The kubrow bites the hand of an enemy, causing them to drop their weapon.
The kubrow has a chance to scavenge additional loot from fallen enemies or containers.

Update 34.0 (2023-10-18)
- COMPANION STAT CHANGES
Two broad changes have been made with regard to your Companion's base stats to increase their staying power:
1. Health, Shields and Armor have been refactored across the board.
This simple numeric buff was made with the goal of increasing Companion survivability. This also means that the choice of whether to use, for example, Enhanced Vitality or Linked Vitality, will depend on your Warframe choice instead of the Linked Mod always being strictly superior.
2. Non-Sentinel Companions now gain their full Health and Shield values immediately when you acquire them.
Historically Health and Shield values would increase as your Companion ranked up, which you could see as "Rank Bonuses" in the Upgrades screen. We've removed this behavior and simply given Companions what would end up being their Rank 30 values at Rank 0. This should let you immediately take your Companions on more difficult missions after earning them!
Including both the removal of Companion Rank bonuses, and the base increase to stats, the following lists the stat changes for all Companions at Rank 0:
Revised Kubrow Stats:
- Chesa Kubrow: 940 Health (from 250), 290 Shield (from 75), 200 Armor (from 50)

Do these work on thax and its arcanes?
Yes.
Played with Chesa at the Orb Valleys for a couple of days. And while I'm still not sure if it's just the RNG gods smiling on me or Chesa actually makes Toroids to drop pretty well from enemies. I got 14 Calda Toroids in 2 days of doing bounties for daily repo. Didn't farm the Enrichment Labs for Toroids specifically, just killed them when bounty objectives were at that location. Also, tonight I needed 1 Sola Toroid for the Little Duck, went to the Temple of Profit to try to farm some, and I got 7 Sola Toroids in like 10 minutes session!
So, seems like for a player who mains Ash (like me) or another not farm-buff warframe, Chesa seems like a pretty good alternative.
It was the Chesa. They make farming Necramech parts a breeze, too.
How about we replace disarm with his old retrieve, buffed to 25m? So that this dog becomes both useful, and keeps his theme intact?
It was fun seeing him chase little stuff on the floor.
Been random incubating for this 10 times in a row, no luck. Is it harder to get than the other Kubrows?
Same got this as my first kubrow
I have been searching for hours and yet There is nothing anywhere on how to get tags
It's random unless you trade for an imprint that contains the Chesa Kubrow DNA.
Idem, my first kubrow^^
So with "Fetch" this dog change from vacuum into another nekros for other frame?
lmao you call this one nekros? it has 45% additional loot drop chance and a 10 seconds cooldown. meaning 1 enemy per 10 seconds. While nekros can kill 100 enemies in 1 second and get 54% additional loot drop chance from every single one of them in 1 second with no cooldowns
Relative to other kubrows yes it is a mini nekros, huras is also goof for item finding.
So i thought i would try to find a singular redeeming quality for this kubrow, so i took it with me on many missions, specifically trying to find a rare loot container, in hopes that it might be able to use retrive on it. after much searching and many runs, finally i found one, open it, get 15k credits and a detonite injector, and a few seconds later, it successfully uses retieve on the rare loot container, and to my amazement, 32 credits and a health orb, and with that, all hope i had for this kubrow died.
at the time of writing, it doesnt retrieve plant extracts(my reason for even wanting it), doesnt pick up ayatans, or syndicate items, doesnt open containers, and doesnt pick up health orbs to try to save the player, which are all things it used to do.
retrieve now just works like nekros desecrate, with a lower success chance, and one trigger every 10 seconds, instead of 3 triggers every second. if you ignore success chance, you will need 30 of these at the same time to match a nekros. yes it can pull more loot from a container, which nekros cannot, but not specific resource containers, such as morphics stabalizers, just standard containers, and the rare containers, which unfortunately, are the same as a standard container to this.
You talk about it as if being a mini-nekros is a bad thing.... actually, it's pretty fantastic.
Useless. Outdone by much better options.
That's subjective. On my nintendo switch account, I'm only MR7 and the entire game revolves getting more resources. Having a mini-nekros as a pet is amazing.
Mine do not retrieve plants anymore, seems like the messed up the mod
Same, doesnt work, even if i put it to the far-left.
Thanks DE.
Thanks DE? Did DE ever say it works on plants, or just the wiki?
Thanks WIKI.
DE Specified that THIS WORKS ON PLANTS.
Thanks, reading...
How have people been finding the rework? Does it make Chesa worth using now that Retrieve basically seems to be desecrate with a cooldown? Or is the cooldown way too long for it to be viable?
Not a huge fan of it myself, honestly feels worse. Has a 45% chance, every 10 seconds to desecrate 1 enemy or loot crate within 30m. When it does trigger it is not on what you want, you can be up to 30m away from what got rerolled, so you have to find it, and it usually ends up being a little more ammo or if you are lucky an HP orb. At least before it would pick up Syndicate drops or Ayatan statues. Now it just effectively rerolls health and ammo every ~25 seconds. Might as well take a Sahasa if that is what you are after.
I'm happy Chesa will be getting a desecrate mod. Finally this doggo will have some more utility and I won't be forced to play Nekros everytime I wanna farm something.
You will be forced by anyway, 1 chance each 45s... If you want more resources, bring a Nekros with Smeeta Kavat.
Don't know how high I was when I decided to forma this walking hunk of junk.
I put 5 forma on my Chesa Kubrow, and I have to admit the most useful kubrow is Huras. - My Carrier destroys crates faster than Chesa. - Locked Storage mostly junk, and not suitable for fast paced Warframe play style.
If this Chesa can pick Syndicate Medalion or can pick Ayatan Star and buff Retrieve range, Chesa would be good and useful. But for now, bring Huras in a mission is waaayyyyy better than Chesa.
Sorry for bad english :DD
Move aside Chesa, fetch is here.
Where does it drop?
So Mine that I just got today seems to be refusing to pick up plant extracts. Her Retrive is max rank, no enemys or other drops or boxes left in the area, and the plant is not scanned. Tried about ten times and it won't even attempt to get plants. Anyone else having this issue? Did they change what it will pick up and the wiki hasn't caught up yet?
Look up how pet precepts work. It might be too far right. Try moving the mod to the left side of the upgrade board.
I just made Helios Prime and was stoked as he's a great Sentinel, and then suddenly I get a Kubrow egg. Hatched it, and I'm sold. It's a big black Chesa Kubrow called Scavenger and even with rank 3 Maul he's very helpful. I'm still not 100% confident I'll take him on everything until his mods are maxed 'cause not everyone is positive about them, but when I'm solo he'll definitely be my go to.
"Sentinels > kubrows"
I beg to differ. I solo any sortie MD, Spy, Rescue, Sabotage with Limbo and a Huras. Probably my most useful frame so far.
I do use Helios Prime for his utility, and of course it's also very useful, and probably better for some frames, but if there was no down time switching between my kubrows, I would probably hardly use it.
strongly agree. huras kubrow is too good on many frames.
Huras kubrow is my goto for pretty much all sorties.
put it on a speed frame and blitz through spy and rescue misisons
or on limbo for spy... you are invisible and dont set off lasers...
put it on a tank frame like nidus and you can use your 1-4 while invisible able to rack up tonns of damage without drawing fire on you.
teammates are down? nbd stop fireing your gun for like 5 seconds and you are invisible and can bail your teammates out.
shade can do the same
Invisble by Huras Kubrow faaaaaaarrrrrrrrr way better than Shade. Huras > Shade.
And now we got Fetch, Huras > 100x Shade
FYI this Doggo will pick up Cetus Wisps and Sentient Cores in the Plains.
good to know, however seems it's the only adventage of this dog...
He also has the most survivability of any Kubrow, and probably of any companion/sentinel in the game. Especially if you melee
How do you figure that? This is the only Kubrow I have so far and she dies to a light breeze (okay okay, to anything over level 20), even when I have her all kept up on her shots.
It basically has links to your warframes which Sentinels lack. With Inaros, Chesa can get over 10k health, With Valkyr Prime, it can get an armor rating of up to 2360, with Frost Prime, it can get up to 2030 shields. There's also a mod (medi-pet kit) which provides the kubrow with 6 health regen per second, and there's pack leader that heals your companion with damage you deal with melee attacks, and there's hunter synergy, a mod that gives your pet life if you steal life (like Inaros skills or Life Strike for instance). This makes your pet, if you tune your build to it, extremely tanky.
Kubrows have more utility (unless your idea of utility is Vacuum), and more interestingly, they have much more potential to actually contribute something. While I don't deny that Sentinels take the edge in some situations, if you invest in your Kubrow and you synergize your build with it, it can be simply amazing. I definitely prefer Kubrow, though I still use Sentinels often due to Companions' annoying Stasis/afraid of you/DNA stabilization issues. They need to remove that crap from the game. I don't get to use Chesa often enough because I know I'll probably need Huras for the next mission, and that's sad because it's the only pet I'd use with Inaros or Valkyr. You can switch warframes on the fly, why can't you switch pets on the fly too? Is it so strange to think that when you change from a Limbo to an Inaros you might want to change your Companion as well? But I digress.
anyone can sell me this imprint?
Someone interested in trading 2 of their chesa imprints for 2 adarza imprints?
me
DE should make Chesa Kubrow scan enemies as well, just like Huras Kubrow being the advanced version of Shade sentinel. Otherwise, this Kubrow does not seem useful.
The Retrieve mod are useless, they should make it pickup regardless of the situation...
Just like Dig.
The Retreive mod -> only works when out of combat <- so I'm thinking this Kubrow is meant to be useful in some other game that isn't Warframe.
kek
Wasn't factual then either.
Kubrow will outright stop what it's supposed to be doing in a fight and go pick up worthless shit like a fucking common mod.
Whilst you stand there with nothing to do it won't pick up jack shit.
Your dog knows his priorities: LOOT! I approve and so does my audience!
It's useful for solo mode and for people who don't like to rush maps and finish them in 5 seconds...
