The Phaedra is a large-caliber Archgun that shares design aesthetics and mechanics with the
Soma.
Characteristics[]
- This weapon deals primarily
Puncture damage. - Innate
polarity.
Advantages over other Archgun (Atmosphere) weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Very high fire rate once fully spooled.
- Short reload delay of 0.25 seconds in Archwing mode.
- Good ammo efficiency, generating relatively small cooldown for the Archgun Deployer for every second fired.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- Very high fire rate (18.75 attacks/sec)
- Very high ammo max (960)
- High magazine (240)
- Above average status chance (30.00%)
Disadvantages over other Archgun (Atmosphere) weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Archwing:
- Has linear damage falloff from 100% to ?% from 100m to 350m target distance (distances are affected by Projectile Speed).
- Slow ammo regeneration rate relative to magazine size.
- Requires a spool-up of 11 shots before optimal fire rate is achieved.
- Fire rate starts at 50% of the listed value, and increases by 5% per shot.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- Very low crit chance (14.00%)
See WARFRAME Wiki:Stat Comparison/Percentiles for more details.

Notes[]
- In contrast to the Soma, Phaedra has stats that favor status chance, instead of utilizing critical chance and critical multiplier, a trait the Soma is known for.
Trivia[]
- Phaedra is a character in Greek Mythology best known for her role in Euripides' play, Hippolytus. Phaedra's name derives from the Greek word φαιδρός (phaidros), which means "bright".

Patch History[]
Update 35.0 (2023-12-13)
- ARCHGUN DEPLOYER: HEAVY WEAPON CHANGES
With the various buffs and adjustments we’ve made to Warframe weapons over the years, a common question we see in response is “but what about Archguns?”. These Heavy Weapons are meant to be heavy-hitters, but arguably have been overshadowed by the Primary and Secondary guns in your Arsenal. To address this feedback, we have made the following changes:
ON-DEPLOY OVERGUARD BUFF
Upon using an Archgun Deployer, players will now gain 2000 Overguard.
- Effect has a 60s cooldown.
- The Overguard gain is capped at 2000, so re-deploying your Archgun after the cooldown resets will refresh your Overguard up to the 2000 cap.
HEAVY WEAPON BUFFS
Overall, most Heavy Weapons (a.k.a. Archguns when used via the Archgun Deployer) have had their damage doubled. Some of the Archguns have also received buffs to their Archwing version, which we will indicate below.
Archgun Damage Resistance
Before we get into the stats, we have added a 50% Archgun Damage Resistance to the Profit Taker. Since these weapons have had their damage buffed, this resistance keeps these fights to the same difficulty as before.
Heavy Weapon Stat Changes
Note: these apply only to Archgun Deployer versions of these weapons unless otherwise specified.
PHAEDRA
- Total Damage increased from 56 to 116
- Impact Damage increased from 14 to 29
- Puncture Damage increased from 36.4 to 75.4
- Slash Damage increased from 5.6 to 11.6
- Punch Through increased from 0.0m to 1.2m

Update 27.4 (2020-05-01)
- Archwing Gun stats normalized - space combat now uses ground “Heavy Weapon” stats.
- Phaedra accuracy increased.
Hotfix 24.2.6 (2018-12-20)

Update 24.2 (2018-12-18)
‘ATMOSPHERE’ ARCH-GUN WEAPONS
It’s time we equipped some serious floor firepower! All Arch-Guns can be used on the ground - or as we like to call it ‘Atmosphere’ - with the use of a ‘Gravimag’. Gravimag is obtained from Clan Research, or as a one-time reward from the Orb Heist Phase 3 Bounty, and can be installed on any Arch-Gun (with an Orokin Catalyst installed) via the Upgrade Arsenal - similar to installing a Catalyst.
Comparable to the Archwing and K-Drive Launchers, a respective Gear item known as the Archweapon Deployer is required to activate your Atmosphere Arch-Gun. The Archweapon Deployer can be obtained by completing the Orb Heist Phase 3 Bounty.
Atmosphere Arch-Gun General Changes:
- Atmosphere Arch-Guns consume Ammo as opposed to unlimited Ammo/Battery in Archwing. Specifically new Heavy Ammo Drops which can be found from Corpus enemies in Orb Heist missions. Heavy Ammo Drops also reset the 10 minute cool-down when picked up, or replenish Ammo if needed.
- Atmosphere Arch-Gun can be summoned in normal missions with the Archweapon Deployer, but once Ammo has been depleted there is a 10 minute cool-down until you can summon again. The intent here is to allow you moments of beefy damage output, and not become just another Primary/Secondary weapon.
All stat changes are for Atmosphere Arch-Gun mode, Mastery Rank changes are global:
- Mastery Rank from 0 to 3.
- Damage increased from 45 to 56.
- Critical Chance increased from 10% to 14%.
- Status Chance increased from 25% to 30%.
- Magazine size decreased from 250 to 240.
- Ammo Capacity set at 480.
- Reload speed set at 2 seconds.
Update 17.5 (2015-10-01)
- Introduced.

>somas bigger sister
>less than half the critical rate of soma
Wat
This thing is fucking awesome when built right, I really hope they prime it soon
This is not even Soma's big sister, soma related weapons has high crit chance and crit dmg, with slash being the highest in its IPS distribution with a bit of status chance. Lets just say its the cousin that prefers puncture and status chance.
But i will install a gravimag anyways because BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Got it at daily login 89
I just got the receiver from completing Syrtis on Mars, so I suppose Syndicate offerings aren't the only way to get this.
You are correct, updating page accordingly thanks.
Looks great, but stats are meh. Mausolon is opposite
I got the receiver for this thing from Syrtis - Mars. Are there other arch-weapon parts droping randomly out there or was this just a freak bug?
Its normal, for some unknown reason. The drop tables don't lie.
I just got the blueprint from Teshin as a daily reward.
Better than cyngas?
Can confirm the Receiver still drops from Mars - Syrtis

Haven't played with this weapon in a minute, the shitshow that is Railjack comes out, and now I want to try out the Phaedra "big sister of the Soma even though it has less crit chance than the Lato" in railjack and I realized that one part comes from Arbies and another comes from Perrin... Meaning that to get all of the parts, you need to level either Arbies up first, and then level up Perrin. This is annoying to me, but doable. But, without that knowledge, how are newer players s'pose to get this weapon without bending over backwards?
Trade for it. Most archweapons have parts in opposing syndicates, so you can maybe find someone who wants to trade a part for a part. Or go on warframe.market and buy it for ~15 plat.
What do you mean without that knowledge? All the needed info is here, also you can ask ingame on general channel and either go for the multiple syndicates or trade for parts.
facetanking 20 lvl 165 corrupted gunners while making a lot of noise,
Phaedra making a loud noise
lol big time
I'm sorry... LEVEL WHAT?!?!
Meh, what a shitty dmg, so shitty weapon. Other archguns are much better, even imperator vandal. Phaedra is just trash and joke xD.
love this gun im hoovy from tf2 or rhino from dirty bomb, nothing like a minigun to send em a message: attacking me?...MISTAKE!!!
Phaedra has 240 rounds in atmosphere instead of 250. I tried to edit it myself but doesn't seem to work.
Module updated
BBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTT
GAU-8 avenger has entered the chat
Grineer has left the server.
Corpus mopup crew has entered the server.
Requesting jetpacks in order to effectively scrape Grineer off the walls and ceilings.
Ignis wraith is provided in order to "clean" any hard to reach sticky bits
In atmosphere mode, it has the same accuracy increasing trait like that of tenora. Space mode doesnt have this though.
i dont use archguns in atmosphere, but this one's probably my least favorite one in space. looks cool, has a cool name, but kinda sucks. relatively low damage and awful accuracy. it sprays bullets everywhere beyond near-midrange
then your not using it right, cause i can kill 10x lv165 gunners in seconds
^ emphasis on "in space".
Yes. It's junk in space with its abysmal accuracy and damage. But try it in atmosphere - it's a completely different gun. It will completely strips armor in seconds against grineer and you can also turn it into pseudo aoe weapon with gas+electric to mow down infested and corpus alike.
Good god the rivens for the archguns are terrible. I would have hoped that they would have put some real meat into them given how weak the mods are in general for them, but this is just trash. I've got a double stat one with multishot on it and it doesn't even get above 70%.
aren't rivens just rng? don't take it personal, just make a live sacrifice to RN-Jesus before you roll it next time :)
Well, default archgun multishot is only 60% so the riven maximum is appropriately low. Try rolling for ellemental damage, those sem to cap out at 140% or somethng for rivens.
what is the disposition of this thing? i just got riven for it and it looks kinda stronk.
Phaedra prime when?
