapon in primary category that has "inf" for Ammo max in the CSV file, every other charge type weapon has 0 written in that slot
And that's why I can't use a float or integer in that slot!
That's intended because it is the only weapon that has an explicit infinity sign for the reserve ammo count in the HUD. There was a long debate on classifying battery weapons and weapons with infinite ammo and ultimately we settled on setting battery weapons (weapons with rechargeable ammo pool and don't need to pickup ammo) to have AmmoMax = 0 with a positive Magazine count. Nataruk is an outlier since its "magazine" is reloaded each time it fires and doesn't recharge so AmmoMax is set to infinite for purposes of wiki classification. All battery weapons are weapons with infinite ammo but not all weapons with infinite ammo are battery weapons.
