Best weapons for PoE/OV?
I prefer my shotguns, but some stuff just has to be done in the open worlds... I guess. :/ And shotguns aren't much good there. Bows are meh because of travel time. I also like beam weapons, but they aren't very good either!
I like my Burston Prime but I wonder if I should be using a better weapon for the open world parts of Warframe? Dex Sybaris, I guess? Anyone have a good suggestion for semi-auto or auto guns to bring? The number of guns in this game are baffling, I have no idea what would be good.
Hitscan automatics with large magazines and decent accuracy are the most versatile choice for open worlds in my experience. Tiberon Prime or Kuva Hind would be the top weapon in this category.
Or alternatively you might want to bring a sniper rifle in your primary to take down dropships before they land. In which case I think Aksomati Prime might be the best secondary in this category.
Fulmin is my go to. Shotgun mode for close quarters, auto hitscan mode for longer range.
Shotguns are fine as long as you also bring a strong, long-range hitscan Secondary.
My personal favorites are Snipers, which truly shine in this mode.
Snipers are good for eidolon, like lanka (which I use), vectis, rubico. OM Im pretty sure pretty much everything works.
And for the actual “missions” or whatever you want to call them, any gun works... including a shotgun
My go-to is the pairing of a Tombfinger kitgun and a Redeemer Prime.
Tombfinger has the damage to kill stuff reliably, the accuracy to kill stuff from a distance (and enough projectile speed that it's viable to do so despite not being hitscan), a bit of AoE that's just enough to kill random basic enemies if they all group up, and the flexibility that comes with the arcane slot for kitguns. (I generally prefer Pax Charge so I don't ever have to think about ammo, but Pax Seeker is a very strong contender.)
Redeemer Prime is a bit of a weirder pick, with it being mechanically close to a shotgun, but given that I generally go with Ivara for open-world content, it turns out to be extraordinarily efficient to just camp out, invisible, on a zipline over whatever objective you're defending, spamming heavy attacks. Between the stealth multiplier, and Ivara's headshot bonus, you end up able to one-shot even high-level enemies from a pretty respectable distance.
Between those two, I don't end up switching to my primary... basically ever, so I tend to just keep whatever I was last leveling. If I were trying to be as optimal as possible, I'd probably bring a hitscan sniper (Rubico Prime or Vectis Prime) for any REALLY long range stuff.
