Single butane burner suggestions?

I'm wanting to buy a butane burner for cooking different asian style foods but have no idea on what's good etc. Any suggestions? I've heard Itawani is one of the best brands but are most burners $100 about the same in terms of performance? Ideally looking to spend less than $80. My asian market has some but again I don't want to get a piece of crap and don't know what to look for. Any suggestions are very helpful.

I have the Iwatani (I think 12k BTU) and it's been great. No complaints.

Awesome thank you so much h for answering!

Iwatani is definitely the name here. We have the 15K 35FW and it's great. AFAIK, it's the best BTU output you can get in a butane burner - great for stir-fries if you don't own a high-end, high-output stove. It's not a night-and-day improvement, but it does crank out noticeably more heat than our average, oldish, consumer range does even on the high output burner. For $80, it's a worthwhile tool for someone who likes good stir-fry.

How is a butane burner great for Stir Fry? They average around 7k btu, a normal gas range is about 12-18k and proper stir fry is well over 20k.

The burners will have a BTU rating, which is the amount of heat they produce. The maximum I have seen for the cassette style burner is 15,000 BTU. Amazon has two 15,000 BTU butane stoves, both are highly rated, and have "Amazon's Choice." The Iwatami is more money, at $80, but it is made in Japan. The cheaper brand is on sale right now for $50, and is made in China.

If you mean for a wok burner for stir-fry, Butane won't get high enough BTUs, they usually up around 12k on the high side. A bottom barrel low end wok burner is about 20k btu. Your normal ones are about 80-110k BTUs.

If you are talking a torch... Do not go butane. Go propane. Butane is for Creme Brulee, that's it.

Have you considered a single INDUCTION burner? More power and if you do hot pot, no heat from the side when you're cooking.

Just get the standard Korean butane burner that is marketed under different brand names around the world and used by millions of people. Or get the newer more upscale version, with higher BTU, again marketed under different brand names around the world.

Basically one of these two is what all of Asia uses.

BTW - this is advice for the Iwatani 35fw.
