Don't think too much about the different element boni.
This is Warframe. You'll farm every weapon with every element bonus at 60% anyway.
No quarter! Move, move!
Absolute crock
For newer players, ignore the comment. It's better to look at this list of recommendation. https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1386270-current-best-lich-progenitors-for-every-kuvatenet-weapon-after-‘protea-prime’/
OP: "You'll farm every weapon" Maybe not everyone, but many people do that! "with every element bonus" bffr
Page doesn't explain much.
What specifically is it missing?
Are there any on here that are missing?
Yes
No. This list is updated as of Jade Shadows, with Jade added as another heat progenitor. If you're looking for the primed / umbra variant of a Frame, they share the same element as their normal counterpart. Sevagoth Prime will share the same element as Sevagoth, and we don't know what the Unannounced Frame or Cyte-09's elements are currently.
Lmao someone really said yes
I have fixed Oberon. If you think editing this list will change how the game works, you're wrong. If you think it's funny to misguide people, kindly fuck off. Oberon is a toxin progenitor, not radiation. Hope everyone else has a wonderful day!
What about jade ?
What prog is she ?
NVM, just saw that shes heat
Someone fix please, Oberon got moved to radiation from toxin, among other things
Hey would you be able to point me at the patch notes, where it says that? could not find that.
Right now it shows Oberon as Radiation instead of Toxin where he should be
Got ya covered, friend.
Any chance we could propose page protection here - at least against non-logined users? I've heard several cases now of people being sent wrong because of vandals having easy access to this page. I've just reverted one such edit before, moving Gauss and Vauban from their correct positions.
Makes sense, done.
Rip to all the tenno led astray
If anyone's looking for Jade, she grants a heat bonus
Added, thanks.
If DE ever does add the Infested lich expansion in the future, it'd be nice if they also expanded the progenitor system to include all the missing types as well. Puncture and slash for physical. Blast, gas, corrosive, and viral for elemental.
I would stop at blast and gas. Viral and Corrosive will eliminate any form of build diversity we have now
To be honest, I'd rather see Sentient Liches over Infested Liches. I just think it could be more interesting.
We'll learn more about Infested Liches at tennocon
@Hexerin I have some insane news for you
Thoughts on which is the best kind of bonus?
Maybe depends on weapon type?
I usually do electricity so that I can mod for corrosive, magnetic, or radiation, but now I'm thinking impact would help increase base damage and therefore modded damage. But I've done heat and toxin. What do y'all do?
🤓🤓🤓
Modern internet slang/dialect certainly is something
Defenition of the word element, 4B on Dictionary.com says "the rudimentary principles of an art, science, etc.:" efectively stating that this is the fundimental basis of a subject. though its probably not entirely true it does seemt to cover most basis of how damage can be inflicted therefore i do believe the word 'element' is in correct use here.
Same guy as before, yes i do realise that magnetic is the one probable exception but i believe that DE needed something to go against shields and one of the devs saw a YT video on superconductors and thought 'yes thats the answer'
Im pretty sure the progenitor element for each frame is literally just for balance. there's no logic to it at all and we should stop trying to find one
Mag makes sense tho.
Actually a lot of these make sense, but with the missing Elements of Slash, Puncture, Corrosive, Gas, Blast there are some Warframes that don't really fit any current element, so they just stashed them somewhere needed.
Might see updates to this with further incoming Lich Factions.
Take Gara: she has an 'Impact - Slash' ability (tap - hold) and her Ultimate has no typical element, but the effect is similar to cold. Where she currently resides
With her mass vitrify she "freezes" enemies within the radius. so cold makes some sense at least
Atlas is toxin and not impact. Oberon is toxin and not radiation.
???
Guys I have this cool WARFRAME concept! It focuses on toxin damage and the weapons it canonically uses are either slash or explosive.
Lich element will be Magnetic.
Shut up
There seems to be a direct correlation between all of these elemental damage types present in the roster, except for Toxin, which is just added because it's one of the basic elemental damage types.
They're all sub-molecular. forms of energy, energy transferral and physical constants.
Impact = direct kinetic energy transferral. (puncture and slash are only observable on the macro scale, when an element is actually formed)
Heat = Atoms accelerate due to the magnetic force inherent to them, also pulling them together.
Cold = Atoms decelerate due to the kinetic force they impair on other atoms and similar objects.
Electricity
Magnetic = magnetic force.
Radiation = the purest form(s) of energy (that we are able to utilize in a "controlled manner")
However, the line up for the progenitor frames is definitely arbitrary, probably due to the fact that DE wants to keep at least one or two progenitors that basically everyone and their grandmother can just go and get right then and there.
Rhino for impact,
Ember and Inaros for Heat,
Frost and Titania for Cold,
Almost the entire electric Progenitor Frame roster,
Ivara and Oberon for Toxin,
Mag for Mag,
Ash and Loki (maybe Mirage) for Rad.
What are you guys smoking? "Heat = Atoms accelerate due to the magnetic force inherent to them" that's not why brownian movement exists in hot objects...
"Cold = Atoms decelerate due to the kinetic force" WHAT?! NO, they decelerate due to absence of energy. There is no carrier particle for cold just like there isn't any DARK PHOTON
"Radiation = the purest form(s) of energy" SAYS WHO??
Sorry i know we're playing magic space ninja here but god this nonsense makes me so angry
^^^^ scientist anon lost his shit just like me when i read
This is not real science but instead some retarded 'something' on pure meth. Or maybe a meth formula. I can't tell because it's not real science.
That whole OP comment feels like some guy who saw a couple youtube videos about science-sounding things and decided "I'll make my own version" like those hilarious anime romantic fan fics.
Anyway
Heat = A positive difference in energy. That's it. The stove feels hot because it has more energy than your fingers do, and it transfers some into your fingers faster than your body wants it to (Entropy).
Cold = A negative difference in energy. Ice cubes feel cold because they're sucking energy from your fingers (just like the stove, through Entropy), which your body doesn't like. It makes you feel tingly as a result.
Electricity = the flow of electrons through a substance. OP described that one 10/10.
Magnetic = indeed, the magnetic force. It's one of the four (as far as we're aware) base forces of the universe, but has absolutely nothing to do with heat in the way OP wrote it.
Radiation = All it truly is, is particles decaying and releasing stuff. Radiation is stuff moving around with energy, but not "energy" the way you think about it. I'm not sure how DE came to the conclusion that 'oh yes, this turns people against their teammates', but... space ninja stuff.
I'm not sure what "physical constants" have to do specifically with this, but yes, they are into play with this... technically... just like how gravitation and basically every other thing in the world also plays in on this, *technically*.
None of this makes sense. It’s just arbitrary. Impact isn’t an element. Nor can you combine elements to create Impact. So why no slash or puncture “element”?
*throws up hands and walks away*
Wow. Okay, that actually makes sense. Thanks!
toxin could be described at entropy maybe (it's a stretch)
Cold is not an fundamental element
What are you smoking bro
Well there are no fundamental elements, and only 4 basic interactions, soo
Why do only like half of these actually make any sense? Atlas' entire design is that he likes fisting people yet he is toxin and not impact??? Sevagoth's abilities only deal either Radiation or True damage (unless you count his claws, but they're mainly slash) but he's impact and not Radiation...
You think that's bad? Oberon's whole kit is radiation base yet he's toxic
Grendel not being toxic is a crime
These things are pseudo-arbitrary and are set based on Frame and element usage data and the META that incentivizes using different frames to get the desired element. It's a game dev mechanic, not a lore mechanic. *shrug* I thought it was odd too, but it makes sense.
*Note that the Primed, Umbra or Shadow version of a Warframe share the same element
Excuse me, SHADOW?
As in Sevagoth's Shadow. Since a lot of people have been confused by it, I'm just gonna outright remove it.
"Umbra" is Latin for the word "Shadow." -_-
Why is grendel impact when all of his moves except pullverize do toxic damage but atlas is toxic even tho he is mr punch guy
Why is Mesa magnetic when she does slash or pun /wtf
DE: Why not?
Probably because there IS NO Puncture and Slash ELEMENT
But it seems like impact is element :D
Why is yareli magnetic and not cold based of the dmg she does?
I think I'd swap Yareli with Titania, many birds use magnetic lines to navigate (I realize titania is not a bird, but nor is she a penguin).
Revenant has a magnetic passive, so he should really be magnetic and not cold. imho
But why Oberon toxin..? My man literally only does radiation..
Because toxin has rad abilities in it from oberon
