Since im done w warframe heres a little secret thingy about Vulklok that I've kept for years:
Most ppl know Vulklok has insane per shot damage but ppl often overlook Vulklok because of the slow ROF. However I figured something out; as it turns out if you just increase Vulkloks fire rate it (pls don't tell DE :p) it basically just kills everything for you. And I'm not exaggerating.. my Vulklok currently has 500,000 kills which is more than many players have in total.
On optimizing this build by using mods, testing, and considering things like enemy health damage per shot you'll come up with something like this; Serration, galvanized rifle ms, 90% heat, speed trigger, vile accel, p. shred, vital sense, Riven. Now the riven is a little subjective but for mine I went with ROF, cc, and -SD. If you don't have cc on your riven, pbbly add point strike. Hunter munitions works too BTW if scaling is a concern for you.
This high rof, moderate damage build allows Vulklok to 1 shot most enemies up to about level 80, however instead of pushing damage, push fire rate, this allows it to hit more enemies quicker. So we theoretically lose some scaleabilty but make up for it in number of hits. Basically it one shots an enemy up to lvl 80 then it refires fairly quickly at another enemy, 1 shotting them as well. Mind you the delay for mine is about 1 1/2 seconds between shots. This translates to 2 kills per three seconds on any enemies within vulkloks' huge range.
Furthermore its possible to augment this fire rate even further using warframe abilities. For example my wisp has a max strength build (400 ish) meant for the haste mote's rof buff. Using this wisp build with my vulklok build its easy for me to afk defense missions even up to around wave 45. Instead of firing once every 1 1/2 seconds its more like once per second or even a bit faster.
You can further augment this build with the Heat damage companion mod "fired up" as well as the companion clone mod which allows multiple copies of your sentinel to all fire their vulkloks and move around seeking out enemies.
Lastly its important to note just how effective a Vulklok speed build is in nearly every mode. I've had players complain about me stealing kills, despite the fact that I wasn't doing anything except watching Vulklok kill everything. I have to actually unequip vulklok when using slower weapons and snipers or it steals all the kills before I can even line up the shots. Its not uncommon for me to eat meals mid mission because I know vulklok will kill everything for me. Vulklok can solo survival, defense, capture, etc with the greatest of ease.
Its not just a "companion weapon" it is a weapon. Its more effective by itself then some actual weapons. Its more accurate than me and typically gets more kills than the average warframe player (again, not exaggerating) I could go on but I'll just say give a high ROF build a go, pick up a riven, and perhaps you'll fall in love with this amazing gun too <3 P.S. pls don't tell DE
So, how exactly did u build it? Like, exact mods
They literally listed the exact mods in the comment.
"0.15 Fire Rate"
This is like the Megumin Explosion Charge of Sentinel weapons.
... and it does 35 base Electric Damage.
I can fully see DE pulling like this in the near future...
DE: "Don't worry guys! We can balance it!"
Also DE: *Makes it do 10 Base Electric Damage and that's the only change.*
(Bonus points if they're lie on the spot with something like "The Riven Disposition was too high, can't have things getting too crazy" or some other garbage excuse.)
It seems to have been buffed damage wise recently but yeah nothing great. It can kill in SP tho which is good enough for me.
"It seems to have been buffed damage wise recently"
You're right! It went up to... 85 base Electric Damage.
Casual reminder that the Verglas- which is a precise beam weapon with high status, identical stats to the Primary Weapon "Glaxion"- has 26 base Cold Damage.
With a decent fire rate, good range, amazing Status Chance (36% base) and access to Shivering Contagion?
There is no reason the Vulklok needs to be this bad, though I find it funny that they stealth-buffed it.
To the one DE employee reading this? The problem wasn't the damage... it was the Fire Rate.
This thing will not a target for the life of it. When Vulklok is done charging? Everything is dead three times over.
I get it's the "slow sniper rifle" of Sentinel guns... but it's also the slowest of ANY gun. Period.
... all with travel time AND an damage element that has more for it's secondary effects rather than raw damage?
It's whole purpose is to be useful for Tenacious Bond and Vulcax can fit that just as well.
They need to buff it again. I dont get the last nerf even to this day, considering where we at too.....
The only sentinel weapon ive found so far, didn't test much, that actually does elec procs properly and doesn't just do a stagger anim. Please list if you find more.
Worth noting this is the only sentinel/moa weapon that can activate the bonus effect of tenacious bond. Nothing else really has a workable crit chance.
Vulcax too no?
With crit delay I guess it works. The weapon itself though is a mess. I'd still not recommend using it.
Without riven yes. If you can get a riven Deth Machine Rifle Prime is a pretty good alternative.
Does anyone else have this problem? When I try to put critical delay and vital sense onto this weapon no other mods before them in order affect any stats, and any mods placed after them in order remove the effects of the the two mods and instead just apply the new mod effects. Mod capacity is still being drained. Is this a visual bug or am I missing something?
I recently had an intriguing idea that might return Vulklok to its old glory, if not make it even better, although I have yet to test it, and it would require a very specific riven. The main flaw with Vulklok is the absolutely atrocious rate of fire; on the other hand, the reload speed is just fine. Between Depleted Reload and a riven, it should be possible to reduce the magazine size down to 1, which theoretically should completely eliminate any effect from the rate of fire. (This does work on a Vectis Prime) I figured I'd see if anyone had tried this before trying to acquire a suitable riven
No, it will after 6 second to know "Oh,I need reload",its a AI Defect ,test on -mag riven and depleted reload.
Yes unfortunately it doesn't work. -100 mag w riven and depleted just makes it not shoot even more so
0.15 fire rate makes me lol.
It was HEAVILY nerfed after it came out (fire rate of 1) because people could AFK defence missions solo on the old enemy scaling.
Now?
it just oneshots anything it hits once every 8 seconds with perfect accuracy and STILL solos a number of defence missions if you get a lucky riven.
Not that perfect. It has trouble with moving targets beyond 40m unless you put Terminal Velocity on it.
I smell a vulklok prime coming soon
Kuva dirga/vulklok would also be interesting, doubt it'll ever happen though.
Yeah, they're unlikely to add more Kuvas.
Hope they add Kuva gorgon, still have 6 great/godrolls
Its been over a year, i think your calculations were wrong or DE's version of soon is like 5 years
Just tested cc, electric, -mag riven, primed chamber, depleted reload, primed fast hands. Works supremely well in game but in simulcrum it fires 2 shots then stops, presumably a glitch.
all companions/sentinels stop attacking in simulcrum after a few seconds, making it a bad place to really test mod setups for them.
Just got this semi god roll fresh out the box, Does the negative status duration ruin the entire riven?
course not
Lucky lucky tenno
Verra nize, just got a 216% dmg 200% Crit chance riv :v
Get a rof and critical chance riven, slap on primed shred and vile acceleration. Set up for radiation or corrosive. Go solo into lith defense and go afk. It will clear everything up to wave 25 before it even starts to struggle dps wise. I've had low mr players complain that I was stealing their kills (wasnt even shooting) because Vulklok. Its got 150k kills on my old account and 50k so far on my new account, Vulklok blatantly has more total kills than any of my other weapons.
You can also use munitions if you're worried about it scaling up. It goes up to about level 50 on a pure radiation crit build, and munitions can probably push it up to killing level 90's reliably at the cost of some fire rate
Can you use Aero Agility on this? It's for the sake of completing the set without actually using a sniper as a primary weapon
Sharpshooter works on this, but the Sentinel aims for the torso, so it almost never triggers.
A sentinel weapon that doesnt actually have trash base dmg and trash crit and status of like 2-5% like all others?
wow im surprised. an actual good sentinel weapon
Yeah, firing once every 6.67 seconds is pretty terrible. It could have a 100% status chance and still be a bit questionable.
At least it will hit with every shot though unlike all other fast firing ones that have massive recoil and spread past the first shot.
It doesn't! Even it says accuracy 100, it hits like 1 of 5 shots only wtf!
Unless you kill what its aiming at it should hit 96% of the time
Wish I didn't sell my Vulklok riven back then
The riven I got for this makes it even more powerful. It's so useful when you're just trying to peacefully mine. My sentinel just one shots everything that tries to interrupt me within 70m.
But you don't have Smeeta if you have this... What is that even? No multipliers for mining?
How to match two minutes of double loot buff while mining: mine for two extra minutes. That's if your cat procs it at all...
Not sure when this happened but apparently it has 1.5m innate punch through now.
Is Sharpshooter work on this???
Funny how I was trying to get a Lanka Riven, instead I get a Riven for this.
Stats of the RIven:
+42.15 Ammo Maxiumum (Sentinal weapons have unlimited ammo, so this is pointless)
+58% Fire Rate
-142.5% Critical Chance
10/10 you made my day
