Is there a difference between equipping the melee and attacking or just quick attacking ?

Question/Request

You know when you hold the swap weapons key you equip your melee weapon. Doing that changes anything such as blocking or parrying ?

Yes, you have to manually block with the aim key.

manually equipping melee makes blocking become manual, and that's mostly it.

Can probably, maybe be useful if autoblocking is making you aimglide where you don't want to, or if you need to zoom in while blocking.

There'll probably be someone more knowledgeable than me who knows some special esoteric shenanigans that come from manually equipping melee, but as far as I know, it's usually just worse.

There are some fun E+"block" combos, that could be easier to do or maintain if you lock in to melee...

Also, parrying exists... Not that it's used much

Yes, you only auto block in quick melee. When hard equipped, you have to manually block. Also, there are some Incarnon perks that only apply when the weapon is hard equipped (not quick melee). However, several of those perks are bugged. Either they always apply or just don't work. You'll have to look up each individual one on the Wiki to see how it works (or doesn't).
