Update 34.0 (2023-10-18)
- COMPANION STAT CHANGES
Two broad changes have been made with regard to your Companion's base stats to increase their staying power:
1. Health, Shields and Armor have been refactored across the board.
This simple numeric buff was made with the goal of increasing Companion survivability. This also means that the choice of whether to use, for example, Enhanced Vitality or Linked Vitality, will depend on your Warframe choice instead of the Linked Mod always being strictly superior.
2. Non-Sentinel Companions now gain their full Health and Shield values immediately when you acquire them.
Historically Health and Shield values would increase as your Companion ranked up, which you could see as "Rank Bonuses" in the Upgrades screen. We've removed this behavior and simply given Companions what would end up being their Rank 30 values at Rank 0. This should let you immediately take your Companions on more difficult missions after earning them!
Including both the removal of Companion Rank bonuses, and the base increase to stats, the following lists the stat changes for all Companions at Rank 0:

Found a medjay during Fass using a lure.
The info here is wrong, I couldnt find a single medjay during Vome, but immediately found one at the end of Fass (orange worm)
I just caught one during both fass and vome so I think they're active during either
From how much you can count useful dogs in this game you can predict is DE devs a dog or cat person (most of em).
If you're too lazy to farm one, you can buy the imprints to other players and just breed one in the incubator. Yes, you can, my friend gave me 2 Medjay predasite imprints and I got him this way.
You can capture these at any point, not just vome. Use a pheromone. The npc even says it's a rare variant and you need to tranq it twice.

Doesn't seem to drop specifically during vome. After failling to get it during vome, I tired one during fass using pheromones and got one on the first try. Might just be rare, or maybe pheromones override the spawn restriction?
Yeah can any and all Kubrow type pets be actually fucking useful in battle and not die after a mob so much as looks at them?
I do have the "mods of value" and they still aren't enough. Also "there's nothing wrong with the pets," nice white knighting.
The interesting part is *why* you're continuing to take that stance despite being informed otherwise. Is it because you think people are lying to you? You could verify the things being told to you by simply testing the information yourself - Do you want a build? Then you'd get the same results I do if you built it the way I did, after all, it's not like we'd have different results with the exact same conditions. Surely you recognize that, right?
Is @LadyCrofts saying that to make (some) pets worth/good we should make a warframe build specifically orientend in making the pet good? Like... I think it should be the opposite, the pet add to our gameplay. Anyway I'm not an enthusiast of pets and sentinels, I will just agree with the opinion that pets and even sentinel deserves/needs to be tweaked/buffed/reworked by DE because the only things I can see being really worth by now is Panzer Vulpa because it's a immortal viral spreader and a kavat, being also able to use that mod that allows kavats to cheat death. or maybe some sentinel with Verglas instaled because that is pretty much the only good companion weapon by far, usually I would pair it with Dethcube, but mostly because of the mod to regen energy and because I don't have reactors enough to spend in any other sentinel.
Welp, i just use them as tanky support, at least mainly tanky support. Most of mods for survival and few mods with their abilities. Smeeta, adarza, dethcube with increased firerate and energy generator, helios for scanning etc. with exception of khora's pet Venari which hasn't even mod ability(actually it has, but it is khora's 3 ability), but is very great for dmg and doesn't need so many mods for survival due to endless resurrecting and still can be good support with khora's 3 ability. It is the best way of using companions. Most of them make many good things in specified situations, so companions are for me useful to varying degrees(some sentinels and some kubrows are just weak support) ;p.
Just go 2 of them with pheromone and during Fass while hunting for them.
Randomly had three Medjay Predasites spawn here. They appeared as markers on my map, meaning they were weakened and ready for pickup. It was a nice treat, since Medjay was the only species I needed to complete my Deimos pet collection.
This happened during Vome in the right-most part of the map while playing in Solo (see picture).
Their spawn locations are quite volatile, but I thought I could share my luck with some of you who struggle to find them. I had previously hunted for them and used pheromones but to no avail.
*LE: Same happened again in Catabolic Gutter, still during Vome.

Seems bugged for me, can't seem to be able to select it as a companion to be revived :/ (have 2 tranq-ed)
Same lone tenno: apparently they need to be attacked by some infested creature (enemies) to obtain the state of being "weakened" before you have them sent to Son.
Only then, are they eligible to be revived.
TBF it says that in the patchnotes. However, you can still tranq them and then lead some Infested their way, if their attacks connect with them on the floor, they count as weakened and can still be collected without running away.
I've only had Medjay come out during Vome (blue worm) for me. I spent the entirety of Fass a couple times seeing if wild Medjays would appear and only ever found Vizier and Pharaoh
