The Stalk mod allows the Huras Kubrow to cloak itself and its master when hostile entities are within range, rendering themselves invisible to enemies.
This mod is unique to the Huras Kubrow, and will be given to players upon incubation of a Huras Kubrow.
Stats[]
Rank | Range | Cost |
---|---|---|
0 | 14m | 0 |
1 | 16m | 1 |
2 | 18m | 2 |
3 | 20m | 3 |
4 | 22m | 4 |
5 | 24m | 5 |
Notes[]
- Has an ~8 second cooldown after leaving any kind of stealth state, including
Smoke Screen,
Invisibility,
Prowl and
Arcane Trickery.
- Lasts indefinitely until broken by attacking, by not having an enemy within the detection range or by being inactive for 1 minute.
- The cloak will break when using a weapon but not when using a Warframe ability.
- Similar to
Ghost, the effect of Stalk cloaks the Kubrow and its master, rendering them invisible to enemies.
- The visual effect is identical. The Kubrow will make a howl animation when activating it.
- Cannot activate when Huras Kubrow is parkouring in air, as howling animation can't play
- As with other cloaking abilities, enemies will be alerted by physical contact or noise made by the player such as firing a weapon.
- The Kubrow itself will not engage enemies during Stalk. However, if it is already aggressive when Stalk activates, it can continue to attack without breaking cloak.
- The activation range of Stalk is centered on the player and not the Huras Kubrow, however the Kubrow has to be within a certain distance to the player in order to activate the cloak.
- Activation does not require line of sight from player or Huras Kubrow.
- The visual effect is identical. The Kubrow will make a howl animation when activating it.
- Scanning an enemy will not break cloak but it will make the Kubrow attack the target, making this skill unsuitable for full stealth scan runs.
- Abilities that break the invisibility:
- All Exalted Weapons upon attacking (just activation is fine)
Ash's
Fatal Teleport or casting
Teleport to join
Blade Storm
Hydroid's
Undertow upon deactivation
Ivara's
Quiver when using with
Artemis Bow's alt fire
Nyx's
Absorb
Sevagoth's
Exalted Shadow upon
Reunite (Sevagoth will still be invisible while Exalted Shadow is active)
Titania's
Razorwing upon activation
- Abilities that will not break the invisibility, even when they should be considered as attacking:
- Other ability interaction
- Activating other forms of invisibility, while Stalk is active, will not break the effect of Stalk after the other effect ends, provided there is still an enemy in proximity and no weapon/ability that would break the effect was used.
- Casting
Equinox's
Duality will not break the effect, but the opposite form will not be affected by Stalk.
- On Transference out,
Excalibur Umbra will become visible, resume his sentience and attack nearby enemeies. On Tranference in, Umbra will immediately become invisible again.
- Mirror images from
Mirage's
Hall of Mirrors will become completely invisible under the effect of Stalk.
- Casting
Wukong's
Celestial Twin will not break the effect, but the twin will not be affected by Stalk.
- Casting
Nekros's
Shadows of the Dead will not break the effect, but shadows will not be affected by Stalk.
- If Stalk is activated before or while the Warframe is downed, but the Huras Kubrow is not, the Warframe will be immediately cloaked when revived by Unairu's Last Gasp.
Tips[]
- Warframes can become invisible and continue to kill enemies with abilities, without breaking the effect, provided there is at least one enemy within range, and don't attack with weapons.
Bugs[]
- There have been multiple reported instances of the Huras Stalk ability sometimes making the player warframe completely disappear mid mission.
- This only affects the player, as allies and enemies will still be able to see the player while he is in this state, and the hitbox or movement mechanics appear to be unchanged.
- The only way to get back a material form is ending the mission and returning to the orbiter.
- During the Defense mission in the Howl of the Kubrow questline for the Nai Zhen Collar, the effect of Stalk does not dissipate while attacking.
- This may possibly be caused by the Kubrow not precisely occupying the player's Companion slot.
- When using continuous beam weapons such as the Quanta, the player may be affected by the Stalk effect without dissipation if the ability is used while continually firing; effectively making the player able to deal damage while cloaked.

I decided to test this in the simulacrum to compare against ghost, and noticed that it is in fact centered on the dog (it won't turn on if you're standing 23m away from an enemy and your dog is 3m behind you, but it will turn on if you're standing 26m away from an enemy with your dog 2m in front of you), and using a synthesis scanner does break prowl now. It doesn't have the weird targeting that ghost does, so it's much more consistent about not dropping stealth randomly when an enemy dies nearby. The dog-centered targeting would explain why I've had stealth drop from huras in survival sometimes if the dog runs far away for Smart AI Reasons and ends up in an area with no enemies.
Thanks.
Was thinking about which is more reliable. Thank you for the info.
Hi, I used to level a Huras some long time ago and can't remember exactly why it felt so trashy to me noob back then lol, so can someone please confirm that using a melee weapon breaks the stealth? In my opinion that would kill any interest I could have in the Huras. Unless... I'd infuse Lull to some AoE frame like Saryn or whatever (page explicitly states Revenant's ult doesn't break Stalk for example). The problem with Lull is still that only enemies within line of sight are put to sleep, so invis required.
Anyone tried that already?...
Want to test how good is with xaku, you always have you 75% dodge/Aoe res so adding invi to the equation can make the lost bullet less of a issue, also can gaze a enemy making a permanent area to be invisible, the only problem i can see is that you can't accuse then gaze as accused enemies count as allies(tested with shade) so you you have to chose between a permanent distraction or invisibility
Bullet jump damage also doesn't break cloak. Using the elemental damage mods for said jumps can have its niche uses (I use it in Naeglar/Eris for creating some elbow-room as I look for stuff)
Can we please add somewhere on this article that the Kubrow itself will engage enemies during Stalk if the players scans them with the synthesis scanner?
seems like it would be useful information so people don't waste time getting this pet only to find it won't work for stealth scan runs!
"Lasts 10 seconds" is wrong. It last about 2 minutes. You just have to keep at least one enemy alive close to you (24 meters) If an ally kills all enemies close to you, then the ability turns off as well. Thats why people think it last shorter to them, cause this mod is kind of unreliable in squad runs.
Updated: Im the creator of this comment. I did my tests and you can confirm what i write next, if you repeat them.. here you are:
Run simulacrum with pause AI enemies (so you can be sure enemies will always be at least 24 meters near you)
Wait till the ability activates and just start to run, walk, dodge or move in general close to them (without attacking with guns or melee)
I was doing that for 20 minutes. Stalk was all the time activated. So i guess it may last forever (feel free to test it more, if you have the time and the patience)
-Important note: if you are totally still (static potition), stalk is deactivated after exactly 1 minute, even if you keep using your warframe's abilities.
I guess the game after 1 minute in static potition 'marks' you as 'innactive' and thats a rule for mark to be stopped.
*...and thats a rule for stalk to be stopped (deactivated)
I'm one of the people claiming a ten second duration. I'd try to get some footage but I consigned the Huras already. Perhaps something causes it to bug and break early? If anyone else who's experienced the short duration Stalks still has theirs maybe they could provide some videos.
^ poster here again. Got another Huras and tested Stalk, this time equipping nothing else. Went to Selkie, Sedna SP (occupied by Corpus, though) and this time it works just as advertised. I kinda wish it hadn't because now I look like a person making stuff up on the internet.
Dunno if it's a recent change, but Stalk only lasts about 10 seconds now, making it pretty much worthless.
I confirm this yes.
I think that other players too can break your invisibility cause it seems doesnt work in party
"Stalk can persist for more than 2 minutes. However, it does have a time limit."
So what is the time limit? You no tell then how people will know?
Ouch someone didn't understand how a community works, I guess... =)
It says "As with other cloaking abilities, enemies will be alerted by physical contact or noise made by the player such as firing a weapon." Though sadly it still breaks with suppressed/silent weapons. This, along with Ghost, needs to be changed. Also, stalk is very finicky, i can be right next to an enemy and it won't activate. It really is quite a finicky little ability.
This page is wrong, this is not transmutable.
Fixed, thanks.
This page links something called shadow step in the Naramon focus tree but there is no shadow step mentioned anywhere on that page aside from someone in the comments talking about a problem with maxing it.
Yeah that's outdated info that should be removed. Naramon used to have a thing where critting an enemy would give you stealth.
It does break with warframe abilities, but only if it is one that lands an attack that procs a status hit(usually IPS type status).
Updated bug section to include a bug I have been having and have seen other people complain about as well.
Thing keeps bugging my weapons and frame, sometimes my weapons stay cloaked or my frame becomes completely invisible to me for the rest of the mission, which makes it difficult to play because you don't see what you're doing.
shade does that to me. DE seems to have decided that loki is the only thing in the game that does invisibility properly
Posted about it in the official forums, feel free to upvote to draw attention.
https://forums.warframe.com/topic/998972-warframe-going-completely-invisible-mid-mission/
Was this (stealth)nerfed on one of the last updates(I'm on console 22.x)? I usually run spy missions with my hyras and now invisibility activates later and deactivates way faster. You can stand right next to a security camera and nothing happens. Not sure if they added the same LOS bullshit which made shade unusable.
Please report it to the bug forum, it has been happening to Huras users.
So... Basically better Ghost? Well, i guess that means RIP Shade whenever the make pets useable. Wich is fucking never! Long live Shade!
Guess it's RIP Shade now since Fetch is a thing now XD
isnt working since the last patch ... why ??
I've run some tests, and I believe that I've figured out how this mod works.
Stalk activates when an enemy is within the designated range and your Kubrow is nearby.
Stalk does NOT have a duration.
Stalk will deactivate if there are no enemies within the designated range AND your Kubrow is nearby, or if you attack with a weapon or weapon-like power (such as Mesa's Peacemaker).
If a glitch or exploit occurs that prevents your kubrow from rejoining your side, you will be invisible for a VERY long time.
(The above was tested on the Cambria mission node on Earth. Using the steam vent boosters causes the Kubrow to stay in the spy room, so you can leave without dropping stealth)
Stalk does have a duration.
Sometimes my invis just turns off for no reason. I get invis, no-one around, walking forwards, no shooting or attacking, pop out of stealth 5 seconds later!
What gives?
There was an enemy around nearby that you didn't see that caused its activation. It functions very similarly to the shade.
Dumb question but can any unique mods like stalk for the huras kubrow work with another kubrow like chesa?
nope, only for assigned kubrow types. The unique mods will say which kubrow it will be available for. When upgrading the kubrow, only the special mods unique to the kubrow type will show up.
