Contagious Bond is a Companion mod that causes enemies killed by the companion to spread a fraction of their Status Effects to nearby enemies.

The mod can be bought from Son for 20,000 after reaching Rank 3 - Associate with the Entrati.
Notes[]
- At max rank, 50% of the number of status procs present on the target will be spread, rounded down.
- Transferable Status Effects are capped at x100 Status Effects.
- Status procs that are spread inherit 50% of the damage of the initial procs.

Update 35.0 (2023-12-13)
- To address severe performance issues caused by the unlimited amount of Status Effects stacks that could be transferred by Contagion Bond, we have added a 100x stacks total cap to the Mod.
- Enemies can still be inflicted with Status Effect stacks even after hitting this cap. In other words, if 100x stacks have been transferred to an enemy from Contagion Mod, they can still receive more stacks from different sources.
- Fixed Clients being unable to see the Status Effects spread from Contagious Bond in the UI.

Hotfix 34.0.7 (2023-11-02)
- Contagious Bond: Enemies inflicted by damage over time Status Effects will now spread 50% of the tick damage when killed to other enemies.
- Prior to this change, damage over time procs would only tick 1 damage on enemies it spread to. Now, it’ll apply 50% (at max rank) of the tick damage originating from the killed enemy.
- Fixed enemies killed by Contagious Bond’s spread Status Effects not granting Affinity.
- Fixed damage dealt to enemies from Contagious Bond’s spread Status Effects not registering for other Companion mod triggers (e.g. Energy Generator, Synth Deconstruct, etc.).

Freakin mecha mod on a stick

Was an amazing mod, with the 100 cap it now sucks.
The mod was literally crashing games without the 100 cap
I slotted this plenty of times, but it never did anything. I think you have to play an afk style, where you just stand there and do nothing. If you are killing the enemies, it can't stack.
Most companions aren't killing all like that, but hounds to a lot of damage and can kill reliably now iirc

This mod with a specific build on Nautilus, can literally crash your game because an excessive amount of procs, most specific, extreme heat and electricity procs
Does the companion have to get the killing blow, or do assists count?
Killing blow.
This can be cheesed with Heat status procs, as the kill ownership goes to whatever made the first status proc.
Sooo it seems with heat inherit this doesnt always spread at least in sim
This mod stops working very quickly because of some recursive script executions
By the way, this mod can proc itself, which is kinda insane.
Also use the fucking mecha set, it makes this even more insane.
It seems to be bugged to just stop working a 1minute or so into a mission for some reason.
Good news DOT effects now spread at 50% efficiency
A surprisingly worthless mod.
Not only does it not transfer the proc damage to let stuff like Kubrows AoE nuke, but more surprisingly is that enemies tagged by this don't even count as assist for mods like Synth Deconstruct or Energy Generator. It's literally for nothing but priming.
It does work with Mecha set.
Unfortunately it doesn't help much because all DoTs from this mod deal 1 damage for whatever reason
I didn't say it didn't work with the mecha set, I said it didn't let Kubrows themselves nuke.
With the right build, Kubrows can easily kill even lvl195 SP Heavy Gunners (without the mecha mark). If this mod also transfered damage, they'd be able to do that to not just 1 enemy at a time, but every enemy in a 9m AoE.
Both of these issues have now been fixed, significantly improving the effectiveness of this mod.

Status procs that are spread do not inherit the damage of the initial procs. Status procs that can deal damage will deal 1 damage.
Really hope its a bug
No good for spreading things like bleed then according to the notes.
Purely for the CC aspect like electric stuns and corrosive armor strips.
Clearly intended for priming with Viral stacks and for CO effects.
