Secondary Outburst is a Secondary Arcane that consumes all melee combo multipliers to increase secondary weapon Critical Chance and Critical Damage upon swapping to a secondary weapon.
Effect[]
Rank | Bonus per Combo | Bonus with 12x Combo | Bonus with 13x Combo |
---|---|---|---|
0 | +5% | +60% | +65% |
1 | +7% | +84% | +91% |
2 | +9% | +108% | +117% |
3 | +12% | +144% | +156% |
4 | +16% | +192% | +204% |
5 | +20% | +240% | +260% |
Acquisition[]
- May appear as a Steel Path Circuit Tier 1, 3, 4, 6, or 7 reward on a weekly rotational basis.
- May be sold by Acrithis for 10
Pathos Clamps on a daily rotational basis, requiring Drifter Intrinsics Opportunity Rank 9 for the arcanes to appear in her shop.
- May drop from Undercroft portals in the Duviri Experience while on Steel Path.
Notes[]
- The values are additive with mods like
Pistol Gambit and
Target Cracker.
- While the buff is active, swapping to secondary will not consume Combo unless it would provide a higher buff than the active one.
- For example, if the current buff is +100% (swapping from a 5x combo), the arcane will not consume your combo if your combo level is 5x or below when you swap.
- The buff affects all secondaries, even exalted pistols like
Regulators,
Dex Pixia, and
Balefire Charger.
- It is not possible to consume combo count from both a normal and exalted melee simultaneously, only whichever is currently active.
- The
Venka Prime's increased maximum combo count works with this arcane, allowing for a slightly larger buff than is possible with other melee weapons.
Tips[]
- Can use the Gun and Blade perk of
Ceramic Dagger Incarnon as well as
Corrupt Charge and
Covert Lethality.
- The full effect can be obtained through
Melee Crescendo, which is easily stacked by opening enemies to ground finishers with ragdoll grouping from Void Snare,
Airburst,
Coil Horizon,
Pull, etc.
Bugs[]
- Still incorrectly provides the buff, again only for Clients, and seemingly only when using Gunblades. Specifically, Vastilok and Redeemer Prime were used in testing.
Patch History[]
Hotfix 35.0.9 (2024-01-17)
- Fixed the following issues with Secondary Outburst when used by Clients:
- Fixed Clients’ Combo Multipliers not being consumed when switching to Secondary.
- Fixed Clients’ Secondary dealing less than the intended damage while Secondary Outburst’s buffs are active.
Update 34.0 (2023-10-18)
- The Secondary Outburst Arcane has received some overall buffs! Additionally, we’ve fixed it not functioning properly and its description being inaccurate. The new description is as follows:

Update 33.6 (2023-07-27)
- Fixed the Secondary Outburst Arcane consuming one less than the indicated Combo Counter (e.g. the UI displayed 15 but the value used for the Arcane was 14).
Update 33.5 (2023-06-21)
- Introduced.

For those who think it's not working with glaives...
Yes, and its working, all you have to do is bring primary weapon too beside seconday weapon you have on mission
So, swap primary first then press E, then press F to switch on secondary then outburst will activated...
Repeat if you want to refresh the timer
Looks like the buff stop working after 20 min survival despite the icon shows the 240% full bonus
It worked perfectly for me in a steel path conjunction survival omnia fissure even after 80 minutes, idk why it stopped working for you.
For me it happens while using crescendo and reaching max combo stacks,
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same issue, but when using Outburst in conjunction with Mesa's Regulators the buff seems to bug out (i.e. completely deactivate) from time to time even though the icon is still visible in the HUD. Usually I see this happening when I go in and out of Peacemaker in more or less quick succession, which will make the buff work correctly and give orange plus the occasional red crit for a couple of seconds before going back to mostly yellow / orange. Quite annoying, even though quickly de- and reactivating Peacemaker will usually reset the buff for a short while. I'm not entirely sure what's causing this and if there's a way to prevent it from happening. Thoughts anyone?
This happens because it takes time for the initial combo on your melee weapon to build up. Going in and out of peacemaker really fast while having your secondary weapon equipped will make it consume the melee combo, effectively preventing it from reaching 12x. To solve this, simply swap to primary and occasionally swap back to secondary, then back to primary again to proc secondary outburst.
Yeah, this would make sense if the bug occurred right after switching back into Peacemaker (although, technically, it shouldn't if Secondary Outburst works as advertized and doesn't override a stronger existing buff with a weaker one). However, what I see regularly is the crit tier reverting back to that without buff while Peacemaker is still active and the buff icon is up as well.
After testing this doesn't seem to happen if you stay in Peacemaker for at least the whole duration of the buff (i.e. 30+ s) before cycling out and back into the ability, but occurs frequently if you re-trigger the buff early. It feels like the game is keeping track of each individual 30-s instance of the buff separately in the background and resets the effect whenever the oldest concurrent instance runs out, even though the HUD icon displays the remaining duration of the newest instance.
So, in essence, it appears that you can't refresh or extend the buff's duration while it's still active, despite the UI saying otherwise.
Does it (still) trigger with Mesa's Regulators? I have the ceramic dagger incarnon and then Secondary Outburst on my secondary kit gun. With my primary weapon equipped, when I hit my 4 with Mesa, I do not get the secondary Outburst icon on the HUD. If I switch from my primary to my secondary, I do. I am I missing something?
Still working
IIRC you can enter, then immediately leave, then once again activate Peacemaker, and it will activate Outburst
Outburst does not actually trigger when you equip Regulators, it will trigger when you equip your secondary weapon - which you do when leaving Regulators. Now since Regulators do not force equip your secondary weapon like for example Dante's Noctua does you will never trigger the Arcane unless you switch from your primary weapon to your secondary before starting your Dakka spree because you will go back and forth between your primary and exalted weapon.
This is incorrect, if you have your secondary equipped before entering peacemaker, you will equip your secondary again upon leaving peacemaker, causing outburst to trigger. Sometimes it bugs out though, mostly when spamming peacemaker. Staying in peacemaker for a few seconds and then swapping back to secondary seems to fix this.
Love this thing, if I did the math right it gives a bit over 2x my Lex P's previous damage output with the riven I have, after swapping out the acolyte arcane. I apparently get an average of ~5 million damage per incarnon shot with galvanized diffusion maxed out. When I'm not instantly deleting corrupted bombard eximi, they're gone a second later from good ol' hemorrhage.
Does anyone know if this works with the Venka Prime's 13x multiplier?
It fully works with it yes
Works amazingly well with ceramic dagger incarnon. Since with full buffs it's multiplier cannot drop below 7x (more, if you can get good riven for ceramic dagger). Thus very much effortlessly getting permanent +140% to crit chance and damage for secondary weapon.
With corrupt charge and covert lethality u get total 9x combo
Actually with new melee arcane you can get 12x permanent. Alas drop rate for that arcane is very low.
Without Melee Crescendo, you can still have x10 at base with Corrupt Charge (30), Covert Lethality (16), incarnon perk (20, +100 after 100 gun kills), Ready Steel (24) = 190 -> x10 combo multiplier.
That leaves 30 for permanent max bonus, attainable with Riven, or Melee Crescendo.
How does this work with Glaives? They're dual-wielded along with your secondary so you can't "swap" to your secondary with it out.
Do you have to build combo with your melee, swap to your primary, then to your secondary... or does it just trigger when you shoot like with another melee weapon?
When you switch to it with f, if you quick attack with primary it only uses your glaive which does not activate it. As of 1/22/2024 incarnons on secondaries cannot be activated if paired with a glaive.
Not sure when this started occurring, but a friend and I both noticed this week while running Plague Star that Secondary Outburst doesn't activate if you're not the host. Anybody else observing this?
What kind of crit chance does this provide? Additive to Pistol Gambit? Additive to Avenger? Or additive to base crit?
Additive to pistol gambit. Anything else would be extreme broken. At 12x combo (which is pretty easy to build) you would get 5 avengers and 4 hollow point lol
Is this arcane drops from portals in Duviri expiriense mode?
If so, with what drop rate?
Cause it's almost never spawns on circuit rewards, and Acrithis shop alike.
As someone mentioned previously-
Arcane on rank 5 has 20% Crit increase per Combo Multiplier, not 12%
Have a nice day
This page needs an update
Got a buff in U34 (Abyss of Dagath).
Changed to granting Critical Chance and Critical Damage upon swapping to Secondary Weapon, consuming melee combo counter. Bonus scales with combo multiplier at the time of swapping. Values are 5/7/9/12/16/20% per combo multiplier. Duration becomes 30s.
(Basically similar mechanic to how it was previously, but grants both CC & CD, bigger %, and longer duration)
Needs testing to see if it behaves like the description says, considering how it was (said CC but granted CD).
For clarity, does "swapping" only count when going between primary and secondary? or will it count as swapping if your secondary is equipped and you are using melee, and then hit the fire button to pull out the secondary?
If there is melee combo present and you switch to your secondary, it will drain that combo.
It took a month to make this page because of how irrelevantly horrible this arcane is. And the fact that other new arcanes since the Zariman that have had feedback for over a year and not received a touch up just really adds Arcane foddder. Of all things, we get trash Arcanes.
This arcane seem to be made for a niche build using the Rauta shotgun, as you can build combo in a couple of shots. That and the new sevagoth augment released for crit chance. If you have a way to keep crit chance high with whatever means, this allows for a bigger damage buff than other arcanes. Slap some
What about mesa?
Mesa with a ceramic dagger incarnon begs to differ
