The Deimos Saxum is a large bipedal Infested enemy that resides in the Cambion Drift, Deimos.
Behavior[]
In addition to releasing projectiles from its shoulders that deal lingering area of effect, the Saxum can do powerful slams using its enlarged "belly".
The Saxum is immune to Status Effects until both its shoulders, called Femurs, are destroyed. This also removes its ability to launch controlled projectiles, forcing it to rely on melee attacks. However, doing so will cause its broken shoulders to endlessly spew
Corrosive bomblets that travel up to 15 meters from it until it dies. It will also take heavy damage over time in this state, effectively bleeding out. Given its extensive toughness otherwise, destroying its shoulder Femurs is in fact the easiest way to kill a Saxum.
After not taking damage for 10 seconds, the Saxum will start to regenerate 2% of max health per second.
Has immunity to
Viral status.
The Deimos Saxum has no "head" hitbox.
The Deimos Saxum Rex releases Deimos Tendril Drones from its shoulders, in addition of shooting projectiles.
Damage Reduction[]
Deimos Saxum possess Damage Reduction that scales depending on your weapon's DPS excluding critical hits. DPS is calculated by
Critical Hits are applied after the damage resistance is calculated. Additionally, the average DPS is calculated using all health/shield modifiers, other sources of damage reduction, and is quantized.
Until both Femurs are destroyed, the main body possesses an additional 80% damage resistance. After destroying a Femur, the other one will take 2x damage. After destroying the other, both locations will take 2x damage.
For proc damage, critical hits are taken into account.
Where the proc damage is the per tick damage of the corresponding proc, with health/shield/armor modifiers taken into account.
Note that unlike the DPS controller for normal damage, the one for proc damage takes critical hits into account.
For heat procs, the proc damage in the above formula is the accumulated value of all the previous heat procs.

Deimos Saxum Eximus scan: Join Isolation Vault Tier 3 and go baiter. And after that get Itzal. Go south and center rotation. Kill eximus units. I tried firstly 50 mins nothing... After that I extracted and rejoined. This time inside 10-15 mins Eximus is there.
Is there any easy way to find the eximus varient? I haven't been able to find one in for ever for my codex
They're absolute pain to kill, and if more than 3 spawn (they will) you can kiss your Necraloid goodbye
Jesus Christ only DE could cook up something this retarded
I pull out the arquebex as soon as i see 2 of them or more popping up , i fucking hate those things and their black mist of doom that melts my necramech
Just ran into a Crimson Eximus one. Literally immortal, the bloody thing.
For some reason i keep thinking these are Infested Necramechs, probably because of the protrusion, thing.
My knell cries every time we see this freak
I have been searching for the saxum eximus for days on the isolation vault bounties, how did you guys find the eximus variant so I know where to put my time in?
Do these have special damage bonus against necramech? Went in with maxed Vitality, armor and shield and the 2nd voidrig ability and got taken out in blink the moment they attacked. Got forced out to my frame and was fine combating them this way, re tried my Voidrig after the cooldown and it got quickly taken out by these again. It became a battle of spawnkilling them with Guardmode before they could attack but they always managed to fire that aoe thing and take me out
No special bonus, Cambion Drift enemies just do a lot of damage.
If you're using VoidRig (the first mech), just hit your #2 ability Storm Shroud for 3 seconds of invuln, and during this time any damage you take gets turned into an extra shield or barrier, which works well if enemies are doing a lot of damage. If not for this ability, mechs would be much bigger liabilities. Not sure what Bonewidow could do though -- maybe the shield?
The fact that both "arms" are called FEMUR, which is the bone that's in your thigh, implies that this is a lower-half of something, since it doesn't have an head; unless that GLAN thing is the head (as Zenith suggests so). I bet some future release will include a boss/mini boss that can splits itself and become one of these.
Cool idea, but the hanging bit is its head. Not that Infested entities can't have multiplies of those
Hurhur..."head"
Seems like the key thing about these godawful things is that they calculate their damage resistance on the modded damage you do, EXCLUDING modded critical hit damage.
So basically, what you want is a big dumb crit weapon, with no status or no fancy shit. Just hit large crits reliably, yeet your hunter munitions out the window as far as these things are concerned. Opticor Vandal works alright, or maybe dig out that big dispo riven with +cc +cd you've been hoarding for no damn reason.
I just blast them with my heavy attack Stropha, takes them out easy.
Since they made viral too OP, then they made this bullshit viral immunity
Still magically status immune even after both shoulders are broken in Simulacrum...
Status immune enemies like these are what's wrong with the game these days.
Agree, crit just works rather reliably on everything while every once in a while you run into an enemy that takes legit 0 damage from your status weapon.
I do not mind some monsters have some kind of immunity to a specific type of damage, it makes the game more interactive not just pressing buttons and closing your eyes. The problem is I think elemental/status damage is just too weak in general.
It is funny that they made damage types so interesting and interactive with elements and status effect but they made it so weak at the same time,
Does any looting ability work on the Deimos Saxum Rex?
Ivara can pickpocket them, tested.
These things are pretty annoying in steel path, especially the huge mama. I can't really find anything useful vs them but kuva kohm. In iso vaults, I can cut them in half w a high crit dakra even tier 3, without messing w their shoulders, but they are rocks in sp.
Funny, because saxum in latin mean rock
They seem to be able to spew out corrosive damage to limbo while in the rift though
Fun fact these can kill otak and loid through a new loka healer in under three seconds with their insane dps in gas procs
I found DE can only makes the game harder through giving enemy immunity to debuffs. Now they are adding unmodded DR on enemy... This makes debuffing/cc frames really little spaces in harder content. By the end it’s always those dps/buff frames shine in hard mode.
I tested the Deimos Saxum Rex in the Simulacrum: I can confirm that they spawn the Deimos Tendril Drones from their shoulders.
Here's a video of it: https://youtu.be/2PW_uMfPo8w
I've updated the article to reflect this. I'm not certain if I'm allowed to post my own video above in the references, so I'll leave it alone for now unless I hear otherwise.
