Good warframes for Grendel missions

Does anyone have any Warframes they'd recommend for the missions that give Grendel parts? You aren't able to use mods and it's really messing me up.

I've been trying to solo them, and I think the only feasible frame for that is Hildryn.
The survival wasn't actually that hard - just spam 2 and you'll stay alive by stripping shields, while your 3, plus a decent melee does reasonable damage (plus used a Synoid Gammacor to deal with nullis). Finished with 3 life pods still available, and ultimately it wasn't much harder than arbi survival or something.
The excavation you can cheese with absolutely no risk with Limbo, but it'd be incredibly tedious (just activate the excavators and get the cryotic from the first 20 seconds - the problem is that takes 40 excavators). Hildryn works here too (and is what I used), but while she can kill things, she can't really keep the excavators alive, so it's not that much better, especially as levels increase.
The defence is the one I'm having trouble with. Pretty sure it's doable - made 3 attempts, and got down to the last wave on two of them. But the Comba that spawns that wave (often close to a nullifier too) is really tough to deal with, which, combined with things being hard to kill and the lifepod being low on health by then mean I can't save it.
For groups, things seem far easier. Trinity is a must to solve the energy problems, and then you just need DPS (eg. Saryn), defense (eg. a frost or Limbo) for excavators/the pod, and maybe some utility/buffing/CC frames like Wisp to help out the team's survivability. Hildryn is probably good too, given how she does solo, but she's more a jack of all trades in that situation - specialists for each role is likely better (though a 4 Hildryn team might be more fun than energybotting and standing around while the DPS frames kill stuff).

We did all 3 Missions with Octavia, who did most of the kills, Frost for Protection, Trinity for Energy and an rhino who was the only one alive after a grenade hit us. Happened a few times in Survival. Remember you have no revives in the mission.

I'd say a frame for defense and a frame for heal. Trinity for energy. The rest doesn't matter much
