Lore
- Main article: Mask of the Revenant
Following Gara's sacrifice over the Eidolon, at the very site of her decisive battle which the Ostrons now call Gara Toht Lake, a Warframe known solely as the Warden would arrive to drive away the Sentient as it emerged night after night. This trial would continue until one fateful evening, where the Warden foolishly tried to make contact with the Sentient and was overwhelmed. Discovering that the Sentient was using him as a means to reform itself, the Warden cast himself into the lake to seal it. The time spent as an "anchor" to the Sentient would infuse the Warden with its eldritch energies, becoming "the Lost One".
In the present day, Nakak receives a strange mask, the Mask of the Lost One, from Onkko. She sells it to the Tenno, instructing them to wear it in the Plains of Eidolon at nighttime. There, they see a large spectral silhouette of an Eidolon; meanwhile, Nakak receives a vision from the Unum, explaining the story of the Warden. After completing the story, the Warden, now transformed into the Revenant that serves as a "mask" for the Eidolon, emerges but is driven back, leaving behind its own blueprint. Having rebuilt the Lost One, Nakak claims the Warframe that had been infused with the powers of the Eidolon will be needed to combat a new threat imposed by the Sentient.
Notes
- If Revenant wields his Signature Weapons:
Phantasma/
Phantasma Prime: Magazine size is increased by 4 rounds, for a total of 15 rounds.
Tatsu/
Tatsu Prime: Projectile charge cap is increased by 4, to a maximum of 9 charges.
- Revenant and Revenant Prime have the fifth and third highest base shields respectively out of all Warframes in the game, with Revenant Prime beaten by
Hildryn and
Hildryn Prime, and Revenant being also beaten out by
Styanax in addition to the previous three.
- When taking overshields into consideration,
Harrow Prime and
Harrow take the third and fourth places.
- When taking overshields into consideration,
- Revenant is immune to the
Magnetic proc from contacting water during the night in the Plains of Eidolon.
Trivia
- Revenant was revealed in Devstream 112, and is the first
Sentient-themed Warframe, before
Caliban.
- Revenant's codename during development was Vlad, likely named after Vlad the Impaler who, in 1897, Irish writer Bram Stoker based the famous vampire "Count Dracula" off of. As described by Stoker, Count Dracula was an undead warlock that fed on human blood.
- Revenant's abilities are also vampiric in nature:
Enthrall converts others into loyal thralls, a trait in vampires.
Mesmer Skin allows Revenant to cast Enthrall freely; vampires are capable of enthralling with their "mesmerizing" eyes.
Reave turns Revenant into intangible mist, another trait in vampires. Additionally, vampires are famous for their ability to steal the life essence of their victims, with Reave displaying such trait when it passes through enemies and thralls.
- Revenant's abilities are also vampiric in nature:
- A revenant is an undead being that retains some purpose after its reanimation, usually to seek out and get revenge upon those who wronged it in life.
- To enthrall somebody means to make one subservient.
- The name
Mesmer Skin may be based on Franz Mesmer, a German doctor who came up with the theory of Animal Magnetism.
- To reave means to deprive (a person) of something through theft or violence.
Danse Macabre is based on Danse Macabre, French for "Dance of Death", a late-medieval allegory of the universality of death.
- When Revenant's Danse Macabre is discussed in his Warframe Profile, the Lotus says "Bewitch your enemies in the moonlight, Tenno." This is a lyric from the song Dance Macabre by the Swedish heavy rock band Ghost.
- Revenant's fourth ability was originally a mass crowd control area of effect that put enemies to sleep.
- After TennoCon 2018, Revenant's abilities underwent changes to include more lasers and lights to emphasize the Eidolon theme.
- Fitting with Revenant's Eidolon theme, Danse Macabre's rotating lasers is derived from an attack used by the Eidolon Gantulyst.
- Revenant, alongside his signature shotgun,
Phantasma, are the first Warframe and weapon to require Sentient Cores to craft.
- Revenant is the 36th Warframe to be released (excluding Primed and Umbra variants).
- Revenant is the second Warframe whose component blueprints are acquired from Bounties, first being
Gara.
- Revenant was originally tasked as a warden by the Unum to prevent the fallen Eidolon from coming back, implying that he was active after the Sentient War on Earth, at the very least. Whether he had directly participated in the War or not is unknown.
- Unlike most of the Warframes, Revenant's signature melee weapon was not released simultaneously with him. Digital Extremes decided to withhold and release it later alongside Melee 3.0.
- His signature Two-Handed Nikana,
Tatsu, was released with Update 24.4 (2019-03-08).
- His signature Two-Handed Nikana,
- Oddly enough, despite Revenant's Sentient composition that would make him highly susceptible to
Void damage, he and
Caliban do fine in areas rife with Void Energy such as the Orokin Void and the Zariman Ten Zero.

I had no idea that CASTING SPEED was affected by CASTING SPEED :O
Very chill void cascade frame. CC is pretty much dead so enthrall is just for funny and maybe for reave build. A rework would be nice but there's definitely other frames in a dire need of rework before Revenant. How Mesmer Skin remains unnerfed is beyond me. the only way to actually die would be if you recieved a toxin proc right after getting nullified. Violence can also remove Mesmer charges but let's be real Acolytes are a joke rn.
Hope they nerf this shitter warframe so all the useless leeches can go back to wukong whom at least does something with his clone
Grow up bruh
Haven't seen any leeches outside of Dog Days.
Cringe Wukong user mad because they nerfed the autopilot while forcing to get skill.
Back in the day, pubs used to be filled with Monkey Aimbots. Now, it's full of... this thing.
Thankfully, they are not very disruptive to my gameplay compared to the Monkey Aimbots. So, they are more tolerable.
I don't really see a problem with the initial comment. Wukong is a monkey with a clone that is an aimbot. It's pretty accurate in this case.
Pubs are still filled with Wukong more often than Revenant, lol.
OP here came to check what this mess of a thread has become. People on the internet easily resort to calling the other side "toxic" nowadays on some "take" they disagree with.
I'll make two points here :
I don't care what other players use as long as it's not disruptive to others, min-max or not. You can deal GOOGOL damage or be immortal for all I care, just don't "steal" others' enjoyment of killing hordes of enemies. DE follows what I believe here because that's their motivation in balancing "problematic" setups. I'll pull their quote when they balance the AoE issue
Seeing all of you, the anonymous commenters, putting fuel in this thread and wasting your mental energy instead of just moving along to let this thread drown on its own puts a smile on my face.
Now, I shall leave this thread for good. Op Out.
"After TennoCon 2018, Revenant's abilities underwent changes to include more lasers and lights to emphasize the Eidolon theme."
I guess eidolons are true rave gods
Is there any Warframe in the Simulacrum that can beat a Revenant with friendly fire enabled and a Mesmer skin?...
Nope
Banshee or any frame with Silence.
why valkyr has insane energy succ while also being stuck to melee only and nyx is basically in a wheelchair when 4 is activated but this guy just doesn't get anything for being completely immortal with 100% uptime and just instead he gets an augment mod that allows EVERYBODY to be just like him. Completely immune.
I just don't get it do DE just completely gave up trying to balance things out?
Lol they gave up when they added Kuva Nukor.
Can he die ?
No as long as mesmer skin is on
Yes, the only foe that can easily and consistently kill him is The Fragmented One if you're bringing a sub par loadout and rely exclusively on his braindead gameplay.
I mained Revenant since PoE and Cetus release, before shield gating and prime was a thing. Now seeing Revenants everywhere is a strange feeling since NO ONE played him back then.
Very fun frame for invincibility and mind controlling entire room.
Doesnt seem to adapt vs Infested. I dont see "gas" proc on them like I see corrosive on armored enemies
Because it may prioritize heat instead of gas for some reason
Wish we saw the "Warden" seeing as that would be the actual revenant prime, pre-sentified from his stupidity
Will never understand how people can play and enjoy this character
His oneshot potential is kinda irrelevant unless you're facing something that can't die to your weapons but can die to your abilities.
So yeah, dumb tank, aka weapons platform tank.
I mained Revenant before they released his prime. I dont have a desire to use him now...
Simply put: he is the easiest frame to survive. I was frugal with plats back then, and refused to invest in any other frame. And he isnt that hard to get (his base, not prime)
And this is before shield gating was even a thing at all, which made Revenant godly since he had to press 2 and he became invincible except to nullifiers. His 2 was also stronger back then, it took longer for stacks to run out. 6 stacks was enough for entire mission, now I find that I have to spam 2.
Secondly, his 1 is also absurdly strong. Press 1 to mind control, and it spreads to other enemies, similar to Saryn's 1. You'll have an entire room of enemies under your mind control just with a single press. It also worked on eximus
3 for mobility mostly, but with release of harder content, its now good
4 for meme really.
TLDR: He is the only invincible frame before shield gating was a thing. Also mind control entire room with 1 button press.
How is it fun? Because it just is
Actually nah I take it back. I have a feeling you are trolling. I just kept scrolling and scrolling, and the comments werent this bad
But yes, Revenant Prime is everywhere and I guess you just had to ask why they find it fun.
He doesnt get in your way and that should be ENOUGH
But if you arent joking and REALLY are looking for the answer to your question: everyone has different tastes. Revenant makes you ENTIRELY focus on weaponry and keep shooting and meleeing instead, and not worry about anything else. Essentially why I used him instead of nukers like Volt or Saryn back in the days. If you like micromanagement or whatever, then this frame isnt for you.
He's honestly fun if you use his entire kit. Sure, he's the easiest frame to stay alive, but making Overshield pickups and ways to give survivablity to your team is quite cool.
Most fucking dogshit frame rework this actual garbage
He can mind control entire room and be invincible, and his augment gives 25% bonus damage for every mind controlled enemy he has. He can also drain shields and health with his 3, which I find pointless since everything died instantly back then.
Nobody cared about Revenant before his Prime. Now I see him everywhere, and the only plausible explanation is that you will whine about literally ANYTHING that is popular.
Dogshit frame is wisp - cus this useless crap cant nuke rooms or just beeing usefull , rev is prefect combo for my ocatvia to save teammates on cascade
Wisp makes you and your teammates not die due to her health boost, and her shock motes is good for stunning to protect objectives.
I think Dante powercreeped Wisp tho.
Wisp healt boost is dogshit in anything above 350 lvl's .bro , wtf, this frame has literaly 0 to offer for teamplay if i compare her to anybody else . speed boost is the only usefull thing.rev is fast as fck + saves you from hits while you have invis from octavia .
Does Revenant Prime not have any special prime VFX on any of his abilities compared to all the other prime frames? Like Frost Prime making gold icicles on Ice Wave etc.
Seems like some effects were added to his 3, but those are so simple that you might not notice it..
Spinning your camera counter clockwise while ulting increases the rate at which you damage enemies.
Don't know if it matters how fast you can spin your camera.
It does not. Where the camera is is irrelevant.
Define counter clockwise in 3d
Right, i checked taht like a year or two ago, was exited, buuut- it was only a visual change, so i got sad a little bit.
Getting this soon
One of the unfortunate things with this Citrine's Last Wish update is that it seems that you can no longer fall slowly with Aim glide while using Reave.
Yeah. We need to post about it in the forums. A lot of abilities that you could cast while aim gliding and still have the anti gravity effects aren't working post that update, like Gara and Mass Vitrify. Really hope it's just a bug that can be fixed and not intentional. I want to fly as a spooky ghost again.
Oh that's why! I usually cast abilities, especially ones with longer cast times and full body animations, while jumping and aim gliding as it decreases risk of being killed significantly. Noticed it wasn't working anymore but didn't know why. (I still recommend jumping during abilities like roar though, standing still for that somewhat short time can pose serious risks at higher levels)
They trashed 4 ability.
^ Essentially, DE in all their own whopping collective 40IQ if we want even to be generous, raised the energy consumption of his fourth ability so hard and so high at the point of being absolutely impossible to sustain ever for 5 consecutive seconds.
They did "nerfed" his ult because everyone playing as Revenant was doing nothing else than spamming 4 over and over again in the most brain dead way as possible, nuking entire rooms with no effort at all.
Now, the damage scaling of his 4 in normal star chart high level missions isn't all that bad even if it takes a bit too much to kill compared to how much expensive it is to channel this ability for 4 seconds straigth.
In Steel path tho? Oh boy, the situation is absolutely tragic.
Not only it does an absolute dogshit of damage and takes 4 whole years for killing a basic steel path lv150 greener, but it is lowkey unusable without any form of armor stripping at all.
The damage of his 4 feels just slightly better in SP if you have a primer with you before casting the ability, but it still does feels like dogshit.
Lowkey one of the most boring frames we ever had in 10 years, perhaps as much boring as Inaros.
People will usually tell you to helminth his 4 if you're farming in SP for much better and useful abilities, but here's the actual catch: Revenant without his 4 ends to be even more dull, boring and plain useless than Inaros itself, because even if you'll replace his 4 with roar as what many player does, the remaining 50 frames will still do his job infinitely better.
Yeah, you'll never die thanks to Mesmer Skin, but that will literally be the only power your frame's going to have at disposition.
What are you talking about? You can sustain his 4 indefinitely. Just use some efficiency mods if you're having trouble.
That change happened like 5 days after Revenant came out. 20/s might as well be the base energy cost
Lol since when has it ever been good?
Why cant you jump on his 4 bruh
Where is the Ahriman tennogen skin???
