Mirror Defense is a variant of Defense where the Tenno are tasked to protect two defense objectives connected through the Void, while collecting pickups to gain resources and activate defensive systems.
Access to the node on Tyana Pass, Mars requires completion of the Heart of Deimos quest and Mastery Rank 3, while Munio, Deimos requires completion of Whispers in the Walls quest.
Mechanics[]
Unlike traditional Defense where enemies are fought off in waves, Mirror Defense consists of a time limit of two and a half minutes for each objective, with a 30 second downtime in between to traverse the Void tunnel. A rotation is completed once both objectives have been defended, or every five and a half minutes. Rotation rewards follow an AABC drop table pattern.
Tyana Pass[]
Players must protect two crystals, Rania's Crystal from Grineer on Mars and then cross a Void tunnel to defend Belric's Crystal from Corpus on Venus. These crystals cannot be healed by Abilities or weapon passives unlike typical Defense Objects.[1]
Citrine's Remnants, appearing as crystallized teardrops, can be found scattered across the tilesets as enemies are slain and are most abundant during the Void tunnel transition. Remnants appear in groups of 3-8 and spawn in with an audible cue, and these pickups are shared squad-wide. Collecting 50 will heal the active crystal by 3,500 plus 15% of its max Health, grant it Overshields, and spawn a
Prismatic Ward above the crystal to provide firing support. Remnants will despawn on the active tileset once the time limit ends. Remnants are not affected by
Vacuum or
Fetch, and are not able to be picked up with
Mag's Pull ability or while within
Limbo's Rift Plane or with
Wukong's Cloud Walker.

Munio[]
Players must protect the Auricle and Vitreum of Albrecht's Laboratories. Likewise, when each round is done, players must cross the Void to get to the other side.
Vosphene Glyphs function as pickups for this variant of Mirror Defense, appearing as glowing Requiem icons. Collecting 50 will heal the Auricle or Vitreum by 3,500 plus 15% of its max Health, grant it Overshields, and surround the objectives with 8
Chyrinka Pillars.

Notes[]
- Belric's and Rania's Crystals can be scanned into the Codex via Codex Scanners or Synthesis Scanners. A minimum of 3 scans each reveals lore behind them and their ties to Citrine.
Belric Crystal Fragments and
Rania Crystal Fragments are not affected by Resource Boosters or
Smeeta Kavat's
Charm.
Tips[]
- Citrine's Remnants/Vosphene Glyphs can appear on the minimap as a lootable item via Loot Radar.
- Because the mission runs on a time limit rather than needing to kill all enemies to pass a wave, players only need to hold off enemies from destroying the defense targets. Thus, abilities that
Slow down enemies are no longer detrimental to mission time, unlike with standard Defense. However, stacking such abilities excessively can negatively impact the squad's kill count and by extension the spawn rate of Citrine's Remnants/Vosphene Glyphs. - Warframes with superb aerial mobility can make gathering Remnants and Glyphs much easier.
Titania's
Razorwing and
Jade's
Glory on High are abilities that enable true flight, enabling better control for this.
Chroma's passive enables him to triple-jump and perform two consecutive bullet jumps.
- Remnants and Glyphs spawn in abundance in the Void tunnel during the 30 second downtime between waves.
- Collecting enough Remnants during the downtime is recommended as both the Overshields and the Prismatic Ward/Chyrinka Pillar will be applied to the current defense target as soon as the wave begins.
Trivia[]
- The Corpus Defense tileset uses a retired Corpus Ship tileset, previously used on Xini when it was a Defense mission.
- Orowyrms can occasionally be seen passing through the Void tunnel.
- Tyl Regor mentions the tubemen, but the Grineer forces involved are Arid Grineer rather than the Drekar forces Regor associates with. One of Regor's lines when a new Grineer wave starts has him admonishing Lech Kril for ignoring the Tenno's presence on Mars, threatening to withhold any useful genes he finds if Kril does not take responsibility.
Patch History[]
Hotfix 35.5.7 (2024-04-17)
Changes to address feedback on Deep Archimedea Mirror Defense missions:
The following changes were made based on feedback received from players about the difficulty of Mirror Defense missions in Deep Archimedea, but they apply across Warframe.
- Made the following changes to The Hollow Vein:
- Greatly reduced how often it hits Defense targets with its ranged laser attack.
- Before: Due to Defense targets being much larger than players, they were applying several hit ticks in a row onto these targets resulting in massive damage.
- Now: it will only hit Defense targets once with its laser attack.
- Changed its AoE attack targeting logic to improve the frequency of when it is used.
- Before: Once the attack started and it was near something like a Defense target, it would trigger and linger indefinitely.
- Now: The attack will only trigger when players are nearby and will be canceled when players are no longer within its radius.
- Fixed a possible issue where Hollow Vein could theoretically make allies, Defense targets, and players hit by its laser attack permanently vulnerable to friendly fire.
- Greatly reduced how often it hits Defense targets with its ranged laser attack.
- Changed the amount that Citrine’s Remnants (Tyana Pass) and Vosphene Glyphs (Munio) heal their respective Mirror Defense target.
- Before: Collecting the required amount of the aforementioned pickups would restore 5,000 Health.
- Now: Collecting enough pickups will restore 3,500 Health plus 15% of the Defense target’s Max Health, ensuring the pickups scale better as levels increase while still maintaining a level of difficulty.
- The Auricle and Vitreum Defense targets now have a 75% Damage Reduction against Rogue Voidrig and Bonewidow weapons and abilities.
- Fixes:
- Fixed a script error when picking up Citrine's Remnants in the Tyana Pass Mirror Defense mission.
Update 35.5 (2024-03-27)
- Mastery-Rank Locked Inbox Messages
The following content is already locked behind Mastery Rank, but players receive details about it before reaching that Mastery Rank. Now, these messages will not be sent until players have met the Mastery Rank requirement.
- Otak’s Tyana Pass inbox message will now be delivered upon completing the Heart of Deimos AND reaching Mastery Rank 3.
- Tyana Pass originally did not have a Mastery Rank requirement, but we are adding it so as to not distract new players from the Main Questline.
Hotfix 35.0.4 (2023-12-20)
- Fixed enemies on Tyana Pass spawning in front of players.
- Fixed only receiving the first round Mirror Defense rotation rewards when playing a bounty on Munio (Deimos).
- Fixed Stalker being able to drop multiple items in Munio Mirror Defense.
Hotfix 35.0.3 (2023-12-18)
- Fixed a hole in the Mirror Defense, Munio tileset.
Hotfix 35.0.2 (2023-12-14)
- Fixed the Tyana Pass, Mars Mirror Defense mission not starting after entering the defense target’s radius.
Hotfix 35.0.1 (2023-12-13)
- Fixed a script error when closing the game during the new Mirror Defense mission on Deimos.
Update 35.0 (2023-12-13)
- DEIMOS EXPANSION: NEW NODES & MISSION TYPES
Completing the Whispers in the Walls Quest unveils five new nodes on Deimos to continue your excursions throughout Albrecht’s Laboratories. One of these new nodes feature a brand new mission type called Alchemy and four feature existing mission types (Assassination, Mirror Defense, Survival, and Exterminate) with an Entrati twist. All of these nodes are also available on The Steel Path!
- MIRROR DEFENSE (ENDLESS)
The Murmur is staging an attack against Albrecht’s Laboratories! They have pinpointed the Laboratories best defenses against them and it is up to you to protect against the onslaught.
How To Access:
Select the Munio node (default and Steel Path) on Deimos from the Star Chart or from the Laboratory Navigation in the Sanctum Anatomica.
How To Play:
Protect the Vitreum and the Auricle as the enemies alternate their attacks between the two. A rotation is complete once both have been defended.
Vosphene Glyphs are the key to triggering the Laboratories’ automated security system. Gathering the required amount will bolster the active defense target by surrounding it with offensive turrets. Doing so will also reward 3x Stela (5x on Steel Path).
Rewards
Notable rewards for completing a round of Mirror Defense include:
- New Tome Mods
- Mandonel Components
Update 33.0 (2023-04-26)
- Fixed issue with Mirror Defense rotations getting skipped after Host Migration.
- Fixed rare crash related to object rendering in Mirror Defense.
Hotfix 32.3.6 (2023-03-15)
- Mirror Defense (Tyana Pass) Drop Table Changes:
We have made the following changes to Mirror Defense’s drop table to make each rotation feel more rewarding by increasing your chance of earning Citrine, Corufell, Steflos, and the new Arcanes.
- Rotation A:
- Replaced the 3,000 Credits Cache and some Endo chance with Neo Relics.
- Rotation B:
- Decreased the drop chance of Neo Relics.
- Increased the drop chance of Corufell and Steflos parts, Primary Plated Round and Secondary Kinship.
- Rotation C:
- Decreased the drop chance of Axi Relics.
- Increased the drop chance of Citrine’s Blueprints, Secondary Encumber, Arcane Double Back, and Arcane Steadfast.
Visit the Public Drop Tables for the updated values.
- Changes:
- Changed the position of Citrine’s Remnants on the fan in the Void tunnel so that they are grouped together in the center of it for collection.
- Fixes:
- Fixed Tyana Pass, Mars being eligible for Kuva Lich missions if your Lich is on Mars.
- Since Kuva Lich missions are exclusively Grineer, this was creating spawning issues on the Corpus side of the Mirror Defense mission.
- Fixed new players being unable to use resource Extractors on Mars if you do not have Tyana Pass completed (which requires you to complete the Heart of Deimos Quest for it to appear in Navigation).
Hotfix 32.3.4 (2023-02-23)
- Added a custom mini-map marker for Citrine’s Remnants.
- Fixed Protea’s Grenade Fan’s Shield Satellites (held cast) and Wisp’s Reservoirs (Vitality Mote & Fused Reservoir) healing the Belric and Rania’s Crystals.
- This is a follow up fix to the one made in Hotfix 32.2.3 with the same reasoning/intention: Mirror Defense was designed to allow healing, grant overshields and provide active protection with the Prismatic Ward all through collecting Citrine’s Remnants instead of relying on Warframe and Weapon abilities.
Hotfix 32.3.2 (2023-02-16)
- Fixed being able to heal Belric and Rania’s Crystals through Warframe Abilities and Weapons.
- Mirror Defense was designed to allow healing, grant overshields and provide active protection with the Prismatic Ward all through collecting Citrine’s Remnants instead of relying on Warframe and Weapon abilities.
- Fixed the Mirror Defense rotation ending early and skipping the Venus side if a Host Migration occurs while defending the Mars side.
- Fixed duplicate Mirror Defense objective waypoints appearing when moving back to the Mars side, if a Host Migration occurs while defending the Venus side.
- Fixed seeing multiple Orowyrms while in the Void tunnel in the Mirror Defense mission.
- Fixed Tyl Regor appearing much lower in his transmissions in Mirror Defense if you enter the Defense area while a Lotus transmission is playing.
Hotfix 32.3.1 (2023-02-15)
- Fixed Script error related to collecting Citrine’s Remnants in Mirror Defense.
- Fixed Citrine’s Remnants missing their visual effect before disappearing in Mirror Defense.
- Fixed the wave timer in Mirror Defense resetting if a Host Migration occurs.
- Also fixed an issue of the UI timer and in-game timer having differences, which would cause each wave to take longer than intended.
Update 32.3 (2023-02-15)
- Introduced.
- ↑ "Mirror Defence was designed to allow healing, grant overshields and provide active protection with the Prismatic Ward all through collecting Citrine’s Remnants instead of relying on Warframe and Weapon abilities." - Hotfix 32.3.2 (2023-02-16) patch notes

If you are farming this for Citrine, I recommend running with jade. Her flight makes it easier to get the remnants and her AoE is great for keeping the killcount high.
people can tell me Tyana is ass all they want, i love this thing. Get out the way, gay boy, those crystals are MINE
Calling them gay while wanting the crystals? Ironic.
Hands down the worst game mode in Warframe! Frustratingly slow and the rewards are so incredibly grindy. I played enough of Tyana Pass to build 2 Citrines along with a Steflos and I've only gotten a single Corufell BP and NONE of the other parts for it. Played enough Munio to build the Mandonel and bought all the Tome mods with plat. The game mode isn't even difficult for the most part. Just painful and boring to play!
Couldn't agree more
Reinforcing the objective in archimedea heals like 5k health and doesnt give shields, what a fucking scam
From my experience it only gives shields if the 5k heal surprasses the maximum health from the objective
Munio.. 60% chance of not getting a Tome mod. I would say just buy the 8 pack of Tome mods for 140p unless you like this mode and are missing the Mandonel. I guess right now(03-28-2024) if you get a Xata one you can sell that for 90p (the rest of the mods on warframe.market sell for half the price or less).
Anyone having issues with the citrine remanants healing the crystals? joined a group where the venus one was badly damaged, and collecting 50 spawned the prismatic thing but did not heal it at all.
Reproduceable. Three different sp mirror defense missions where we could not heal the blue venus crystal.
I just realized today. The Auricle is just an EAR, and the Vitreum, an enormous EYE.
Yep, that's the joke. The vitreous humor, if you will.
Yep, that's the joke. The vitreous humor, if you will.
Oh my god, Ordis get back in your cage ...
Under Eternalism, there are infinite possibilities, and therefore infinite timelines. This includes the timeline where DE removes credit caches from the first Mirror Defense mission in order to declutter the drop tables, then releases the second Mirror Defense mission with a drop table of credit caches, endo, pitiful quantities of tileset resources, and lower tiers of relic than the first Mirror Defense mission despite being over twice the enemy level and not even having a pity shop to fall back on.
I can´t hear you i'm to busy diving on my pile of credits
But i agree op. 5k credits cache on a very late game mode like that is just a middle finger lol.
What mr 4 player are going to be doing those missions?
Is it me or did they up the chances for Endo on Sanctum Anatomica's Mirror Defense?
30% Chance seems a bit low compared to what I'm getting...
Wait-- WHY THE FUCK IS IT 30% FOR ENDO?!
GOD DAMN IT DE.
It appears that currently, the Munio mirror defense *does not count* toward the mirror defense nightwave daily (just tested this) . Which may mean they function differently in other areas too, if relevant (for now)
AABC is shite when all important part is dumped in only C
instead of AABBCCC...
Also wasted time and can speed up in any way
*can't
Agree with you. So i´ll just let it be.
The mods aren´t worth the effort
This farm would be less annoying to me if it was an ABCCC type reward structure. With the drop table as is, you have a 72% chance to not get a Citrine part. Doesn't sound too bad, but obviously your likely hood of getting what you want drops with each blueprint you get until you're left with a 6.3% or 9.1% chance to get what you want per C rotation. A rotation that at the moment only occurs every 20 minutes. Thank god this mission has a mercy mechanic in the form of the Crystals.
Except that would suck fot the people trying to grind the weapons, cuz u'd only have 1 chance to get a drop and then either continue for the remnants or restart
You can buy the weapon parts with the currency they reward, but secondary encumber the most insane arcane out there now is only rotation c.
All these long missions are designed in such a way, either you open your wallet or you work hard at it
"Except that would suck fot the people trying to grind the weapons, cuz u'd only have 1 chance to get a drop and then either continue for the remnants or restart"
Dude apply for a job at DE, you seem to have the same IQ as they do in terms of reward structures. How would it be different if it was ABCCC... in terms of getting a reward you want at B rot? If you are farming B you'd play for 10 mins, leave, and come back ANYWAY since you'd save time from running C rot. For someone who wants to farm C rot though, now they have to wait 20 whole minutes to farm it with abysmal chances to get the drop they want. I really can't even comprehend how people like you think. DE that wants to farm plat from us I get, but the average user having this kind of thought process is beyond me.
This is the worst mission type in the game. I wish people would understand the garbage they ask for. Timers are complete shit. There is nothing close to how bad this mission is.
You are completly right
Timers would be good if it DE implemented it fairly, instead, it takes 25 and a half minutes for 4 rounds which is 5 min too long. they purposely do this as faster missions are not good for their bottom line. ABCC.. rotation would make this dair but keeping the same AABC rotation is criminal.
Terrible busy work mission with inadequate rewards. You are better of buying everything for plat than wasting time on this chore.
I get relics being a drop on normal endless missions, sure.
However,
No one is playing mirror defense for relics. They are literally exclusively here to farm for Citrine and maybe the arcanes. I don't even dislike the game mode, but the fact you have to go to rotation C to start getting the actual parts, and even then you're more likely to get a bunch of rubbish relics than any of Citrine's parts. I'd honestly rather have the 400 endo from rotation A than more relics! 400 endo is at least an actual palpable reward instead of just the potential for a reward!
Buy the parts with Remnants and move on...
2 Khra, 3 Ris, 4 Jahu. None of any other tome.
Is this drop table legit?
Yes.
https://www.warframe.com/de/droptables
Hi! I'd like to trade you all these fucking [Mandonel Barrel] for some of those pls
Entrati Obols x150 Necracoil x15 10%
Both are bs and you know it DE, we get more just grinding than from rewards as always
Just give more % to rest or add more relics or other items that work, formas bp
The grind is real...
Drop tables for this mission type are horrible. Spent 1hr 40m (5 times full AABC rotation) on Munio to get absolutely nothing new, only endo and piddly relics nobody wants from this mission. I'd rather farm traditional defense because at least you can speed those up some.
We are supposed to play this until the next update...
Garbage Rhyme >:(
"are not affected by Resource Boosters or Smeeta Kavat's Charm. " Is a joke the idea we have booster in the first place is help Tenno get through the farming. you cannot even speed up the mission itself basically give Veren Tenno a mid-finger. at least Defense mission can speed up the mission for Mirror Defense is nothing more than a copy and paste of Defense and yet DE manager makes it harder for what? get through plat park? Defense mode already soulless.
you have an idea to make soulless mode and make it harder!?
Because Charm doubles pickups and resources while resource boosters increase the amount of resources you get. Fragments you collect are neither. They are in the same category with the transmitters you collect in one of the Ostron bounties where Lotus needs you to collect them by killing specific enemies so she can call in the supply drop so you can destroy the supply drop.
Soulless comment, you guys complain about any small detail in this fcking game
