Oxium is an uncommon component. Dropped by the uncommonly encountered Oxium Osprey with a guaranteed drop rate, it can be found in quantities of 7-12 and will only drop if the Osprey is killed before it destroys itself by charging against the player, an ally, or a wall.
Oxium can also be found by destroying Storage Containers, completing low-tier Bounties, and by opening the 3rd Cache in Grineer Sealab Sabotage missions.
Farming Locations[]
These are based on opinions and may not be 100% true. These should be viewed as advice for finding the resource until better facts are proven.
Target | Planet | Name | Type | Level | Tile Set |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Phobos | Gulliver | Defense | 10 - 15 | Corpus Ship | |
Jupiter | Io | Defense | 15 - 20 | Corpus Gas City | |
Pluto | Outer Terminus | Defense | 30 - 40 | Corpus Outpost | |
Lua | Apollo | Disruption | 35 - 40 | Orokin Moon | |
Europa | Paimon | Defense | 18 - 23 | Corpus Ice Planet |
These locations are always available and are additionally useful for gathering resources that drop from enemies. However, in the event that one only needs large amounts of Oxium, and one does not have an active resource booster, it is highly advisable to run the open world bounty missions if Oxium is being offered. Since it only drops in stage 1 and 2, the Oxium farm can be optimized by intentionally failing Stage 3 and restarting the bounty without entering the hub section.

Blueprints Requiring Oxium[]
Gathering Tips[]
Tips collected from common player experience and should be viewed as advice rather than fact.
- Playing Corpus Excavation, Defense, Survival, and Mobile Defense missions can offer a decent amount of Oxium as well, the lowest level being Kiliken, Venus.
- Jupiter Gas City missions have various interactive sources of Oxium, such as reactors that can be raised from a console at their base.
- Keeping enemies in an alerted state in Sabotage missions can bring a fair amount of Oxium, especially on lower level missions, where more demanding enemies do not spawn right away.
- Io, Jupiter yields around 80 Oxium in 10 waves.
Notes[]
Ivara can use
Prowl on the Ospreys, potentially doubling the amount of Oxium dropped by a single unit.
- As it's dropped by a specific enemy and is not a planet-specific drop, it cannot be obtained by using Extractors.
- Sometimes Oxium can get stuck in the ceiling in narrow hallways/locations with a low ceiling, Loot Radar mods (
Animal Instinct &
Thief's Wit) can help locating those otherwise invisible resource drops.
- Oxium can also be acquired from Grineer/Corpus/Orokin storage containers, albeit with a very low chance. Therefore, one should not rely on this source due to it being infrequent.
- As of Update 18.0 (2015-12-03),
Nekros can
Desecrate Oxium Ospreys.
- Each player obtains a different amount of Oxium from the same pickup, implying that the amount of Oxium contained in a pickup is not pre-determined.
- Recommended manner of dealing with Oxium Ospreys before they self-destruct without dropping the desired resource is incapacitating them before they are able to see the enemy and attack. Otherwise focusing on diverting their attention from fighting (
Terrify,
Radial Blind (
Radial Howl),
Rest & Rage, and similar abilities) is a good way of approaching the situation.
Nidus can use
Larva to catch Oxium Ospreys, leaving them open for potshots before they have a chance to destroy themselves while also potentially granting him Mutation stacks as well. Doing it this way however, it is ill-advised to melee the Oxium Ospreys as they can still detonate if they aren't destroyed quickly enough.
Harrow can use
Condemn to hold Oxium Ospreys in place, creating an ample opportunity to land potshots.
Khora can use
Strangledome to hold the Oxium Ospreys in place and finish them off, although if the Ospreys start their kamikaze charge before the Strangledome casting animation is complete, they will still explode. As a bonus, with the
Pilfering Strangledome augment there is a good chance that the Ospreys will drop double the amount of Oxium.
- Sorties seem to have somewhat higher spawn rates for the Ospreys.

Trivia[]
- The word Oxium might be made up out of Oxy- (ancient greek ὀξύς, romanized oxús), meaning "sharp" or "pointy" and -ium which is a common suffix for elements.
- Considering the resource's description of being lighter than air, the name Oxium might instead be derived from oxygen.
- Anything containing Oxium, being it enemies or weaponry, is showing golden color, same as the resource icon. In real-world, pure Gold will form crystals as well, so Oxium might be the far future name for Au79.

The bounties are now dropping Cryotic instead of Oxium.
So i waited the whole day for nothing ?
Nope, they rotate daily, they are dropping oxium now at 7/8/24
Hydroid w pilfering swarm on io, jupiter yielded 1k+ in 20 waves :3
This, best frame for Oxium
Tycho on lua has a good number of ospreys in steel path
Anecdotally, tried this and had a weird experience. Very few ospreys, and the ones that spawned didn't give me Oxium. Not sure what to write home about with that one.
Ambassador Barrel is missing on the list.

300 oxium after 10 minutes on Pluto Outer Terminus using Pilfering Strangledome Khora with the resource booster.
Why does this have to suck so much to farm?
Did you even checked the table? Vauban Prime Chassis alone requires 6 times more than Styanax.
Vauban prime is from 2016 it's 8 year olds. I'm talking about recent stuff. How much have you needed in oxium if you only build stuff from say 2020 to 2024? Again besides Stynax most of the stuff that needs oxium is pretty old. So like I said they have basically ignored oxium as a resource needed to build stuff almost like over time they started to phase it out from modern equipment.
Auroxium alloy needs a decent amount of oxium. the trumna for example needs 1800 oxium and that came out with deimos, so not too long ago
Farming this for Trumna which is a very good weapon still in 2024
Seems like a few Oxium Osprey spawn during 5-10 minutes of Elara, Jupiter, but very few spawn after that. With Nekros+Petrify+Ore Gaze and Smeeta Kavat's Charm I got around 100-150 after the first 10 minutes, but sticking around any length of time after that was not worth it. Not great for farming a bunch of Oxium but alright if you just want a handful for a one-time blueprint.
Still, fuck DE for making this resource such a pain in the ass to get.
Survival mission like Elara, Jupiter is far better than any defense mission. I got 1700 Oxium in about 10 min. (with booster)
If you're not in any rush, just send out your extractor drones every day to collect your most important resources. At this point I have an endless supply of everything.
Oxium can't be harvested by extractor drones.
Tested Elara today, in 11 min with Khora + pull + ocucor + booster i got 734.
Bozo Oxium isnt collectable on extractor drones
What the actual fuck is up with things costing multiple thousands of oxium to craft. This shit drops an average of 10 per drone, which suicide when you get close to them. Without resource boosters you have to kill 6362 of these to craft everything. Fuck whoever wanted it to be like this, FUCK YOU.
Right? Even if you take the cynical view that they're trying to get players to purchase Oxium for Plat from the market, it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense because 300 Oxium for 30 Plat is not a good price so not a lot of people are going to purchase it that way. A good example is Tatsu, which requires 3000 Ox (plus Kuva, Argon, etc.). That would cost 300 Plat to purchase the Ox, when you could just buy the weapon outright (with free weapon slot and Orokin Catalyst) for 275.
Fr fr
Fuck him
DE are greedy shitholes and get away with it because so many of their fatass no-life whales worship the ground they walk on and let them get away with anything.
Doing Io, Jupiter is so reliable. Doing a 6 minute run I got 485 with no boosters, or resource boosting warframes/abilities.
I did a 20 minutes run on Io (Jupiter) with a ressource booster and only got a meager 116 Oxium.
Press X to Doubt.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but I don't see Oxium listed as a bounty reward in any of the bounties for Konzu
The bounties have rotations that switch the rewards
Actually a super simple farm. Using Nyx prime on cetus gets you over 1k per mission, no smeeta required
Woah, didn't know nyx had a ability that generated oxium! thanks so much!
How does nyx prime help?
They're just trolling, don't waste your time
wrong use loki
I've finally found the Jupiter's Oxium pillars someone in the comments mentioned and took screenshots of it. I don't think those screenshots fit the criteria required for them to be added to the article, but I hope it will help some people who struggled like me to find them.

You just need to hack the panel at the bottom to raise the pillars up out of the shielded enclosure and go up the stairs, usually only 4 out of the 8 corners will yield oxium, but it's better than none.
Defense jupiter is complete utter garbage its better to just do konzu and hope you get that 200 than do that garbage
Nekros + hydroid or khora gets you over 1,000 oxium in 20 waves WITHOUT a booster. Its IO, jupiter is definitely better
Yeah IO is only good with farming warframes, otherwise, you're only gonna get about 100 - 150 in 20 waves
Nekros + ore gaze on pluto defense is the most consistent farm i've found that doesn't require much investment. pluto has a higher chance of double osprey spawns compared to the other tiles. haven't tested on sp tho
1,600 Oxium in 15 mins Elara Jupiter SP survival with Khora [double boosters, no blessings, solo.]
Also got 540 Hexanon and 28 Neural Sensors during this run.
BS
On Jupiter sky city missions, there's these rooms with 4 interactable consoles that raise 4 pillars. Each pillar has 4 destructibles on it, 1 on each corner. These destructible bits have a very roughly 50/50 chance of dropping Oxium when smashed.
To add: for simplicity - 1 console = 1 pillar, 1 pillar = 4 smashable bits, 4 pillars per room, roughly 2 out of 4 smashables per pillar will drop Oxium.
I love you.
How do you find these rooms? Any chance we could get screenshots of what that part of the map looks like, or something?
Arkadaşlar tenora girdim gif yok yardımcı olucak var mı pls
Hear me out, guys! Im playing solo and the best way Ive found is Survival mission on Venus(Steel path only). Just go in with Khora or Nekros and get ready to fight A LOT of enemies, oxium drones included, from the 1st second. Just do 5-10 min and restart it. 100 Oxi/min avg
Bruh
A survival with Hydroid/Nekros/Speedva worked well for me, like Palus Pluto. Slightly slower but a lot less demanding than a Defense.
Hotfix 17.1.5 (2015-08-14)
Increased the amount of Oxium that drops from Grineer Underwater Oxium Caches to 250.
I'm sorry, the WHAT?
Anyone else have no idea these existed?
Yeah, and there is also a particular part of map with 4 pillars at any planet node of Jupiter (Does not spawn on crewship nodes). If you interact with a panel at the side of pillar, you will get 30-40ish oxium per pillar, yielding about 150 on average.
