Not sure if this is working in Oct 2024.
I think it's fixed as of Koumei and the five fates. Though it seems to function differently now
Ever since the Frost sorta-rework from Jade shadows this has been bugged it seems... At least from what I'm seeing it still works with wisps breach surge, and at that rate I feel like it might work with other helminth abilities that can crit, but weapons don't appear to get the crit chance at all anymore.

Because when i test it with Torid incarnon i dont have orange crit all the times like i should, and no red crit (base 35% crit, + critical delay, + arcane avenger + Biting frost, i should be at 220% crit rate) but sometimes i have yellow crit like it shoulnt be possible
This should be Frost's passive by default, especially with the upcoming Cold buffs. I wouldn't even mind if the numbers on this was nerfed. His current passive is just... wow.
Cold status changes coming with Jades Shadows lets you freeze enemies with your weapons.
And if you have Tenet Glaxion which can quickly stack those cold procs up while chaining it...

Did they break this mod? Feels like it's not working at all anymore.
I originally thought this augment was kinda shit. Mainly because of eximus issues and especially since its additive with mods. HOWEVER, I found that it is in fact multiplicative with sources of flat crit chance or things that set your crit. If your smeeta gives you orange procs only, suddenly you'll only get T6 crits on frozen enemies. If you use arcane avenger and icy avalanche you can reliably take damage and suddenly arcane avenger gives +45*(1+200%)=135% crit chance to ANY weapon. Turns cedo's alt into a nuke. It won't take you to level cap but it trivialises base SP. You could run an adarza and no weapon will be able to hit anything lower than a red crit when you have both buffs up and the enemies are frozen.

Curious: weapon with +280% (380%) crit reaching ~93% cc total, with this it reaches mostly red crits and some orange. I have no idea why. I have no conditional cc mods or companion/arcane effects.

Besides the fact that you want to use avalanche to strip all their armor and they freeze so you get the 200% bonus anyway? Do you only use ice wave on frost?
This makes weapons like envoy and gammacor red crit very easily for some reason
As cool as this mod is, it seems kind of pointless really. The enemies are already armor-stripped, meaning they're already super squishy ― they'll die to anything with or without this mod. The actually-tanky enemies that you'd want a damage boost against, can't be frozen, and thus don't benefit from this augment.
Additive or multiplicative? Counts as a mod? Or applies before mods? Or applies after mods?

Its based off weapon's crit chance, not a final crit buff. It mentions it in there, it acts like crit mods such as Point Strike.

Although biting frost still needs a buff regardless like having its bonus scale off the number of cold status procs such as; 1 cold proc=20% bonus, 5 cold procs=100% bonus and 10 cold procs= 200% bonus.

Pity it does not interact with Cold damage status procs, makes its usability very limited.
.... On the other hand this augment and a modded weapon reliably proccing cold status procs would make it very OP, first thing came to my mind is its usage with a Lenz, but again maybe the issue is with the cold procs being entirely separated from the "frozen" debuff.
If indeed reaching the Freeze status stack cap (i.e. 8 procs in a row) targets would be considered affected by the Frozen debuff (and give it a temporary or permanent immunity from it afterwards) it would allow a more general usage.
Another strategy, could be instead to let the augment crit bonuses to apply also in a limited way proportionally to the target's current cold status stack, e.g. let's say half of what it add to to the actually "Frozen" targets, +100% / +100% at max rank
But yeah ultimately the elephant in the room is that it shows how "Frozen" debuff and Cold "Freeze" procs are very badly streamlined.
For an Augment that costs as much investment as it does and with a passive as awful as Frost has it should do more.
Make it also work on enemies suffering a cold proc, not just frozen ones.
I would like to point out that this effect is active with Itzal's Cosmic Crush augment, Cold Snap while using Frost as well. So you can buff your damage a little more in Archwing related content.
This should be frost's passivez tbh. It's current passive is useless.
It's too powerfull to be a passive ability, it need to be an augment.
Frost should have Ice armor passive.
When Ice Armor is active it grants frost 450 armor, a nice small bonus to survability and giving snow globe more health.
When frost is hit by melee attack, frost don't get any damage from melee attack, enemy is frozen for 5 seconds, but Frost loses his Ice armor.
Cooldown 15 seconds.
450 armor is a spit in the ocean and is not going to improve Frost's or his globes health in any meaningful way, meanwhile your new passive idea is still the same boring one but 100% chance and a cooldown
The only "augment" mod that enhances the passive. We need more mods like that. Although there are mods like equilibrium for equinox, it is not an augment mod.
You are forgetting Hydroid's Pilfering Swarm augment affecting Tentacle of passive for slam attach(Gunbkade heavy shot)
Returning player. I thought this mod was amazing at first but I'm gonna say what it its. Band aid. If it was an augment mod it would have been good. If this would have been an augment for say Ice wave it would have been amazing. Enemies inside the ice field take said damage. This mod is basically a 2x crit mod for enemies that can only get frozen solid. Enemies that can be frozen are not the threat. Enemies that cant be are. Bosses, mini bosses etc
