Voidplumes are Resources used for increasing standing and Syndicate rank with The Holdfasts, as well as crafting materials for
Gyre and Incarnon weapons.

Acquisition[]
- All Zariman Ten Zero missions can spawn a total of 8
Voidplume Downs,
Voidplume Vanes, and
Voidplume Crests scattered across the mission in the form of Syndicate Medallions.
- One Voidplume is guaranteed to be a Crest.
- Two Voidplumes are guaranteed to be Vanes.
- The remaining five Voidplumes have a 75% chance to spawn as Downs, and a 25% chance to spawn as Vanes.
- Zariman Bounties from Quinn award 1-5
Voidplume Quills depending on the difficulty.
- Tier 1 Bounty has a chance to award a
Voidplume Down. - Tier 2 Bounty has a chance to award a
Voidplume Vane. - Tier 3 Bounty has a chance to award a
Voidplume Crest.
- Tier 1 Bounty has a chance to award a
- Finding a Zarium Accolade and delivering it to a Cephalon Melica Cache in any Zariman mission awards 1
Voidplume Quill. Missions generally have two caches to find and unlock. - Ravenous Void Angels that appear in Void Armageddon are guaranteed to drop a
Voidplume Quill upon death as an interactable pickup. - Void Angels found in a dormant state in any Zariman mission are guaranteed to drop a
Voidplume Pinion upon death as an interactable pickup. - Archimedean Yonta offers a selection of Voidplumes for various Zariman Resources. This cycles every 8 hours.
Farming Locations[]
| Target | Planet | Name | Type | Level | Tile Set |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zariman Ten Zero | Halako Perimeter | Exterminate | 50 - 55 | Zariman (Tileset) | |
| Zariman Ten Zero | The Greenway | Mobile Defense | 50 - 55 | Zariman (Tileset) |
- Non-endless missions in the Zariman are recommended since players can explore the tileset after completing the objective. The Exterminate mission Halako Perimeter is particularly effective as the player is naturally forced to maneuver a significant portion of the map. Non-endless Zariman Bounties also tend to be much shorter than endless ones.
- As Voidplume drops in any given Zariman mission are fixed, players can expect to collect anywhere from
16,500 to
19,000 worth of Holdfast Standing in any non-Void Armageddon mission, assuming they take their time exploring the map and their luck with Down/Vane spawns.
Gathering Tips[]
- During Zariman Bounties, searching for Voidplumes should not take priority until after the bounty is completed, as ignoring the objective will likely cause mission failure and thus lose out on all collected Voidplumes.
- As the lower tier plumes (
Voidplume Down,
Voidplume Vane and
Voidplume Crest) and the Zarium Accolades are located as Syndicate-like medallions all around the Zariman tileset, having a Warframe and/or companion with large loot detection capability (
Loot Detector,
Thief's Wit,
Animal Instinct) and infusing
Golden Instinct will greatly help in recovering these items. - Activating Lost Spirits dotted around the map will spawn a ghostly child who will run towards the nearest Voidplume, Zariman Accolade, or Somacord fragment and then despawn. They run along the ground, and can be sped up by using Volt's Speed. Do be careful not to lose them, as the trail they leave behind is short, their laughter is quiet, and they ignore enemies entirely, leading you to some potentially dangerous situations.
- Picking up the Voidplume before the spirit can reach it will cause the spirit to divert to another item, if available, so a single spirit can be used to find multiple Voidplumes.
- The spirits will NOT lead you to the Dormant Void Angel or any of the Cephalon Melica Consoles.
Trivia[]
- The Voidplume and its variants all take their names from types of Feathers, or parts of a feather;
- A Plume is a large feather on certain bird species such as ostriches and peafowl, and are typically used for displays.
- Down generally refers to the layer of fine feathers used as insulation.
- The Vane of a feather refers to the overall body of the feather itself, composed of barbs that branch out of the central "spine" of the feather itself. Contrary to its in-game description, all feathers have vanes and not just the flight feathers; the archetypal feather shape is due to microscopic hooks that hold the barbs together, a trait down feathers lack.
- The Crest refers specifically to feathers on the heads of some bird species such as cockatoos, which can be folded out or in at will. The in-game description supports this.
- The Quill is the root of the feather that attaches to a follicle on the bird's body.
- The Pinion specifically refers to the outermost flight feathers on a bird's wing.
- According to Quinn, Voidplumes have a similar function to Aya, and is believed by Archimedean Yonta to contain the memories of the Holdfasts.
Patch History[]
Hotfix 32.3.2 (2023-02-16)
- Fixed Voidplume Vanes appearing half as often as other Voidplumes in Archimedean Yonta’s wares.
Update 32.2 (2022-11-30)
- Fixed unreachable Voidplumes that drop between some crates in the Zariman tileset. As reported here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/wo51ja/voidplume_pinion_dropped_in_a_impossible_to_reach/
Update 32.1 (2022-11-02)
- Made the following changes to the UI pop-up notifications for pickups:
- Added a UI pop-up notification for Voidplumes.
- Updated the UI pop-up notification with a new look and flare. The pop-up now includes who on the team picked up the item (includes Syndicate Medallions and Voidplumes).
Update 32.0 (2022-09-07)
- Re-added the remaining Voidplume UI counter onboard the Zariman (similar to Medallions in Syndicate Missions).
- Fixed picking up Void Plumes from Void Angels or Melica Caches triggering the “Found X/Y” popup message.
- Since there are no fixed numbers in the levels from Void Angels/Melica, it didn’t make sense to show messaging for these.
Update 31.6 (2022-06-09)
- Voidplumes can now be earned from Archimedean Yonta by trading in resources found throughout the Zariman! Voidplumes rotate every 8 hours, a Time Left to Trade timer is available to indicate the next upcoming rotation.
- The Voidplume Quill amount for completing Bounty challenges has been increased by 1 for all Tier 3 and higher Bounties.
- Voidplume pickups will now count towards the Syndicate Medallion Riven challenge.
- Fixed Voidplumes not being grouped together in the End of Mission screen.
Hotfix 31.5.2 (2022-04-28)
- Syndicate Medallions Change:
We have made a gamewide change to how Syndicate Medallions spawn in missions - this of course also applies to the latest addition of Voidplumes!
Before: Medallions of all tiers spawn completely at random with no logic attached to it.
NOW: There is now a guarantee that out of the 8 Medallions that spawn in a mission:
- 1 will be Rare (aka Voidplume Crest now guaranteed in every mission)!
- 2 will be Uncommon
- The remaining 5 will have a chance to be either Common (75%) or Uncommon (25%).
There is now far more benefit to finding all 8 Medallions, as you are guaranteed 3 higher tier out of the total 8.
Update 31.5 (2022-04-27)
- Introduced.

Just remember if you are a solo player and you attempt to find a voidplume you will fail your mission. You can buy them though, so you can progress eventually.
Um, what?
Completely ignoring the mission/bounty objectives in favor of searching for Voidplumes can cause you to fail, but you make it sound like any searching for Voidplumes at all will cause you to fail, which is simply not true.
Some mission types are more favorable than others for Voidplume hunting:
Exterminate and Mobile Defense give you PLENTY of extra time to search for VPs.
Void Flood will sometimes give you extra time to search for VPs, but is definitely not as good as Exterminate and Mobile Defense.
Void Cascade and Void Armageddon usually do not give you any extra time to search for VPs.
I notice if any squad picks up a voidplume, everybody gets it too. However, it's not mentioned anywhere on the wiki it seems?
That wasn't originally the case, maybe wiki is not updated abt that.
For those of you who can't yet or don't want to use special builds or frames to break containers, try using the Concealed Explosives mod on Spira or Hikou. With a single mod you get a 10m radius explosive that fires and reloads quickly, and uses common secondary ammo. Just equip a loot radar mod and vacuum mod, pepper the walls, and see all the numbers pop up. Ideally some stagger or status immunity will help a lot -- staggers like crazy otherwise. There are obviously other more powerful explosive weapons and more effective frame-based setups, but this is surprisingly effective and easy.
Subsume coil horizon on max range protea. Coil horizon will break all containers and vacuum all ammo/materials to its implosion point better revealing the voidplume location. I chose protea so energy wont be a problem. Zenurik + dispense + equilibrium + synth fiber = unlimited energy.
Obtaining a Parallax with its Golden Eye air support ability makes gathering plumes pretty trivial. It usually takes me about 20 mins to solo grind an extermination with getting all the plumes possible (8 on the map + 2 from accolades + 1 from the Void Angel). Nothing to brag about, but this amount of time necessary is convenient for me.
The flaw is you have cooldown of 5 min, recommeded to find a squad with that must have a parralax, Xaku just nukes the intro area so dont waste at beginner, go 100 meter and start put it down. Other put it down after another 200 meter one by one. This will save 15 min by just playing the normal mission.
They are chnaging this, it takes to long on mission. So when 1 person gets 1, everyone gets it. NO more 4 people running all over hell.
Hunting for these is really bad if you don't have the right setup. Even then, scouring every corner and every pixel of the map is far worse than sitting in one spot and farming with Desecrate. There's just something about looking for these things that's extremely draining.
Treasure hunting sounds like a great idea, the first 50 times you do it. But then you realize that it's the only way to progress, and it becomes this. An extremely tedious "egg hunt" activity that makes me want to uninstall the game.
I wholeheartedly agree with you.
This voidplumes are a horrible idea. You've got to pick them up before, or after the actual mission, OR DURING the mission; which means that people doing the mission are actually penalized while the people locating the voidplumes can go extract.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DE, let one player pick it up for the whole team please.
DE: (Dismisses community's opinions)
Info on here is incorrect.
Accolades can give quills, vanes and crests.
Never once got anything besides a quill from accolade. Maybe they made a change
Another good Wf to use for farming Voidplumes is Limbo. He can use rift to be untouchble and Cataclism can be pointed where you want, just set him full range. Health, shield and armor are not necessary but you can rise some if you're not confortable with low stats.
For other suggestions just follow the other comments and always understand your playstyle because all people are different.
Ps: in my opinion the best mission is normal extermination because the bounty one is timed and higher lvl. At the end or meanwhile could be found Void Angel that drop Pinion.
Xaku 300% times better. But you do you.
Let me share advice how to get Voidplumes easy.
Use Xaku.
Equip Ability Range such as Overextended, Stretch and Augur Reach (Cunning Drift is optional).
Equip all Loot Detector mods (pets/companion included).
Vacuum mod is strongly recommended.
Spam The Vast Untime (Preparation mod might be Recommendable).
There you go.
This is my own build to share.
No. Just no.
Xaku is the premier box breaker, meaning you just press 4 in a room then bounce around sucking up all the loot. Anything that doesn't move is a plume. It's by far the easiest option.
@Gancrothor thank you for your build, it works wonderfully
I usually use Khora. While I don't have the Golden Instinct, I do have TWO primed animal instincts with Venari.
Same. It works REALLY well.
Pickup this void-imbued light will spawn a ghost that leads to the nearest voidplume
Not always for a voidplume, that can also go to Somachord fragments
Or even those Ayatan
Voidplume Crest is a fkin nightmare to grind...
It's always goes as that in this game: common - everywhere, unusual - the rarest, rare - usual.
DE x Balance = NONEXISTENT.
