Valence Fusion is the merging of two similar Kuva Lich Weapons, Tenet Weapons, or Railjack Components and Armaments into one with superior stats.
Kuva Lich/Tenet Weapons[]
Valence Fusion combines two of the same Kuva or Tenet weapons into one with a higher Elemental Bonus, multiplying the highest bonus of the two weapons by 1.1, capping at 60% bonus. Valence Fusion can be found under the Actions button while modding a weapon. After selecting Valence Fusion, a player is required to choose another of the same Kuva/Tenet weapon from the inventory (not in Foundry or with the Kuva Lich / Sister of Parvos) to fuse it with. If the weapon's element bonuses differs, the player will be prompted to choose between the two available elements.
The final value of the Elemental Bonus after a Valence Fusion is performed is given by the formula:
And if the Final Bonus is equal or greater than 58%, the value gets rounded up to 60%.
Any other properties (Orokin Catalyst, Forma, Stance Forma, Exilus Weapon Adapter, or Focus Lens) do not transfer over, meaning the order of fusion is important. Put simply, it is best to equip the weapon with the most resource investment (weapon rank, Catalyst, Forma, and Exilus that you wanted to keep) and fuse other weapons to it.
After selecting the donor weapon to be used in the fusion, a confirmation screen displays the desired weapon's new damage type and bonus values and warns that the transfer will consume the selected donor weapon. Players are then prompted to type FUSE to confirm the fusion.
- Example:
Kuva Kohm (A) has 40%
Heat Damage and an Orokin Catalyst. Kuva Kohm (B) has 52%
Radiation damage. The player has two options, to fuse (A) with (B) or to fuse (B) with (A).
- Since 52% is higher than 40%, the result will always be according to the percentage of (B) and multiplied by 1.1, resulting in 57.2%.
- Fusing (B) to (A): Equip (A), under Valence Fusion, select (B). The result of this will be a Kuva Kohm with 57.2%
Heat or
Radiation damage with an Orokin Catalyst. (B) will be destroyed. - Fusing (A) to (B): Equip (B), under Valence Fusion, select (A). The result of this will be a Kuva Kohm with 57.2%
Heat or
Radiation damage without an Orokin Catalyst. (A) will be destroyed.
Railjack Wreckage[]
Valence Fusion combines two of the same Railjack Components and Armaments (in respect to the House and Type) into one with superior bonus stats. This applies to Turrets, Shield Arrays, Engines, Platings, and Reactors, but does not apply to Ordnance or other Sigma Items. This can be managed in the Dry Dock. Stat increases are capped between 40% and 60% for weapons and miscellaneous values for components.
To perform Valence Fusion, players must click on the component or armament desired to be upgraded, and then the part to be used as the donor. Only the object to be upgraded must be constructed, while the donor item can either be repaired or unrepaired. If the component has a different MKIII unique trait, the player is prompted to select one.
If the player does not have enough resources, a failure message will notify the player which resources they are missing. If the item to be upgraded is already maximized, a failure message will notify the player that the item can no longer be enhanced further.
Once the components/armaments with stats below maximum have been selected and the player has enough resources, a confirmation screen displays the desired component's new bonus values and warns that the transfer will consume the selected donor component along with the required resources. Players are then prompted to type FUSE to confirm the fusion.
Costs[]
Fusing with repaired parts will require some Endo:
- MK I: 800 Endo
- MK II: 1600 Endo
- MK III: 2400 Endo
Fusing with unrepaired parts instead of Endo costs 40% of the resources and
Credits that would be used to repair it (Any decimals are rounded up to the nearest whole number. Ex: 3.2 = 4).
Upgrading[]
Upgrades count towards the stat bonus on MKIII turrets and the random stats on other Railjack gear.
- Fusing gear that is the same tier level (e.g. MKIII with MKIII) will yield an increase of stats by 10%.
- Example: Fusing together Vidar Photor MKIII with +40% bonus damage with another Vidar Photor MK III with +35% bonus damage, results in one Vidar Photor MKIII with +44% bonus damage.
- Fusing gear that has a lower tier level (e.g. MKII with MKIII or MKII with MKI) will yield an increase of stats by 5%.
- Fusing gear that has a lower tier level by two (i.e. MKI with MKIII) will yield an increase of stats by 2%.
- Fusing gear that has a higher tier level (e.g. MKIII with MKII) is equivalent to the same fusion the other way around (Results in MKIII Gear).
Extra Math[]
For Weapons and same-tier Armaments, maximum % bonus (60%) can be achieved in the following number of fusions:
| Minimum Initial Value | Maximum Number of Fusions |
|---|---|
| 58.0% | 0 (automatically rounded up to 60.0%) |
| 52.8% | 1 |
| 48.0% | 2 |
| 43.6% | 3 |
| 39.7% | 4 |
| 36.1% | 5 |
| 32.8% | 6 |
| 29.8% | 7 |
| 27.1% | 8 |
| 25.0% | 9 |
For example, a
Tenet Envoy with a 42% Toxin bonus will need at most 4 Fusions to reach the maximum element bonus of 60%.
Trivia[]
- Prior to Update 27.1 (2020-02-04), the system was originally titled Valence Transfer which would simply replace a Kuva weapon's elemental type and bonus.
Patch History[]
Update 36.0 (2024-06-18)
- Fixed Valence Bonus stat sometimes rounding up decimals when viewed in the Arsenal or when purchasing from Ergo Glast.
- Kuva and Tenet weapons with 58% Elemental Bonus or above will now automatically round that value up to 60%.
- Players who have existing Tenet and Kuva weapons (including those pending in the Foundry) with 58%+ Valence Bonus will have this value rounded up to 60% upon logging in after downloading the update.
Update 30.7 (2021-09-08)
- Fixed issue where fusing two partially ranked Kuva or Tenet weapons together appeared to increase the rank of your weapon.
- This was a UI / display only, as the Valence fusion does not increase a weapon rank. Now, the weapon rank does not increase from fusion and the UI does not incorrectly show that it has.
- Fixed a crash when attempting to Valence Fusion a Talyn Armament.
Update 30.5 (2021-07-06)
- Kuva Lich (And Sister of Parvos) Valence Fusion QOL
We have made Valence Fusion for Weapons more intuitive in this Update! We are inheriting the behaviour we added for Railjack which was much more clear to our players!
- Prior to this Update, when you used Valence Fusion to combine two Kuva Lich weapons together in the Arsenal, the order of the weapons picked would determine which element the final bonus damage would be.
- In this update, when you combine two Kuva Lich weapons (or Sister Tenet weapons) together, you will have the option of which element you want to keep. The numerical stat of the element still combines using the same logic as previously.
- This is intended to reduce confusion about the end result you will get, and to make it easier to keep a desired element. Now you don’t need to fuse twice to restore your initial element type if you are combining weapons with different elements.
Update 28.3 (2020-08-12)
- Fixed Valence Fusion failing between Tier 2 Armaments with a "perfect" stat roll and a Tier 3 Armament with a lesser stat roll.
Update 28.1 (2020-07-08)
- Fixed viewing Railjack Components/Armaments and switching tabs after making a selection not properly deselecting the selected item, resulting in the Valence Fusion and Scrap buttons disappearing.
Update 28.0 (2020-06-11)
- Fixed Wreckage Capacity not immediately being updated until after exiting and then coming back after using Valence Fusion with Wreckage as one of the components.
Hotfix 27.4.4 (2020-05-07)
- Changed the Valence Fusion popup if you have no compatible Fusion items but you do have Wreckage partially funded, this popup will indicate that you cannot use partially funded Wreckage for Valence Fusion (you can of course get refunded for cancelling the repair and then Valence Fusion will work).
Hotfix 27.4.1 (2020-05-01)
- Changed confirmation text when Valence Fusing Railjack components to be clearer.
- It now reads ‘Choose a stat’ instead of ‘Choose which stat to fuse’.
- Fixed a script error when using Valence Fusion in the Railjack Configure panel.
Update 27.4 (2020-05-01)
- Railjack Revisited (Part 1)
Systemic Changes:
- The Kuva Lich ‘Valence Fusion’ has been added for
builtArmaments and Components. Introducing RAILJACK VALENCE FUSION - players can now fuse duplicate built or unbuilt stats to their favorite built parts, boosting them. Based on Public Test Cluster feedback, this no longer requires built Armaments and Components to Valence Fuse: Wreckage can be used, with a resource cost (Max 40%!). Built Armaments and Components can also be used and consumed, with a Dirac cost.- Requires Dirac to perform if VALENCE FUSION occurs for built Armaments and Components.
- Requires Resources and Credits if VALENCE FUSION occurs for Wreckage of Armaments and Components.
- Combining matching tiers gives 10% boost in stats
- Combining lower tiers gives 5% boost in stats.
- Two tiers removed (MK3 with MK1) is 2% boost
- You can only VALENCE FUSE the same House and type of Armaments and Components across all MKs - much like Kuva Lich Weapons. Also Sigma equipment (your starting equipment or purchased from the Dojo) cannot be upgraded in this way.
Update 27.2 (2020-03-05)
- Added fancy new FX when Valence Fusion has been successfully completed!
Update 27.1 (2020-02-04)
- 3. Valence FUSION
First introduced in Hotfix 26.0.6 (2019-11-07), Valence Transfer, now re titled Valence Fusion for clarity, was designed to address owning duplicate Kuva weapons with different unique innate damage bonuses. Giving you the ability to replace a Kuva weapons innate damage bonus (plus investments like Forma, Focus Lens etc) with one from another Kuva weapon was a good start, but we can push this even further!
- Valence Fusion now also boosts your Kuva weapons innate damage bonus. Examples:
- Your Kuva Kohm with 25% damage can be fed into your 40% weapon, to make it 44%
- Your Kuva Kohm with 40% damage can be fed into your 25% weapon, to make it 44%
- Your Kuva Kohm with 25% damage can be fed into your 44% weapon, to make it 48.4%
Your Kuva weapon duplicates now offer a gradual progression towards a “perfect” Kuva weapon, which would reflect a 60% damage value, if you choose to pursue this path.
We’re also looking at other places we could potentially use this mechanic (Railjack, etc)!
As you can see, we’ve cracked a few eggs to make this omelette! We look forward to your feedback on these Kuva Lich changes!
*PS: It matters which order you Valence Fuse them in. The weapon that you START from, the one where you click "Actions", is the one that will be kept with its investments.
Hotfix 26.0.6 (2019-11-07)
- Introduced as "Valence Transfer".

Adjusted the math for valence fusions needed to reach 60%, because 58% gets rounded up to 60% now.
But now I don't know if DE forgot about Railjack armaments. Patchnotes only say "Tenet and Kuva weapons" ...
I hope this rule applies to railjack armaments and components, but in the case they don't, thank god getting railjack stuff is much easier than doing liches/sisters
Just when you thought this system couldn't get any worse, you have to do it 5-10 times for each weapon, and any forma you use beforehand is wasted...
if we ever do get kuva liches, it better come with a rework of this awful system.
If you have a kuva weapon, apply 5 forma to it and then you fuse another kuva weapon to it, formas are not wasted
Did you read the page at all?
Wait, but we already have Kuva Liches, did you mean Infested Liches?
But i agree, it needs some improving, there must be a way to increase your bonus without having to hunt for a Sister/Lich again, this is worse the higher the bonus is, imagine getting a 57% weapon and knowing you have to do this all over again just for a 3% increase when you could be going for a new weapon you don't have yet.
Maybe they could make a system that use Kuva\Holokeys to increase the bonus, but only an extra 5% max, or maybe every time your Lich level up, the bonus get's increased by 1%, to a max increase of 5% as well? (would make sense, your nemesis got stronger, so his weapon got stronger as well xD).
If you get a 25% weapon it wouldn't help much, but in those cases were you get 50% or more, it would be a massive boon, i wouldn't mind even if DE increased Lich/Sister strength even more to compensate.
I know, i know, 60% is not "absolutely necessary", but you all know how we gamers are with numbers lol.
If its formed/catalysed it's element and name will never change.
At least a higher valence bonus for this would be nice instead of literally throwing them away.
There needs to be some more testing done by people who have the stomach to actually grind these things. I've recently started working on my weapons, starting with Tenet Arca Plasmor.
I had a 54.4% and another one that was lower (still above 50% though), but when I fused them I got a 60% result. Not "oh, it just displays 60% because UI rounding but is actually slightly lower", it was actually 60%. The result should've been 59.84% (or 59.8% if rounded to nearest tenth), for reference.
I tested this by putting Primed Point Blank, Blaze, and Vicious Spread on the thing, to fully stretch out the base damage values as much as possible. If it was a case of UI rounding, but actual value slightly under 60%, this would've become instantly apparent under this test.
In other words, Valence Fusion is providing higher than a 10% bonus (the 1.1 modifier). It'd be nice if the aforementioned grinding chads could shed some light on the current realities of this system.
Pretty sure it rounds the valence fusionto nearest whole number?
It absolutely does not.
Have 5 Kuva Hek in the foundry now (beside 2 Kuva Grattler, miss only these two Kuva weapons). All of them are low end. I'm impressed by my luck and I've killed more than 160 Liches so I have seen a lot of Liches in the past... ^^
The minimum should be 30% not 25%, also if you get a decimal it should round up to the next whole number
Having to run liches again just to get 0.1% increase from a 59.9% (yes this just happened to me with a Kuva Zarr hence why I'm writing this) is PAINFUL PAINFUL PAINFUL
Bad RNG be damned back to the nether realms where it belongs
Is 59.9 any functionally different from 60.0?
You deserved it
You think DE will like your 25% to 30% base increase (with a net decrease of grind)... Think again!
Not sure if this has been commonly known. One trick I find useful to maximize the value out of fusing multiple weapons is actually holding off the urge to fusing every new weapon you get immediately, but rather leave them in the foundry. After you have obtained multiple copies, fuse them in the descending order.
Let me explain. Suppose your first Kuva Nukor is 25%. You went to farm 3 other Kuva Nukors. First drop is 28%. You fuse it immediately and get a 31%. The second drop is 30%. You fuse it and get a 34%. The third one is also 34%. You fuse it and eventually get a 37% Kuva Nukor.
Instead, if you leave the first two in foundry, and start fusing after you get the third one, and fuse the third one first, your 25% Kuva Nukor will become 37%. Then fusing the other two weapons will result a 45% Kuva Nukor.
Usually I would say that you're right. But... I had nearly 100 Kuva weapons in the foundry (just in case if I would find one with better stats), lost oversight then stopped playing for a long time, came back to find out that I had no plan what to do with all the weapons, cleaned the foundry out of them and now realized that I still need a bunch of them to max my existing Kuva weapons. So I decided to change my grind and to concentrate on one or two weapons until they are maxed and then to continue on the next one(s).
Actually the OP was right, the math to calculate the combined weapon output is 1.1 multiply the host weapon damage. If you start out with the highest damage weapon, you will get to 60% faster.
So, if I wanted the highest performance for my Kuva weapon, I have to.....kill more Liches? Crap. I mean, I can do it, but....it takes so damn long to kill these bastards.
Welcome to the pit of pain... DE.
Omg... I didn't know that the 'upgrade' was literally just fusing the same weapon... I've always thought that it's farming a new one and just build that new weapon from zero. lmao
For the context: Kuva Lich and Sisters of Parvos were the only contents I wasn't very fond of, so I barely know about it(Didn't really pique my interest at first).
Just wanna say you are not the only one person do this T.T
Me 3. I have been delaying the Kuva weapon farming until now... My accidental Lich that I created long ago had accumulated 3.7 million credits.
It would be nice if the minimum bonus is 30% instead of 25%.
Honestly it should be 45%. God forbid you want 2 or 3 versions with different progenitor elements, because you'll have to kill 20+ liches.
Welcome to Shitty Grinds, The Gam- I mean, WARFRAME!
Can u fuse weapons multiple times or only once
I'm pretty sure you can but the element % caps at 60%
So there is no point unless you want to change the innate element
Well i forgot you can fuse railjack components and scrapped like 50 i could have used -_- gotta run some void storms
Can I fuse a kuva weapon if it's already at 60%? I just want to change it's element
Yes
Can people check this over? There's a lot of conflicting information online about the %.
The experience I have from valencing RJ items does not correspond either, as depending on the items I fed the values were different when the main gear was already the higher, which means it's not a static 10% increase regardless of sacrificed equipment.
The calculations might have changed so we need to make sure the info above is accurate atm.
On a side note can we keep track on the updates on main page please?
It's a lot harder to have updated information on the main page when the details on page is "Mechanics" "Update 26" and no other update information.
For instance before we could not choose the element, but now we can.
The "Mechanics" and "Update 26" are categories for organizing wiki pages. This mechanic was first introduced in U26 which is why it has that category. That has nothing to do with how up-to-date the page is. What do you mean by "On a side note can we keep track on the updates on main page please"?
Wait what, there’s now a choice of which element to carry over?
Yep there is, making it easier to switch elements
Before there was no option, now on the confirmation screen there's a screen where it shows you an option (either A to B or B to A). Kinda nice
Im wanting to get 2 kuva nukors with both heat and then valence fuse them together to get a higher bonus, will that work or do they have to be different elements?
I upgrades the element of the Kuva Nukor you decide to keep, regardless of the element fed.
For example, you have a 40% Heat Kuva Nukor and a 60% magnetic Kuva Nukor, and you feed the magnetic Kuva Nukor to the Heat Kuva Nukor. The Heat Kuva Nukor will be upgraded to 60% heat.
Fusing heat and radiation or heat and heat doesn't matter, just be sure that you don't accendently sacrifice the wrong nukor (in case one of them has already been forma'd or a catalyst installed)
The donar weapon element always overwrites the host weapon.
And now you have an option to choose which element to keep. Just becareful not to fuse a forma weapon into a non-forma weapon.
Heat or Radiation Damage?? does it mean it's random or you get to chose which element one to keep?
Under the old system, it would have been the 2nd one's element. However, they changed it this patch, so you get to choose which element to keep now.
I have a Kuva Ogris with catalyst and another new one. I want to fuse and keep the catalyst. Is this possible? As I read the wiki says is not but the comments say it is.
Is this quote correct? “Fusing (B) to (A): Equip (A), under Valence Fusion, select (B). The result of this will be a Kuva Kohm with 57% Radiation Damage and an Orokin Catalyst. (B) will be destroyed.”
Oh sorry, my bad eyes… I read again and all clear now. It should keep the catalyst
Not getting it - I fused 2 of the Zetki Reactors MK3 to a better one. Is fusion only once available? As I got another Zetki Reactor MK3 and wanted to fuse it with my previous fused one, not getting it...
Same here.
I believe you can only fuse 2 of the same components for RailJack.
i wasted over 16hrs of gameplay and had 2 Kuva bramma. The first was Toxin 21% Status and the second was Toxin 54% Status. i equip the first and Valence Fuse second the resault was a 21% Status bramma. it should have became arround 58% ty so much for this amazing bug
Lmaoooooo this mans just got exposed so hard
I think He is confusing status with bonus damage ?.. what gets upgraded is the bonus damage, not the status
Kuva weapons don't have bonus damage.
They get bonus status element (to what ever progenitor element) you chose which is pretty much a bonus damage higher the % of the element you chose higher damage you do
