Looter is a mod that allows the Carrier (and its Prime counterpart) to break nearby containers by releasing a wave of energy that destroys all breakable Storage Containers within 12 meters at max rank.
Stats[]
Rank | Range | Cooldown | Cost |
---|---|---|---|
0 | 4.5m | 1s | 2 |
1 | 6m | 1s | 3 |
2 | 7.5m | 1s | 4 |
3 | 9m | 1s | 5 |
4 | 10.5m | 1s | 6 |
5 | 12m | 1s | 7 |
Acquisition[]
- This mod can be acquired from Cephalon Simaris for
75,000.
Notes[]
- Has a cooldown of 1 second.
- Looter does not require a sentinel weapon or the
Striker precept equipped.
- Looter will trigger for Resource Deposits.
- Use Looter alongside
Vacuum to ensure the pickups be gathered once the containers are destroyed.
- Looter will not attempt to trigger for Rare or Reinforced Storage Containers, possibly due to the container requiring more damage to open, or to prevent the contents from being overlooked.
- Looter effects are silent and will not alert nearby enemies.
- Looter will not detonate nearby Explosive Barrels or LN2 barrels, even if caught in the blast wave.
- The wave of energy will break containers through walls. However, Carrier still needs a line of sight to a container to trigger Looter.
- Looter will not trigger if the companion is busy doing something else such as shooting (with the
Assault Mode precept) or boosting shields (with
Shield Charger)

Question is: I know that the mod has a internal cooldown but do increasing fire rate on his weapon will decrease it? I know that he don't need a weapon to activate this mod but still wondering.
No idea, but it would be fairly easy to test it
Remember when Carrier shot crates each by each? Bad times.
Looter does not work while Titania is flying. Unlike Vacuum
Titania Razorwing Form in fact has a built in Vacuum effect that is separate from the Companion Mods that give it, provable by it still being present if you have no companion equipped at all.
Since Companions are completely "Dismissed" / not on the Map while she is in Razorwing, the majority of effects they can provide are disabled or unable to trigger.
It's worth mentioning that some beneficial companion mods DO work while in razorwing. Duplex bond will continue to make clones, which can be useful with dethcube and energy generator to keep her flying. And Tenacious Bond still works, providing her with an extra 60% fire rate and 1.2x multi.
If a container is just a little bit buried on the top , carrier will outright ignore it
For a lot of loot crates i have to stare at it before carrier even sees it
It definitely has a bias to things under it, I don't think it's ever broken a crate over my head.
i would use my moa if it could have this on
Happily and finally equipped Looter today and while moving fast I notticed im passing a lot of loot boxes on map with nothing happening. So when moving fast its effect is like non existing.
Additionaly I stopped by two containers and ....w/o effect! Wtf? Just read here that Looter will not attempt to trigger for Rare or Reinforced Storage Containers.
I'm literally pissed for 75k of burned down standing. Also I wasted reactor to make space for mod on Carrier!
TLTR summary: Looter is waste & crap & sht & total ****.
There exists people who will take a picture everytime they found a rare container before break it open, likely the reason why DE make looter funciton like that.
Even if it doesnt break rare containers, the fact that you will hopefully be killing the extra containers (just in case one is a sculpure or rare container) then just slow down for like .1 second and pop it yourself.
People who loves to capture the moment of rare container caused that, not dev's fault.
If you're trying to loot the map just run Thief's Wit or Animal Instinct and break containers yourself, much faster and doesn't cost 75k Simaris standing.
Would love to see there be some benefit to letting Carrier break containers, as is this is really just for players who don't want to take the split second to press their melee button to break a container or are insane enough to do loot runs without a loot radar mod on.
And for everyone saying that we're all morons for saying there are better options to do this because it means we have to run a specific weapon or frame: how have you not noticed that this mod requires you to run Carrier all the time to use it? That's the same exact issue you have with using Ignis or Volt to do the same thing. I want to use other Companions, not just carrier for the rest of eternity.
Yareli's 3 is great for quickly breaking containers and simultaneously wreaking havok on enemies, so I just throw Thief's Wit on her - usually for Syndicate missions - and run through. I don't have Looter yet, but it sounds kind of inefficient compared to what some frames can accomplish with abilities.
Still, it's nice that there are options for people who either don't want to run carrier all the time or don't want to run a specific frame all the time.
The mod tile says its tradable, but when you attempt to trade you cannot. Is this a glitch or a design function?
You cannot trade it if it's the only one you have for some reason. If you have 2 or more than you can trade it
This mod needs to be improved: instant and no delay. It's just about breaking containers, it doesn't need to be that limited. Right now if there are 2 containers separated by a few meters it would be faster to just use a weapon than wait for the delay.
It may be useful to break some random containers that you don't see like in speed runs, but not for the others, that is to say, most of the time.
Am I reading things right? This mod was accidentally introduced in October 2013, quickly removed, then properly introduced in March 2016? They kept a mod unreleased for over two years? Seeing numbers like this, without proper context, makes you wonder what else are they holding from us? And why are they holding it?
Category:Retrieved Content = mods that we know about.
Other things: Prisma Orthos, Prisma Fluctus, Cadus (a Junction specter wields this)
China-only Warframe things: Cadus, Prisma Machete, Carmine Penta
What... Prisma Orthos? But the Orthos is a tenno weapon
^ wdym, all weapons can be prisma too. Besides.. Prisma Orthos are you serious? why they didn't released it yet?
I like it, just wish it worked a bit more... consistently. Sometimes it takes more than one wave to destroy a container for some reason, other times it seems like your own Warframe is obstructing Carrier's line of sight and prevents him from triggering Looter. Generally, though, a nice quality of life mod for those who are just too lazy to blast all those containers themselves and would rather stand around waiting for Carrier to do its thing
i just got an Ayatan sculpture from a mission and have no recollection of picking one up. i probably just zoned out and didn't notice, but... Looter doesn't somehow make them vacuumable, does it?
nvm, confirmed it for myself. doesn't touch sculptures in any way, i was just mindlessly picking up things
It wasn't like... A sortie, or arbitration, was it? Because those can give you ayatans as a reward lol
shoulda remove the cooldown, or tone it down to 0,75 secs
Edit: THIS MOD IS NOT FOR FAST MOVING/SPEED RUN MATERIAL COLLECTING
even so, aim & shoot the containers is much more faster, help yourself, get Ignis + Animal Instinct!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS 75k SIMARIS STANDING POINTS
Do not heed this terrible advice. I cannot live without this mod now. The cooldown is extremely low and I have so many ayatan stars I would otherwise not have found due to this mod. It breaks open containers constantly and I haven't had to actually shoot a container since I got it. Most underrated mod in the game imo.Only downside is that it can only be used on carrier, which while it is my most used companion, it'd be nice if it was just a general sentinel mod.
Don't listen to all the morons saying it's useless, the internal cooldown is short enough to reliably break all the crates on your path. It's so nice to passively break everything and get a bunch of stars just bc you have it on
Its not true. Today it just broke a Rare Orokin and Grineer Storage Container. I just ran around with invi Loki (not attack nor alert enemies, just run around), and it just broke them while I was 10m away.
It only breaks one container at a time for me regardless of distance like wtf?
not anymore
I love this mod, once you use it theres no going back. Its very common to move arround and just see the ayatan stars pop arround all the time.
What is so bad about this mod, iv used it for a long while and iv gotten so much use out of it i hardly ever have to melee a crate before carrier does it for me, he clears rooms and even crates and materials on the way as i am moving through a tileset and picks it up through vacuum i dont see a better mod that can replace looter especially with 10 mod slots there is definatly room to fit this in any carrier build
Using an Ignis is far faster for clearing loads of containers, and doesnt have a cooldown..
Because one would always want to use the ignis playing the game, when you just need carrier and this mod to do that for you and have your choice of weapon for anything else, especially when the cooldown is negligible at 1.5 seconds
Why they went through all the hassle to make an useless buff? Actually just make this mod adding containers into targeting precept, now it's 10000% more useful and problem solved.
Are you fucking serious? For one, that's how it should have been on release, not a year fucking later!! Two, it's still shit(?)
