Lich system and the Oull Requiem Mod
Ok so…..I have never used Oull as I was saving them for, well I have no idea. So I used one in the first slot. Here’s my problem and question on how to fix if possible. I obviously got the first target correct and have now unlocked all three requiems for my lich. Except I only need two more and I have three to choose from since the Oull doesn’t show which requiem it is taking the place of. The Oull literally makes it harder. If I would have the first requiem correct then I would only have two to choose from for the final two slots. So is there a way to figure out (without meeting my lich a possible two more times to excuse incorrect requiems) which requiem the Oull mod is covering? And if not, I have some Oull requiem mods for sale, because they’re utterly worthless. I hope I’ve phrased this correctly so my problem can be understood. Help me and thank you!
You're supposed to use Oull to kill the Lich before you know the third Requiem, otherwise it is useless.
Oull doesn't make it harder when you're using it correctly. It's not supposed to be used to reveal a requiem mod, but instead, be used if you only have 2 out of the 3 mods, or to be used to finish a sequence if you know two requiems
I use Oull to farm murmurs, not fill the gaps
Stab the lich with Oull everytime it appears then let it alone for the rest of the mission
By the last mission on earth, i have 2 known words, so i put them on first and last slot with Oull in the middle and try my luck
If i get the first one right, i can test the other one right away and know if the other one is the second or the third right away. If i get both of them right, well, my Oull gets used but i get to fight a level 1 Lich in railjack, so it's worth it
I usually get my Liches/Sisters done around level 3 doing things this way
Don't stab until you know at least 1 new requiem. My 1st stab is oull-1st-random just to check the middle slot. Then 1st-oull-2nd if the stab was wrong.
Edit: Oull doesn't make it easier, just faster.
If you only know 1 requiem you can put that in your first slot and only stab the lich once when it shows. If you got it right just don't stab him again and he will retain his same level of anger without leveling up. Then you can slot in a second one once ya know it and try it right off the bat cuz the lich is still mad. Then ya stick oull in the mix and hope ya get the whole thing right.
The only way to figure out what word Oull replaces is by determining where the other 2 words are. If you've been leveling your Lich without rearranging your words (including Oull) every stab attempt... you're gonna have a bad time. If you have been rearranging, you should be able to figure it out based on the successes/failures.
Oull makes hunting substantially easier, even if you try not to spend its charges. If the 1st word in the kill phrase is the 3rd revealed, you can't easily check what the last 2 words order is without Oull. You could end up with an unnecessary level 4/5 lich than if you used Oull and saved yourself at least one unnecessary level up.
Oull is a wildcard, it allows you to guess the right mods and sequence sooner.
The idea is to guess (stab) each time you encounter your Lich as this gives you both murmurs and a chance at finishing the whole chase much sooner.
If you know nothing, equip two random mods and Oull.
If you know one mod, equip it first, one random mod and Oull.
If you know one mod and know it's not the first place, equip Oull in the first place and that mod in the second, random mod third.
If you know a second mod, you now only need the correct sequence as Oull fills the third spot. Hopefully you already know where the first mod goes because of step 2 and 3.
If you know the third mod, you do not need Oull anymore and can replace it if you want.
With a little luck you'll get the correct two mods and sequence before stabbing 4 times, but it usually doesn't take more stabs than that.
Bonus uses of Oull:
- you're missing a mod, Oull can fill the gap
- put Oull early for succesful stabs for more murmurs
However you're going to use Oull, it's definitely not 'worthless' as this module is at least as useful as any of the other modules, except with many extra benefits.
