xConflicting information on explosion radius. More research needed on ability/mod interactions since it seems like Exodia Contagion is implemented uniquely.
Exodia Contagion is an Arcane Enhancement for Zaws that unleashes a projectile of Infested energy upon performing an aerial melee attack while aim gliding after a bullet jump or double jump. Increasing the Enhancement's Rank gives the projectile additional damage if it travels 30 meters before it contacts an enemy or a surface.

Mechanics[]
- Upon performing a mid-air attack while Aim Gliding after Bullet Jumping or Double Jumping, an Infested projectile is launched. After traveling 30 meters, the damage of the projectile is increased by 0% / 100% / 200% / 300% plus (combo level - 1) / 4
- The increased damage is indicated by a small burst of energy at that point.
- The projectile is not limited by range. However, it is affected by Gravity.
- Base projectile damage, critical chance, critical damage, and status chance depends on the zaw's stats and equipped mods.
- Weapon Stance affects the Explosion Damage Scaling of the thrown Zaw.
- Has multiple damage instances; projectile direct-hit, explosion, and direct-hit DoT.
- Projectile direct-hit does 2x the zaw's damage, with a damage distribution of 33%

- Direct hits on enemies makes the projectile stick to them, dealing damage and inflicting a forced
Impact proc each second for 4 seconds, after which it explodes on the 5th second.
- If an enemy is instantly killed by the direct-hit instance of damage before the explosion, the projectile will continue traveling, as if going though air, and will only explode after hitting the level geometry or an enemy which survives the direct-hit. This is more noticeable when scoring headshots.

- If a skin is equipped, it will take on the appearance of the full weapon (minus the sheath for Nikanas).
- Installing this arcane (or Exodia Epidemic) on a Zaw will give the Zaw's Links an infested visual appearance.
- Unlike other Exodia Arcanes, Exodia Contagion depicts a symbol, instead of inscription.

Bugs[]
Condition Overload is multiplicative to base damage (e.g.
Pressure Point) on direct hits.
- Embed and explosion are unaffected.
- Occasionally the projectile will not disappear after the second explosion.
- If fired on certain surfaces like small pools of water on Earth, the projectile will vanish on contact and not explode afterwards.
- For the explosion to count as a heavy attack, you need to be in the heavy attack animation when the explosion hits enemies. Which means you have to be close enough so the projectile hits before the animation ends. Or you can use a normal attack, and right before the projectile explodes use a heavy attack to ground slam for example.

Hotfix 33.6.9 (2023-09-12)
- Fixed being able to buff Exodia Contagion's projectile damage with heavy attack multiplier by performing a series of specific parkour movements.
- The movements in question allowed for heavy attacks to be performed mid-air instead of triggering the intended ground slam, which then caused the Heavy Attack damage multiplier to be applied to the projectile. In this Hotfix, we’ve specifically removed the interaction that buffed its damage, as heavy attacking mid-air is not possible otherwise. We understand that this was a popular combination due to its ability to land wild damage numbers, but it was dependent on a movement animation bug and went beyond the original design for the Arcane.
Hotfix 33.0.11 (2023-05-24)
- Fixed Arcane Contagion’s projectile having hexagonal VFX when equipped on a Zaw Polearm Melee using the Kalynex Polearm Skin.
Update 30.5 (2021-07-06)
- A restriction was added to the Exodia Contagion Arcane for Zaws, where it can only activate once while you remain in the air. To use Contagion again you must touch the ground.

Weapon Stance affects the Explosion Damage Scaling of the thrown Zaw — is there a comparison table for this, and which value does it take, standard air attack % or?
How does elemental damage work? if I mod in electric, will all the hits (direct, explosion) deal electric damage and have the chance to apply electric status, or is the damage fixed to the IPS+Viral only?

Except that didnt fix it, they are just doing it wrong
After experimenting in the simulacrum i can confirm:
Damage buffs like Vex Armor get applied TWICE for the projectile.
At first the vex armor base damage buff increases the base damage of the projectile itself, and then gets applied again as a multiplicative bonus to the damage of projectile.
For example:
Lets say you have modded your Chroma to give you a 900% Vex armor damage buff and your Zaw does 100 base damage while having pressure point (120% base damage increase) equiped.
Your zaws base damage is now 220 without vex armor. 100 x (1 + 1.2)
When activating vex armor it gives you 900% damage increase to your weapons, so your zaw now does 100 x (1 + 1.2 + 9) = 1120 damage.
And when throwing the projectile it takes that damage value as the new "base damage" of the projectile as applies the vex armor buff to that projectile, so your damage in the end is 1120 x (1 + 9) = 11200 damage.
THAT is the damage value which is then multiplied by x2 for the projectile impact, by x5 for the explosion and so on....

I think you can with Lavos mod ( Valence formation ) or on direct projectile hit and can proc electrical procs, non direct hit can only proc impact or viral with exodia contagion.
That's correct. Voruna's forced slash also works with every part of the attack as far as I remember. The non-direct hits are pretty weak and you might not notice the few more impact and viral procs.
Does stance matter, they said that the first neutral attack of the stance inherits the damage. If this is true, then the Heavy Blade stance Rending Crane is the winner.
Im confused, the wiki says it increases the damage of projectile after 30m with combo but it also says projectile does not count towards combo. Does this mean it nullifies itself, combo no good?? what?!
It means damage from the projectile does not increase combo count even though it benefits from the current combo count when dealing damage.

Imagine someone putting time and effort to build something. Only for its value to drop in the future. Complained about the depreciating value of stuffs they put hours to grind. Then only to be called by someone who's nose is in the air, entitled and loser.
I can imagine it, because OP is right. If you are stupid enough to spend thousands of plat on a riven to exploit an obviously a bugged interaction, then you shouldn't be trusted with a wallet. One of the dumbest investments I can imagine. Spending thousands on a riven when the developers themselves constantly say disposition can change is dumb enough, but getting one to pursue an exploit is a new level of stupid. And if you didn't buy a riven and you are just complaining about leveling and formaing a zaw or something then the investment is actually minimal. If you rushed out and bought full exodia contagion and you never intended to use it outside of the bug, then rethink your decision making process. Learn your lesson. The arcane can still churn out big damage without the exploit, it just doesn't hit damage cap. It can still hit over a million with eclipse if jump attacking with a melee is your playstyle. Just use it the way it was intended to be used. It still works fine. I couldn't feel less sorry for someone whining about this.

With 12x combo it still does more then 500000 damage & red crits all the time. When the arcane fully activates it does millions of damage.

Ngl this fix sucks, now i lost my acolyte killer weapon, at least it's still good enough for sp content, but man, i liked throwing it with heavy, and now i'll have to move on to my pistols
Killing blow is now completely worthless on it's mod setup, but all other mods including corrupt charge still remain useful on this. Just not those funny numbers anymore, but still packs a punch nonetheless...
Also only the heavy damage boost is nerfed, we can still perform the heavy throw. But the heavy doesn't feel much worth it anymore unless it's a direct hit.

Kinda, it toggles between toxic, corrosive or goes impact/slash. Go for melee dmg, crit chance and crit dmg, I highly recommend using Eclipse ability on a frame for extra melee dmg
