Styanax's animated short, see Ascension Day.
Ascension is a Mission type. Marauding Corpus forces seek to claim a treasure guarded by the Stalker, forcing the Tenno to intervene and ascend the item safely to the surface.
Access to this mission requires completion of the Jade Shadows quest.
It is located at Uranus- Brutus
Mechanics[]
At the start, players are instructed to locate a Mote Collector and protect it from waves of Corpus in a 1 minute timed defense. If the collector loses all its health, the timer will pause until it regenerates.
After successfully protecting the collector, they must then proceed to an elevator and guard an Extraction Capsule as it ascends. Players must charge the Elevator Power gauge by throwing Ionic Charges, dropped by enemies, or Boosted Ionic Charges, found within roughly 50m of the elevator at fixed spawn points, at the Extraction Capsule. Boosted Charges are slightly larger and possess two marker outlines instead of one. Boosted charges will speed up the elevator by 3x, lasting for 10 seconds when applied, stacking up to a maximum of 50 seconds total. Power is maxed at 50, with the first charge providing full power, and subsequent charges (Boosted or otherwise), providing 20 power. The capsule is invulnerable during this phase.
During the elevator ride, players can also optionally collect 3 Sister Beacons found throughout the floors to summon a Sister of Parvos once the elevator reaches the top.
Once the elevator stops and the summoned Sister is defeated, players must continue to defend the capsule as it travels a preset path to extraction upon which will complete the mission, similar to Hijack. If the capsule loses all its shields, it will stop moving and become invulnerable until it regains its shields.
The mission has a high spawn rate of Jade Light Eximus, who have the ability to summon continuous jade satellite lasers that move and hover above player's heads, rapidly damaging them with Heat. These lasers can be destroyed by killing the Eximus that summoned them or shooting the orb at the top of the laser.
Rewards[]
Completion of the mission awards 11-13
Vestigial Motes (16-18 on The Steel Path), which can be traded to Ordis in the Drifter's Camp for the blueprints for
Jade,
Harmony,
Cantare, and
Evensong, and the Arcane Enhancements
Arcane Ice Storm,
Arcane Battery,
Secondary Surge,
Secondary Fortifier, and
Melee Afflictions.
Summoned Sisters of Parvos will drop 5-7 Vestigial Motes and 33% chance at the above Arcanes (8-10 Motes, guaranteed Arcane, and 2
Steel Essence on The Steel Path). Loot abilities (e.g.
Nekros's
Desecrate), Resource Boosters, and
Smeeta Kavat's
Charm have no effect on the Sister.
Juno Sapper MOA are unique to this mission which can drop the mods
Semi-Rifle Cannonade,
Semi-Pistol Cannonade,
Semi-Shotgun Cannonade,
Rifle Elementalist,
Melee Elementalist,
Pistol Elementalist, and

Notes[]
Jade's Prex appears directly south of the starting area, underneath a ramp.- Before starting the elevator ride, Ordis will permanently buff all Tenno with Uplift, increasing Bullet Jump distance.
- There are more than 3 Sister Beacons scattered around the elevator shaft, giving players some leeway in searching known spawn locations.
- The summoned Sister of Parvos has a randomly generated name, personality, weapons, and abilities, only possesses a single health bar, and she and her Hound will immediately be defeated upon depleting her health without the need for Mercy. However, she will not drop any traditional Sister rewards, such as her weapon, Hound, and Ephemera if any. She also lacks the randomized resistances normal to both Sisters of Parvos and Kuva Liches.
- Acolytes will not spawn in The Steel Path version this mission.
Tips[]
- All enemies are Corpus which are vulnerable to
Puncture and
Magnetic damage. Magnetic damage also helps curb the high prevalence of the Eximus's Overguard. - In case the players miss the elevator as it goes up or fall off, there are Sentient-themed launch pads which can hurl them upwards, scaling with the height of the elevator.
- Ionic Charges only detonate if they land on the Extraction Capsule, and so they can be stockpiled by throwing or dropping them on the elevator.
- If intending to do this mission solo, Warframes who have high survivability and/or burst damage capability are recommended, especially if one intends to summon a Sister of Parvos.
Revenant can use
Mesmer Skin to enhance his survivability while leaving enemies open for
Enthrall free of cost, and
Danse Macabre is very effective at stripping the shields from Eximus units, as well as the Sister of Parvos.
Kullervo has plenty of opportunities to build up his combo counter in this mission, as
Recompense enhances his survivability while building up the damage for
Wrathful Advance in order to deal with Jade Light Eximus units, as well as to deal heavy damage to the Sister of Parvos.
Gloom, either from
Sevagoth himself or infused into other Warframes, will greatly help in crowd control and especially against the summoned Sister, who is not immune to the aura's slowing effects.
Silence, either on
Banshee as is or subsumed onto another Warframe, will prevent Eximus from using their abilities.- As the summoned Sister of Parvos is randomized, this can potentially include
Toxin-based Sisters whose weapons can bypass Shields on top of access to
Cursed Ground to inflict
Radiation procs on players. Having a Warframe who can generate Overguard for the squad, such as
Dante or
Frost with
Icy Avalanche, is recommended. - Boosted Ionic Charges are plentiful enough that there is no need to interact with their lesser variant at all. If one is purely concerned with speed of mission completion, there is no reason to kill anyone during the elevator portion of the mission, as the time spent killing them is better spent keeping up with the elevator spawning more Boosted charges.
Patch History[]
Hotfix 36.0.5 (2024-07-20)
- Fixes towards projectiles phasing through the Ascension elevator while it's in motion.
- Fixed Boosted Ionic Charges incorrectly giving 20s of boost time if the elevator was not boosted.
- Now all Boosted Ionic Charges grant 10s of increased speed, up to the cap of 50s for stacked charges.
- Fixed the Sister Beacon side objective UI disappearing after a Host Migration.
- Fixed Capsule not locking into elevator if Host migration occurs just before it docks - causing the mission to come to a halt.
- Fixed remaining Sister Beacons not depawning after collecting the required 3.
- Fixed a crash related to the first stage of Ascension missions.
- Fixed a crash in Ascension missions.
- Fixed Stalker’s Landing Craft appearing at Extraction in Ascension missions.
Hotfix 36.0.4 (2024-06-26)
- Elevator speed boost time from Boosted Ionic Charges now stack when throwing multiple at the Extraction Capsule at once (up to a max of 50 seconds).
- The elevator UI has also been updated to indicate the speed boosts and duration. You can now more clearly see how Ionic Charges affect the elevator.
- Fixed Ordis’ “Uplift” Bullet Jump distance buff in Ascension missions overriding players' Parkour upgrades instead of applying additively.
- Fixed being able to pick up multiple Ionic Charges in Ascension missions, effectively deleting the one that was already in your hand.
- Now these will act like Alchemy Ampoules. You will not be able to pick up Ionic Charges with one already in-hand - unless you are trying to pick up a different type (i.e. normal Ionic Charge vs Boosted Ionic Charge).
- Fixed End of Mission screen not showing Arcanes earned from defeating Sisters of Parvos in the special mode available at Ordis.
- This was a UI-only issue - the Arcanes were still being properly delivered to inventory.

24-28 Vestigial Motes on steel path, when Jade's main BP costs 400......
Devs bloody hate us.
~20 runs for guaranteed drop is not terrible when things like equinox exists
It's still got that occasional bug of the mission not ending, even when the pod's at the extraction point.
Pain.
The bit about boosted ionic charges should be under mechanics, not tips, but i cba to figure out how to wiggle it in without moving other people's text. It should also say that its a 3x movement boost, and that the boosted ionic charges have static spawns, as opposed to normal ones dropping from enemies
I had no idea jade's parts could drop so getting her nueroptics and systems two missions in a row after already having the chassis really surprised me
It was bugged for a day
The operation version was bugged for the first day of launch yea
This is a really good game mode for farming arcanes for vosfor.
72 vosfor per mission and each mission takes 7 minutes casually. I think it may be the best vosfor farm by a long shot
72 vosfor?
I actually kinda like this mission. it's a slow one, but it doesn't feel slow. doing 5 minutes of Survival or any of the numerous Defense variants is plain boring and the moment it starts you just want it to be over. but spending almost 8 minutes on an Ascension run feels okay
That's probably only because it's a new game mode.
It is, which is good, but also, right now you can do sub 6 mins runs pretty easily with random squads, so that's nice its more comparable to survival or similar mission timers.
^^ nothing to do with "new" game mode tho, mirror defend is still suck. this one good cuz it has many things to keep player stay active, do this and that then boom, finish. you even forget about the time you spent on it until it done.
One detail about past updates is how easy to farm the new warframes are, I used to think that I would only subsume when the respective prime arrives, but lately I've been able to subsume them cause I farmed my second one passively. I hope this don't stop from now on.
This mode huh is actually heavily inspired from the old sentient trailer when Hunhow first time appearances with his entire battalion of Sentient forces, The Natah Trailer.
This mode is still insane for farming affinity btw
Not if all the players go AFK in the elevator, as they do in almost every mission I enter
Ah shoot, they "fixed" loot abilities working on the sister. Was so nice having her drop arcanes in duplicates with necros.
Loot doors fixed, desecrate on sister fixed, it's so over....
Freaking chassis x4, cantere x1, nothing else, come on there are like 7 things why did i get chassis 4x ?!
Because that's how droprates are. They hate the players unfortunately.
Personally, for the duration of the event in Belly of the Beast, I think that they should either remove some of the relic drops from the table and increase the percentages of Jade parts and weapons. Or at least make them axi relics instead of meso to make it a little more worthwhile to spam the mission a dozen times in a row.
Past few warframes have had incredibly easy farms, and Jade is no exception:
I played this mode for 2-3 hours (6.5 - 10m runs) and got 2 jade parts and bought the other one plus a weapon for my efforts. This is one of the easiest farms in the entire game, and with the event you are also being showered with arcanes. I also maxed out 3-4 eidolon arcanes that have been sitting at rank 2 or 3 (avenger, aegis, fury, and I don't remember) plus got a boatload of new arcanes from the sisters. What more do you want? You want axi relics to make it 'worth it'? lmao
Maybe so, but I still think the relic drops should definitely be different between regular and Steel Path variants of the mission. Plus not everyone has the time to no life the mission 10-20 or more times per day. Nor is everyone so lucky to get the parts to drop in the mission either. Nor does everyone have the patience to just keep running the same mission that many times in a row without getting frustrated and just quitting because of it. And some people might be wanting to save the few motes they are able to get when they can get on to play, to grab the arcanes that they might be wanting to pick up and or max finally, such as you did with Arcane Avenger, etc...
There's loads of drop rates in Warframe that could definitely use some tweaking in the favor of the players I think. Equinox is a great example of this. I've heard of some people going months of grinding off and on, and doing that mission well into the hundreds of times, and just been so unlucky as to have it take many times to get that last part they were missing.
We should be able to trade 2 unwanted parts for 1 wanted part
A pity system with a 2 to 1 ratio is pretty good
So does the duration of the speed buff stack when throwing a boosted charge while it is already boosted or does it just reset?
It resets.
It stacks now up to 50s.
If you boost when the boost is already ongoing (even 1s left) you get +10sec, but if you boost when it's unboosted, it gives 20sec. Wish more people noticed it and stopped just mindlessly chucking stuff in, it's so much faster with constant 20sec boosts
Doing this mission make me understand why it takes so long for the Stalker to come kill me.
Right? that elevator shaft must be going all the way down to the Earth's core
You mean it goes deep into Uranus.
Derp. of course. i'm stupid, lol. but Uranus probably has a solid core, too, (hehe, solids in Uranus) so at least my intended statement still works
There's supposed to be a jade prex card in this mission somewhere. Has anyone found it? And if so, where?
Under a stair in the star area.
This article says you mush have leveled Jade to 30 before it will appear. :D
Its bugged af, I picked it up like 20 times before it finally showed up in my Inventory
Because supposedly you need to be host as well as having jade leveled.
Remember when DE were praised for making unintended bugs n shi as features? Instead of just getting rid of them and pretending they never existed? When we getting a mode where we can hunker down and have thousands of enemies to kill within a dozen minutes. Now yes Steel Path modifier boosts spawns, but the AI pathing is abyssmal. You NEED a small tight corridor (like the area where the elevator stops) for those spawns to feel good.
Withing a dozen minutes? we were killing hundreds within seconds. Heard that Sayrn and Dual ichor incarnon i think, crashed the game for them when they hit the point where they spawned infinitely. they weren't able to fight they were just spawn kill
Now that they fixed the enemies spawning when extraction is available. the only good thing about this mission is that it ends.
They just had to kill the loot cave, instead of nerfing the drops.
Hope we get a worth a damn loot cave mode someday
Hopefully not because that shit almost fried my pc
I got 8 volatile motes after 11 minutes of normal ascension, then 5 volatile motes 11 minutes (including killing the sister). With steel path I got 12 after 11 minutes, then 12 after 11 minutes (including sister).
Good thing about this mission is that you cant fail. The objective just regenerates its shields, which makes it easier to do sp. A bonus as well is getting 2 steel essence per mission if you do it in sp.
So if you wanted to max out an arcane like arcane fury (105 vm) it would take you 231 minutes (4 hours) at least and 110 minutes (2 hours) with steel path. If you cant do steel path then i recommend doing belly alerts as they can give you 10 vm for 5 minutes of work. A steel path enjoyer might wanna do them as well, since it can get tedious doing the same thing over and over again.
Maxing out an arcane like arcane grace (996 vm) would take 1089 minutes (18 hours) at least and 913 minutes (15 hours) with steel path.
Im gonna farm it passively, because thats a lot of farming. Do like 5 steel path missions a day for 17 days and get my arcane. Doesnt seem like a bad approach, plus, the game is about patience. So I recommend trying a similar thing. Better to not burn out and hate the game
Me. I don't have much of anything in regards to Steel path builds lmao
There is no way a single mission is giving you 20 volatile motes. Its like 8-10 on mission completion and 2-4 for defeating the sister. Most you can get is 14 if you high roll both rolls.
I just noticed that steel path belly alerts give consistent 15 vm for 5 minutes of work, so steel path enjoyers should do them for maximum efficiency.
They've mixed them up. Volatile are the chunky ones and they're only for the event. Those are the ones you get from alerts and the belly ascension variant. Vestigial are the long skinny ones and those are Jade's BP currency, like Lua Thrax Plasm for Voruna. Generally speaking you get more vestigial than volatile motes on an ascension run.
The alliteration is nice and all, but damn it's confusing.
This gamemode aint half bad, the elavator could move a bit faster and the battery drops could be more common but beyond that it's fine, the real issue is the spawn rate of the eximus units, these new green tic tacs spawn every 3 seconds on non-steel path, cant imagine how bad it must be on SP
The elevator goes as fast as you can give it the GOOD batteries and if you spread them out properly instead of have squadmates throw 2-3 back-to-back into the thing. (yeah, I wanted to absolutely kill some public squaddies...)
A squad of 4 and maybe an extra stalker all finding and inserting speedup batteries will get you to extraction well before the 7th minute even starts.
To guy who said you find tons of batteries on the elevator - its cuz the rest of us are tossing them down there intentionally.
No one is tossing anything down, they just spawn a lot more when I kill on the elevator, I play solo, hence why I always only talk about what I do or have done lol
Those eximus units are really a pain in the butt. The moment you got caught in the laser, you die, try to evade it, you die from enemy barrage, shoot it, you can live if you can stay calm a bit.
Just bring a Banshee or a frame with silence subsumed to make your life easier. I just bring Banshee and run around to collect the boosted batteries in pubs
The elementalist are like galvanized status mod without condition of "On kill" method
No. The so-called "status damage" on Elementalist mods refers only to "damage caused by status" i.e. slash, heat, elec, gas, blast etc
