Farming Tips[]
- Thrax enemies are abundant in Mobile Defense and Void Cascade missions.
- The Zariman Arcane drop is considered as a mod drop, and is thus affected by The Steel Path and Mod Drop Chance Booster.
Notes[]
- The bonus to critical chance only applies to the secondary weapon, not to other weapons and Warframe abilities.
- Bonus does not apply on Exalted weapons
Tips[]
Shield Charger can be used to gain overshields.- The Augur Mods set bonus can consistently generate Overshields for many Warframes as long as they use energy and have shields.
- Warframes with abilities that generate Overshields can efficiently make use of this Arcane, such as
Harrow's
Condemn,
Hildryn's
Pillage, and
Protea's long-press
Grenade Fan. Condemn and Pillage can also be used by any Warframe via the Helminth. - Warframes with abilities that can prevent their shields from taking damage, such as
Revenant and
Rhino, can keep this Arcane's benefits active potentially indefinitely. Revenant in particular, while
Mesmer Skin is active, has functional invincibility to enemy damage and
Magnetic status effects and can sometimes generate shields for himself with
Reave, but can still take damage from environmental hazards. - Certain Warframe Augment Mods can be used to generate overshields or Overguard to protect any overshields you may have, such as
Volt's
Capacitance,
Trinity's
Vampire Leech, or
Frost's
Icy Avalanche.

Works really well on lato vandal (deathtrap trigger) with Nyx. You’ll be invincible with overshields, and have a flat 300% everytime you swap from primary.
After more than 2 years since the "feature" was fixed, i'm using it again, in one very niche case
When i don't have a good acolyte killng primary weapon, can't use ceramic dagger to stack outburst, can't deal heat procs to stack flare, and can't use a good acolyte killing melee.
So slapping this goofy thing on a crit sporelacer for Torid + Ripkas nekros, and that's about it.
Flare would stack from companion that deal heat
Cascadia overcharge on Zymos is awesomesauce;
Zymos has a hidden trait whereby it squares all critical chance as opposed to additive. When using critical delay and cascadia overcharge on it you can produce consistent red criticals. Harrow is wonky with it BC headshots don't trigger sometimes but things like red shards are wondrous.
This combination is devastating in even endgame content, tho it recommended to also use the impact to slash conversion mod, toxin is weirdly good too.
This critical combination especially with cascadia can produce triple exclamation reds which is 600% total base critical chance iirc. This will cause the seeker projectiles to straight up murder literally everything they so much as brush up against.
Currently only working as host. Perhaps someone could add as a known bug. Pretty neat for solo but too risky for a hard build in pubs
Titania can benefit from this ?
As i know they still not fix it on exalted wepons so not working.
It doesn't seem to work w her, but that might also be because dex pixia has terrible crit stats. Tryed testing it twice for about an hour w different over shield sources
For those who came here to find out how good this arcane is, let me give you some simplified math calculations. It’s worth saying that you should use this arcane only if, with it and the crit chance mod, your crit rises by one tier. (Crit will go from yellow to orange.) I would say it's worth using it starting at 24% crit chance.
So let's write the base damage as X. Then each status with a galvanized shot gives you 1.2X, that is, with 3 statuses (which most weapons have) your damage will be X+3*1.2X=4.6X.
Each acolyte arcane gives 360% damage at maximum stack, that is 3.6X. That is, galvanized shot+acolyte arcane is X+3.6X+3.6X=8.2X. Let's say your crit damage is 2.2. Then your damage with primed target cracker, galv shot and acolyte arc will be 8.2X*(2.0*2.1)=34.44X. Now, if we replace acolyte arc with cascadia overcharge, which will increase the crit tier, then the damage will be 4.6X*(1+2*(4.2-1))=34.04. That is, cascadia overcharge deals only 1.2% less damage with an average crit multiplier, and since the crit tier multi is highly dependent on the base crit multiplier, it will deal even slightly more damage with a good crit weapon. Yes, the calculations are simplified here. For example, it is assumed that you will always deal 2nd tier crit, which is not possible on all weapons. Or the galvanized crosshairs mod is ignored. But the point of this whole wall of text is that this arcane has conditions for use and you shouldn't discount it just because it's +damage. (By the way, you can make a build where there are no mods for crit chance, but there is this arcane, which can give even more damage than acolyte arc) TL;DR If you have base damage mods/buffs that give more or the same amount as acolyte arc - cascadia overcharge is a good choice.
It's strongly weapon dependent, I would argue that it's only worthwhile in tree cases, when you're not frequently using your secondary (and so don't have the Acolyte Arcanes stacked) or if it lets you jump up a crit tier on a weapon where you can then sacrifice the critical chance mod for a damage mod and maintain the crit tier, or when you're playing Dagath and can thus buff your critical damage to take that increased crit chance as far as it can go.
Comparing one of the best secondaries for raw crit chance, the Tenet Plinx; a highly optimized build saw a 74% increase in damage when using the Acolyte Arcanes, compared to Cascadia Overcharge, when using your generic "dip into everything" builds. Playing with the mods, I could get that gap as low as ~60% by focusing on critical damage.
It's just hard to top a +360% damage bonus that then goes through every other multiplier.
Adding to the prior reply, When using Dagath, the comparison was more favorable, as the numbers were comparable between the SP arcanes and Overcharge, as Dagath lets you sacrifice a critical damage mod for a raw damage mod and still have an excessive critical multiplier.
Honestly just test it. I'd asume its typically worse except on janky builds
Guys why is mine only working on solo mode and not in public matchmaking?
Still broken. You have to be host or else it doesn't work
1) get this arcane and put it on a high crit multiplier secondary
2) use augur mods to get overshields
3) use frames that give you overguard to protect your shields
4) porfit
Gorfit
Yeah wasn't it nukor with a super high cd. I wanna try it on akbolto too just to see how high the cc can go.
Oh also subsume pillage for basically free overshield on anyone
Stupid thing is, on some frames like Rhino you'll easily lose the overguard and oftentimes the overshields as well, when facing stronger enemies or bosses. So exactly when you really want to have that extra damage, you dont have it.
Notes says it doesnt effect other weapons but it does. or am i specially bugged? its been giving me crit chance on melee and primary since its release.
People seems to be arguing about if this is good or not in general, my question would be on which weapons is this better than other arcanes?
None
Here are some use cases where this is great:
You are using Harrow, Hildryn, Revenant, Gauss, Protea, Caliban or maybe some other frames I am forgetting that can maintain overshields most of the time and you mainly use your primary weapon for clearing but you have a high base crit chance secondary for tough single targets (Tenet Plinx for example). When you swap to your secondary, you have this bonus immediately and don't have to build up stacks like most of the other secondary arcanes.
Similar case to the previous one, but you are using something like Cedo for status priming and Galvanized Shot to scale base damage on your secondary. Since all the other arcanes would be additive with Galvanized Shot (and Hornet Strike for that matter), this one will be better.
You are fighting something like an Archon that has the obtuse damage mitigation system which scales off base damage *but does not scale off crit damage*. Here you would want something like a Kuva Brakk or Tenet Detron which has high multishot since that also is not factored into their damage mitigation. Look up Kengineer's video on one-shotting an Archon for more info about this system.
There are probably quite a few other cases, this is a complicated game.
If you build Augur mods you can overshield every single warframe just by using its abbilities (one Augur mod is for secondary and its enough if you dont want Augur mods in your frame build) So for me with Yareli passive 100% Red crits nukes funny arcane ;) ;)
How does this work on Yareli?
Well, if you could keep a overshield on her.
But unfortunatelly, DE gives no shit about her and she is broken as f*ck. I love to play her, but it's impossible to play her because of all the bugs DE left on her 2...
It's extremely good on yareli. You basically have zero downside since merulina absorbs nearly all damage and its effortless to maintain the overshield. Since you are already planning on using a high crit chance secondary, it goes perfectly with it.
Ignore @ladyvan
300% crit chance to your secondary weapon is not bad whatsoever.
Especially with weapons like Kuva Nukor with insane crit multipliers.
Its kinda bad if you could instead use an Arcane that gives you 360% or 480% damage.
Even on Kuva Nukor, 300% crit chance is still not as strong as Cascadia Flare.
And then all those additive crit chance things completely invalidate this Arcane when they happen.
Ladyvan you should stop speaking. You clearly dont understand Kuva Nukor can have over 20x crit multiplier with mods and this mod makes it BUSTED. Also 480% damage is nothing when you can get that from mods easy
You can't even hit over 20x if you use every single critical damage mod + critical damage riven. And even if you were to do that you'd lose a shit ton of damage you wouldve gotten from other mods.
Is this additive flat crit chance, or multiplicative chance?
It's additive with mods and works off the base crit chance of your equipped secondary, as far as I can tell. Might be useful on some builds but for something like the Knell Prime, you're still better off sticking with Secondary Deadhead.
Don't know what you are talking about dan its very strong on knell prime with mine i get guaranteed red crits with only a level 7 prime pistol gambit and a level 8 galvnized crosshair
(i don't care that the comment is a month old)
2 mods and 1 arcane is too much dedicated to crit chance. I can guarantee that you could have a stronger build if you were to use different mods/arcanes.
With the 31.5.6 hotfix, this became another new useless arcane.
boohoo my nearly free absurd crit chance boost only applies to one weapon now
Just 300% cc for your secondary (if you really need cc, just use the far more powerful Avenger) is not enough to make this an actual choice. In its current state it's heavily outclassed by SP Arcanes 99,99% of the time.
Does this arcane work on Mesa's secondary? if it should , i don't see the buff..
Damn, guess my arcane avenger, and velocity don't work on regulators. But wait, they do. So does arcane fury for whipclaw, and arcane prec on dex pixia. Why doesn't cascadia overcharge work on secondary exalted?
But those are all warframe arcanes, not secondary arcanes lol
Man... The guy saying the nonsense about avenger and velocity working even though they're warframe arcanes not weapon arcanes is a real twit. If you're going to come onto the internet spouting snarky nonsense at least do your research so you don't look like a total tool when you say something asinine.
The 5/9/22 user is 100% right. Warframe arcanes are not secondary arcanes... Warframe arcanes can affect exalted weapons/abilities. Weapon arcanes affect only the weapon they're slotted into. Exalted weapons have no arcane slot so they don't reap the benefits of primary/secondary arcanes.
My question was after the day of the arcane released so it was a bug to see red crits with any frames and some players reply after they fix it . tnks for your late replys .
Understanding that it was unintentional for the crit chance to apply to all weapons, it was definitely fun for the 8 days it lasted.
This is going to become so broken for Hildryn. Basically constant +300% critical chance, since Hildryn is pretty much always having Overshield.
Man, it's a secondary arcane... Use the Knell anyway.
Oh... yea... I was getting excited for it because I thought it was a Warframe Arcane.
Secondary is kinda meh. Very good, but much less exciting.
Just Grab Taxon if you really need it.
Psss.. hear me out lads , Hildryn's Pillage
