Lore & History
- Main article: Leverian#Dante
- Main article: Loid (Original)/Quotes#Research Dante
General
Dante served as scribe and historian who worked with Entrati. Additionally, he was the main chronicler of the Leverian, a little-known museum named after Drusus Leverian, it's curator. A student of history and avid seeker of knowledge, Dante soon became close friends with both Drusus and Albrecht Entrati's assistant, Loid.
Due to his nature as a Warframe, Dante was unable to speak with a conventional voice; instead, he spoke through his writing, and his voice was indeed beautiful.[1] A natural scholar, Dante possessed an affinity for knowledge, and often shared the Entrati's interest with bones and the dead.[2] He even went on to publish some of the finest works detailing ancient Earth archaeology, something that was considered impossible for a mere Warframe to accomplish.[3]
Dante was one of the few warframes who didn't immediately go mad and join in the Warframe Insurrection. However, he became a wanted fugitive.[4]
Dante's Investigation
When Albrecht disappeared, Dante became eager to unveil the mystery behind the disappearance. Despite promising Drusus otherwise, he ventured into Albrecht's Laboratories against his friend's wishes. Within the hauntingly silent halls, Dante encountered the lab's malfunctioning Necramechs; all acting violent and chanting in eldritch Voidtongue.
As Drusus watched, the wrong-tongued dialect began to worm into Dante's mind, tempting him with his one weakness; the promise of knowledge. He had discovered The Book, an unknown, unearthly tome of knowledge that was laid as a trap by The Indifference as an attempt to seize control of him. As Dante struggled to resist its knowledge, he heard his dear friend say, "Dante, what you have found can never be brought forth. Parvos must never know of this."
Thus, Dante gave up, allowing himself to succumb to the Book's influence and take his life. However, the Book and the hellish words within did not allow Dante to die, and instead altered the very fabric of who the Warframe was. Transported to stars unknown, that wrong-tongued Voice now murmurs endlessly within his head, longing to be known, to exist, and to survive.

- ↑ "Warframes cannot speak, as a rule. Their creator decided they should only scream, or roar, or howl. Dante spoke through his writing, and his voice was beautiful." - Loid
- ↑ "Dante shared the Entrati fascination with bones. I was content to let him explore our old burial vaults and ossuaries, but his request to examine my own replicated skull was a step too far. Otherwise his manners were impeccable." - Loid
- ↑ "Dante's works on ancient Earth archaeology were some of the finest in the field. Many back then refused to accept a mere warframe could have written them." - Loid
- ↑ "I remember when we learned of the Warframe insurrections. Their madness, savage and sudden, justifying all the Orokin fear. All their heroic deeds were forgotten in an instant. Those like Dante who had yet to succumb became fugitives. To shelter them meant death - or glassing." - Loid

The existence of a Dante Warframe gives credence to the existence of a Virgil Warframe. I await the approaching storm...
This dude is cracked.
His sound design is awful. Designing a spam heavy frame with such loud and obnoxious effects seems crazy.
Shame you can't replace his dash because his animation is terrible and seems to take longer before you can do another dash or get your guns out. That last little lunge is pathetic.
The guy that gives absolutely zero FUCK to nerf whiners. Cry about it.
"That day, if our positions were switched, would I have your life and you mine?"
Excalibur
By and far the strongest Support in the game rn. Actually disgusting, in the best way of course.
Citrine can get pretty close to him but his overguard stacking really helps squishy frames which benefit less from damage reduction. After his nerfs he is in a pretty good spot right now I would say.
Scared what he was before nerf if now highest Overguard I've got is ~133k. :D
(Maxed Ability Strength + Molt Augmented + Boosted Triumph + Ability Relic bonus + one of those wandering ability boosting ghosts on Lua)
And with same bonuses the Tragedy wipes damn near everything...
He was literally the same before his "Nerf".
He is by far and away the best Support frame in the game rn. The LoS change does literally nothing to him, his buffs are insane, his damage is good and he'll carry any party in any content.
You could literally take a player with MK-1 weapons, put buffs on them and watch them kill everything while you afk and get free scans.
interesting idea... sorry buy there is already better warframes!
So what site should i use for tier lists?
Tier lists really don't work for a game like warframe but if you want the most accurate ratings just go into the qna channel and ask about a specific frame/weapon
Thanks
Dante is certified S, S for shitter frame, you should be ashamed if you play him in any content
Had a bug today with my Kavat. Put light+light+final verse on it which worked for a while. After some time in the mission (survival) I noticed the overguard was gone. so I cast light+light+final verse again. The first light gave the Kavat 9K overguard and the second one also putting at 18K overguard. Final Verse gave it 80K overguard putting it at 98K oveguard and then it instantly disappeared. Couldn't get the overguard to stick after that. It would put too much overguard every time and bug out.
The bug itself is on DE's radar but it will be fixed in a certification update as it cannot be patched in a hotfix.
It is partly to do with how overguard interacts with the companion mod pack leader, even without it, the coding for it seems to interfere with overguard from other sources.
Danteh⋯ Do your nightwave missions Danteh⋯
If you think about it netracells are just Mirror dungeon hard
A little invincible nothing much
So, the Overguard applied by Light Verse and Triumph behaves a bit strangely when applied to certain non-player, non-companion allies: IE, rescue targets, railjack crewmates, Eidolon Lures, kavor defectors, operative defense targets/chipper, etc.
It will only apply Overguard if the target doesn't already have Overguard. So if you can cast your two Light Verses before getting into range of your target, you can apply the much stronger Triumph to them- although they will not receive the ability to regenerate Overguard even if they are capable of getting kills. They also won't be healed by Light Verse.
If you want to use Dante to "heal" those particular allies, preemptively preparing two Light Verses and waiting for their Overguard to be lost before casting Triumph works reasonably well- I can comfortably solo Trilodons while keeping the lures alive this way. Unfortunately, in cases where the UI will show the health and shield of, say, a rescue target, it won't show the Overguard they possess.
Also, for some reason, converted Liches/Sisters as railjack crew can't receive Overguard this way at all. Though they don't really need it, in my experience.
Dante's Passive will work on Hollow Thrax Duviri scans.
I have no idea how the Wordwarden Noctua copy can shoot 9 times a second. Best I can do from my testing is around 2.5
What are you using to trigger the Wordwarden shots? Wordwarden essentially has a very short internal cooldown- I suspect it's 0.1 seconds given that 1 divided by 9 is 0.11111(...).
Any weapon hits you make will cause Wordwarden to fire a homing projectile at whatever you hit, limited by that cooldown- so in order to get Wordwarden to fire that quickly, you need to use a high fire rate weapon. Wielding Noctua itself isn't ideal for maximizing Wordwarden's fire rate, but gets you much better alt-fire charge rate in exchange.
I've been using T. Cycron with 16.8 fire rate. The book fires MUCH slower than 9 shots per second from what I've seen
Is there a way i can remove dante overguard?
Yeah, i love killing enemies in Profit taker fight
Mods like Rage don't work with overguard. So some builds might be negatively affected.
Rage and Hunters Adrenaline do infact work with ally overguard so idk what AeonsLegend is on about
It doesn't work with overguard you put on yourself, but I guess it's different if you get it from somewhere else? That's super weird though.
Forbidden to speak but speaks through his book. What a chad.
What a nerd
They added a fucking wizard to warframe we are so back
We're all void wizards...
I thought we were void ninjas... i mean void pirates... i mean void boyband????
Important notice.
Where normal shot of Noctua benefit from multishot. Alt-fire does not.
Tested it, with standard 1x and with modded 2.8x multishot against single enemy, alt-fire registers only a single shot, and will generate single 4% tome charge (per tome mod).
Which actually sucks, since alt-fire of Noctua already inferior to Grimoire for generation tome charges.
So basically, the only way to generate max charges - is actually hitting that many (15) enemies with single shot. Which is quite tricky even against infested enemies.
While it is true that multishot will not increase the number of alt-fire projectiles, you don't need to hit 15 enemies in a single shot to achieve max charges- if an invocation buff is already active when you use the alt fire again, you will refresh the duration and add to your existing stack count. (At least, this is how it works with Xata Invocation. I don't see why it would be different for the other three.)
Noctua can easily charge up the alt-fire before the buff duration runs out, due to the projectile splintering + wordwarden, even on a single target. So as long as you're using the alt-fire often, you can keep Invocations active without needing to hit a huge group with a single shot.
I'm pretty sure Multishot scales with the alt fire in a similar way to beam weapons- directly modifying the damage/status chance without increasing the total projectile count.
Incidentally, though, one thing that you cannot do is swap between the standard Grimoire and Noctua equipped with the same Invocation to refresh the buff using both alt-fires- in this particular case, if you have stacks from the alt fire of one of them, gaining stacks with the other will remove the original buff instead of adding to it.
To much job tbh to maintain those buffs. Most i do is just firing up Noctua, when Netra almost expired.
Here is a hint on how to maintain tome mods.
Equip standard Grimoire with any tome mod.
When it's charged up - launch its alt-atatck, which is significantly better for building up tome charges than Noctua's alt fire.
Once ball is launched and built max charges for Grimoire's mod - hit #1 to switch to Noctua. For some weird reason you will instantly get max 60% charge for one of Noctua's tome mod.
Unfortunately, it will not build 4 tome charges that way. Still, you can much easier maintain 2 tome charges. For me it's strength and ability efficiency. Duration not so important for Dante, and energy recharge can recharge only 50 energy in total.
Only 50 energy in total? That's only true if you're using an unranked Xata Invocation.
Either way, because you can refresh the Invocation and keep the full 10 stacks as long as you use the alt fire often enough, the total energy regeneration isn't really important. Xata Invocation gives 1 energy regen/s per stack for 20 seconds, with a maximum of 10 stacks- so that's a constant 10 energy/s as long as you keep the Invocation buff active.
I would also argue that duration is reasonably important on Dante, but only in the sense that it means needing to refresh your Final Verse buffs less often... so I would personally not use a buff I need to frequently refresh in order to have to refresh different buffs less often. That would be silly.
Lol, you right. For some bizarre reason i had it unranked.
It's not that bizarre, actually... the dots for the upgrade tiers on the mod card are easy to miss at rank 0. I made the same mistake when doing some theorycrafting a while back.
Well, i had everything else max ranked. Not sure why i left single tome mode unranked.
They gave him a signature weapon that doesn't match the "mage" theme and still doesn't have any interactions or bonuses with Dante... What a sadness.
Hes's talking about Ruvox (signatura weapon), not Noctua...
Ruvox isn't tied to Dante's mage theme- it's tied to his owl motif. They're supposed to be a pair of talons once you activate incarnon form.
Also, Noctua is incredibly good, as well as versatile, since there's a lot of very different ways to build around it that are reasonably viable, especially when you take Wordwarden into consideration.
What I don't understand is, if Ruvox doesn't have a unique perk when being used with Dante, why isn't Onos also considered to be a signature weapon of his? Like, they could have gone with "dante doesn't have any signature weapons" or "dante doesn't have unique benefits to equipping his signature weapons because (reasons) but you can get two weapons thematically tied to him from the same place his blueprint is obtained from and we're calling them signature weapons anyways", but for whatever reason, only Ruvox is """canonically""" a signature weapon of Dante. I find this baffling and care about it far more than I reasonably should.
I thought it was because they are already incarnon(I assumed) also I KNEW he looked like a great horned owl XD I was staring at his face and thought I saw that but I like owls a lot so thought it was mental bias'
I assume they were the only weapons DE had on hand and they simply gave it as Dante's signature weapon since they would be released in the same update. The mystery would then be the launch of Dante Prime and whether it will get a prime version or be replaced by other weapons.
