Trivia
- Hydroid is derived from the Greek "Hydro" meaning Water and the suffix "-oid" meaning 'Of similar form to', likely alluding to his ability to transform into water. It is also a life stage for species of the Hydrozoa class of jellyfish.
- Hydroid was claimed by the Development Team to have been inspired from the theme of pirates and seems to resemble Davy Jones from The Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise.
- Hydroid is the first Warframe to use self-degrading Argon Crystal for construction in the Foundry.
- Hydroid is one of the few Warframes that has visible "eye-spots" on his helmet.
- Hydroid is one of two Warframes with powers capable of ignoring enemy armor, the other being
Ash's
Blade Storm.
- Hydroid was the first Warframe to have
True Damage, followed by Ash's revamped Blade Storm. Hydroid's True Damage also ignores shields.

Thank GOD i got this guy from the circuit over fighting the dumbest boss I've played so far, I love his abilities
Is this really worth fighting that terrible boss multiple times to get drops?
It takes like 2 - 3 minutes if you use titania
Had to re-farm this dude for hellminth. Needed 16 runs to get a system.
Some tips a fellow nuubey can give:
Omg you can skip cinematics!! If cinematic press space x2 to skip
Ignore Vay Hek encounters, go directly for his main arena
Use Ignis/Wraith to avoid having to aim to his thing
This node also feels awesome to farm some neurodes, got a huge amount by farming him
Didn't know that you can just ignore his encounters. Thank for the tip!
25 attempts for systems, i am the statistical anomaly
I believe the original Hydroid was a highly-esteemed Orokin enforcer back in the day, before the Infested madness set in and slaughtered his kin one by one. Leaving only his pet kraken as company as he hid from custody.
Do you fear death?
How many tentacles does hydron summons with his 4th ability?
Nvm just found out
Glad you shared this FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE with us all.

I am completely new to this game. So i heard you can sell things to get platinum is that right?
Yeah! Selling prime parts and veiled rivens is one of the best ways to start getting plat as a new player.
And due to current EULA if you accidentally sell some stuff to a guy who pays you with illegal platinum, you can get BaNnEd til' 2035 with a possibility to unban yourself with buying an amount of legal platinum, depending on how many of your platinum they decide to be "dark", funniest shiet evah
Not trying to scare you off, just be prepared
His 4 have limit of 8 stack's corrosive? I had put 1 green archon shard, but this dont changed nothing on stack from his 4.
Because Corrosive procs last for 8 seconds, so Tentacle Swarm only have enough time to proc 8 Corrosives. Green Shard increases the stack to 10, but the ability itself cannot proc more than 1 Corrosive per second.
Big raga, the opp stoppa
So funny.
I'm seeing so many hydroid users these days. Is he really that good now?
I got him before the rework and sold him because he was clunky, slow, and weak. Has that changed?
Get him back
Doing that now :)
And this is why I don't sell any frames I only have 1 of. You never know when a rework will come around for them.
Im resisting the urge to sell rhino for hydroid
Damage bonus from Plunder adds to Barrage so you can kill pretty high levels with it
Someone needs to update the Plunder description, maybe even with calculation, it's supposed to buff ability damage.
Undertow was my favourite skill, because it made me feel like Zabuza. Plus it was fun in stealth mission. Plus you could look cool if you timed Tidal surge and Undertow right.
Yes, Hydroid is better now (thank God they got rid of that charge mechanic), but it won't be my main frame anymore. Style > Utility 4ever
Style points are the only points.
Me to the unbelieving Grineer. (They need to start believing in ghost stories)
You're in one!
I haven't played this game in a long time but good to see this mf got better
I hear people say Hydroid is bad but from what I am reading his kit seems pretty good, am I missing something?
He got reworked in October, before he kinda sucked
Ohhhh okay. Thanks
He sucked for the longest. People didn't even knew he existed.
This is what happens when you don't take care of your oceans folks. You get hydroid. :)
Hydroid has gone from my favorite Warframe to my favorite Warframe who can obliterate Grineer soldiers in mere moments, and I only wish Plunder made Hydroid turn into a lump of water for a moment, for aesthetics.
FINALLY SOMEBODY GETS IT
Staggered enemies are unable to capture Interception towers, so Tentacle Swarm is press a button to immediately start interception, which is nice.
