The Broken Scepter is the signature staff of the Grineer Elder Queen. It has a special ability that allows the player to 'drain' deceased enemies to gain health or energy orbs.

Impact damage. - When wielded, the user can interact with enemy corpses (default X ) to Drain Enemy, spawning Health Orbs from organic enemies or Energy Orbs from robotic enemies.

A built Broken Scepter is given on completion of The War Within, complete with a free weapon slot and a pre-installed Orokin Catalyst. A second Broken Scepter will not be given on a replay.
Additional blueprints can be bought from Cephalon Simaris for

- When standing over an enemy corpse while wielding the Broken Scepter, the player gains the ability to drain the corpse by activating the Drain Enemy prompt on them by holding down on the Use Key (default X ). This will deconstruct the corpse in a manner similar to Capture targets, after which the corpse will release an orb. Organic enemies (such as Lancers) will release Health Orbs, while robotic enemies (such as MOAs) will release Energy Orbs instead. As the draining procedure consumes the corpse, this can only be done once per corpse.

- The Broken Scepter has two small orbs that orbit around it, which act as an indicator of how many times the player can use the Scepter's draining ability consecutively. One orb is consumed when performing a drain, and if both orbs are consumed the player will be unable to drain enemy corpses until the orbs regenerate.
- The orbs' trails remain visible even if the "Visible When Holstered" option is toggled off.
Trivia[]
- During The War Within quest, Teshin reveals that the Scepter is an Orokin artifact that was utilized to command the sworn allegiance of the Orokin's Dax soldiers.
- It is unclear whether the Broken Scepter still allows the player to command the Dax or if it requires the Kuva to be attached.
- The Elder Queen can fire a beam from the scepter. This ability cannot be replicated by the player, which may imply that the beam comes from the Kuva and not the staff itself.
Bugs[]
- Sometimes the scepter will refuse to show the prompts on enemies. If this occurs, switching weapons then back to the scepter again can fix the issue.

Okay, hear me out...
I got an idea!
KEEP the corpse-loot function. That's what makes this unique.
Remove the absorb animation, replacing it with a particle showing that it's absorbing. Mainly to avoid breaking a player's flow.
Change the orbs given to give a random weak buff. "+5% Fire Rate", "+50 Health", etc, etc.
Make it so EXIMUS Enemies give a guaranteed buff relating to the Eximus in question. "+50% Toxin Damage" when absorbing a Toxin Eximus, "+10% Lifesteal" when absorbing a Sanguine Eximus, etc, etc.
Boss Enemies (if there is a corpse to absorb) will give a unique buff. Mostly to reward a player's curiosity!
Keeps the idea of the Queens, keeps the Corpse-Absorb function, doesn't make it TOO Broken while still being something a player can bring along.
Started using this recently in tandem with Arcane Blessing. Amazing synergy to build up the 1200HP in a somewhat quick amount of time.

Are the orbs created by this able to be transformed into universal orbs by Lavos's transmutation probe?
Of course! They're just standard Health/Energy Orbs, nothing special except how they're made.
This thing is great for Ivara if you have an Equilibrium and Synth Fiber (on a Kavat). Not to mention that it does hit pretty hard, however not steel path hard.
The bonk scepter
The Broken Scepter is my favorite weapon as I've been using it for years back on PS4 and now on Xbox. Although health/energy drain can be useful, it's not why I love this weapon. I just love the way it looks as it hits fast and hard with its beautiful animation. And not only that, it comes from my favorite story quest. Simply best weapon in Warframe universe.
I am leveling Wukong and just got this scepter. I have yet to see a single time where it prompted me to use the second ability.
this is the only way to make the grendel missions managable solo. you just don't have enough energy without this thing.

Throwing my 2 cents in there as a new player but this weapon with life stike, nekros and despoil would go amazing together especially with say toxin/gas or corrosive(grineer) due to its impact for shields i feel youd want something for the health aspect of the enemy as well but thats my take on it
With nekros you want slash weapon. as slash can cut enemies in halve making despoil proc twice or more
As I lack an Energy Siphon, my entire plan to complete a level 30 Extermination run without alarms hinges on using this to get energy for my Prowl.
So, of course, it immediately decides to stop absorbing enemies for health nor energy. Lovely.
My advice, try and get Octavia she basically comes with energy siphon built in, or try and get a high enough level exterminate to happen on earth, there are no alarms on the earth forest tileset.
Another option is to just bring energy pizzas and max out Flow on Ivara, give yourself some decent range and duration and you can basically ignore energy siphon.

It doesn't have provide a prompt for energy in Sanctuary Onslaught... it's either because it needs to be fully ranked, it's bugged, or it doesn't work in SO/ESO. I'm using SO to forma it for a special ability it doesn't seem to provide!

Why do enemy float in the air when I slide attack with this weapon? Other melee weapons doesn't do this (that I've used which isn't many because I'm still kind of new). No mention of it in the wiki or anywhere else.
I think it is the stance you are using which all changed with melee 3.0
don't bother draining with it, animation way to slow and the health backs are small, you'll get downed in higher lv missions by surrounding enemies
Agreed. As an Equinox main, it becomes really tedious to use finishers, as half the time I accidentally drain and then get swarmed by about 50 enemies walking in or waking up.
I have a riven for this with +83.1% toxin damage +83.7% critical chance on slide attack +47.1% attack speed

Since my Amphis can make it to end game level and becoming my new favourite with +CD +Toxin +SlideCrit, yours can go much further.
Theres a bug where the broken scepters energy balls will no load at the start of the mission which prevents the drain passive from working the entire mission.
I have no idea why i sold this weapon before i hit rank 30 with it. I hope DE adds a way to get it again like with what they did for the orvius

Also, with Synth Fiber on your sentinel, you can pick up health orbs while still at full health, meaning Health Conversion is much more practical now!
