Vicious Bond is a Companion mod that allows the companion's melee attacks to reduce enemy armor. Damaging enemies with abilities will also reduce the armor of nearby targets.

The mod can be bought from Son for 20,000 after reaching Rank 3 - Associate with the Entrati.
Notes[]
- The only Sentinel weapon that counts as a melee attack is
Deconstructor and
Deconstructor Prime, but it can only be used by
Helios and
Helios Prime.
- Shockwaves from
Seismic Bond will not trigger the armor strip.
- "Abilities" refers to those used by either your warframe or operator/drifter. Companion precept abilities do not count.
- "Recently damaged" is a time of around 10-15 seconds.

Swipe, as the armor stripping effects will trigger for each target.

What about Hard Engage? It's a melee ability.
This is what im wondering. Im trying to test it and it seems like it doesnt but im not sure

After some more testing, I think Swipe does work with this, but won't trigger the spread from the "recently damaged" effect. If it did I'd expect a clump of enemies to immediately lose all armor from quadratic application, which doesn't happen.
Again, unreliable pet AI makes this very difficult to test accurately.
Did the person who wrote this "tip" about viral quills test it? It doesn't work
What does "recently" mean? I can't imagine what reason they had for not giving an actual number.
It's not clear whether this is triggered by Warframe abilities or Companion abilities either.

I did some testing of my own.
First, it does count Warframe abilities. As far as I could tell Companion precept abilities do not trigger it, but the lousy AI makes this hard to test.
Second, "recently" seems to mean several seconds, but I'm not certain. It's at least 10.
The only way to reliably test this is with enemies that have their AI shut off in the Simulacrum, but garbage pet AI loves to break and just stop attacking permanently when enemies have their AI shut off. Even when using Hunter Command.
Also contrary to the section under "Tips", Viral Quills doesn't seem to trigger it from my testing. But I'm not certain enough to remove it.
What companion best with this mod?
Likely Helios. With the Glaive it can make use of it, and you can mod it to have massive attack speed.
Beast companions tend to have extremely lazy AI that won't attack reliably. Sentinels will just blast away at anything within range.
Does this work with Helminth Charger maggots from the strain set?
Seems like it does! Just tested it in Simulacrum. The maggots dies from enemies very easily tho it's probably best paired with a CC Warframe.
Do companion abilities that deal no damage proc the effect? I only ask because in my (limited) experience with game design, most times something does zero damage, it's usually registered as damage, just as none of it.

Why not just use corrosive or heat? much better in my opinion especially when not using deconstructor.
You build this with Corrosive and heat on the deconstructor, it fully strips armour and spreads to enemies hence why it's a must if your gonna use Helios along with dup

Somebody knows if it's like Warframe abilities armor strip? (If that 15% of armor strip + 85% armor strip of a Warframe ability is equal to 100% armor strip on an enemy)
Yep, this is how it works. Stacks with Warframe strip, corrosive procs, corrosive projection
Corrosive procs and heat procs are multiplicative, but every other armor strip are additive to each other. (See https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Armor#Removing_Enemy_Armor_(Armor_Stripping) )
May someone please test how "Recent" do enemies have to take ability damage for this mod to take effect?
So does the vupuphyla have to hit the spored enemy for it to trigger or do the spores just trigger it overall?
Do we know what other precepts (abilities) can trigger it ? i mean if there are some precepts that would be considered melee even if they dont say so

Kinda wish we had another sentinel weapon that counts as melee. Maybe like a harpoon lance or something.
I tested this bond on Panzer Vuplafpyla and for sime reazon if it hits an enemy affected by her quills it stripped enemys just in 2 strikes instead of 7. If you also add swipe than it can strip multipple enemys at once. Anyone else noticed that? Seems like if it triggers it's own spores it counts as additional melee attacks for some reason.

I don't think it is though? since according to the wiki duplex bond clones can utilize it. it's just an attack range modifier
It takes 2 strikes instead of 7 because the spores from a panzer are set up to cause +3 hits when an enemy infected by them is hit. Sounds kind of weird, I guess, but you can see it clearly in action yourself if you want if you use a panzer to stack melee combo chance.
You can (almost certainly in a buggy interaction) get permanent max melee combo if you use the Melee Guidance aura - taking you to -1 combo duration - on your frame, and then give panzer Tandem Bond to make it give you 6 melee combo per melee hit. Swipe is also useful for this, since it makes the panzer hit 4 enemies per attack. So, at that point, you're doing 4 hits to 4 enemies. With Tandem Bond, you're getting 4*4*6 = 96 combo per panzer melee. With the Melee Guidance bug, the combo has no duration, so you get to max combo in 3 panzer attacks and just stay there.
The must have been patched because I did not gain any combo at all when I tried it..
Doesn't work with hound clones which would of been great to make them have some relevance same with duplex clones
