Ore Gaze is a Warframe Augment Mod for
Atlas that modifies
Petrify to cause enemies turned to stone to be scanned into the Codex and have a chance to make them drop extra loot.
Stats[]
| Rank | Loot Chance | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 10% | 6 |
| 1 | 15% | 7 |
| 2 | 20% | 8 |
| 3 | 25% | 9 |
Acquisition[]
- This mod can be acquired by attaining the rank of General under Steel Meridian, or the rank of Exalted under the Red Veil, and spending
25,000 to purchase.
Notes[]
- Extra loot chance is affected by Ability Strength; requiring 400% to achieve 100% chance of loot.
- The extra loot chance does not cause enemies to drop additional Rubble.
- Enemies must stay petrified for the chance at extra loot. If the enemy remains alive after the effects of Petrify expire it must be petrified again.
- If an enemy is fully scanned into the Codex, the extra loot drop can still occur.
- Enemies that have already been fully scanned into the Codex can not be scanned by Ore Gaze, making it an ineffective way to scan Kavats for their Genetic Codes.
- The mod also affects enemies petrified by
Path of Statues and Metamorphic Magazine. - Additional loot retrieval stacks with other loot abilities that loot while alive (
Ivara's
Prowl), loot on death (
Hydroid's
Pilfering Swarm,
Khora's
Pilfering Strangledome, and
Wukong's Monkey Luck passive), and loot corpse (
Nekros's
Desecrate and Chesa Kubrow's
Retrieve).
Maximization[]

Bugs[]
- As with the normal ability, heavy units like Grineer Heavy Gunners may resist petrification if line of sight is broken before fully petrified.
Patch History[]
Update 31.6 (2022-06-09)
- Fixed Atlas’ Ore Gaze Augment always applying at 20% even if you don’t have the Mod equipped.
Update 25.8 (2019-10-01)
- Warframe Looting Ability Changes
Warframe Loot Abilities will again be able to yield multiple-drops from already looted corpses. A single enemy can be looted by at most one Ability from each group - which is how it worked before, this just clarifies it. Warframe Looting Abilities have been split into separate functionality groups for clarity:
- Loot while alive: Ivara
- Loot petrified: Atlas
- Loot on death: Wukong, Khora, Hydroid. An enemy can only be killed once, they can’t ‘die’ multiple times.
- Loot corpse: Nekros, Chesa
These changes stem from a bigger conversation that was addressed yesterday regarding not providing closure on the Loot Frame changes from The Jovian Concord. All the information can be found here: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1131506-the-mod-booster-and-free-to-play/

Confused on how this exactly stacks with strangledome cuz it doesn't look like enemies caught get petrified
You can use this, strangledome or hydroid. can't stack em
Of course you can stack them, learn warframe.

That is incorrect, Patch notes and wiki clearly states that ore gaze does stack with Ivara, Khora, Hydroid, AND Nekros.
My only question is are petrified enemies also rooted and can't be pulled in by strangledome or does one have to apply ore gaze after they are in the dome already.
IT DOESNT GO ABOVE 100%, it shows in the abilities tab above but thats just a visual bug, it never goes above 100%, dont waste your time testing with a nidus
I was just about to try this. Thanks for the heads up.
Damn really? Never trust a fucking youtuber.
How did you find out it doesn't?
Goes over if over 400 strength
Does this work in par with Path of Statues? there would be no need for Petrify and should be the subsumed ability and still have 2 extra companions unless you use Titanic Rumbler but if so then great it should
So if you subsume Petrify the mod doesnt show up in your augments slot which is dumb imo, you should be able to use Ore Gaze with Path of Statues without needing Petrify(even though it says Petrify Augment i think theres some wiggle room if they do the same freaking thing)
Another note if you subsume over Landslide, Rubble Heap still shows up??? please fix the mentioned because its not making sense that itll show up but Ore Gaze wont
Rubble heap is atlas Passive augment. Not his 1st ability despite it effecting that.
Yeah so i just tested this for an hour with nekros farming oxium ospreys and can confirm everything works. slash creating another body part, desecrate double proc and ore gaze initial double. you can't get a double ore gaze from 2 body parts tho.
Are you still able to get it to work? I just tried it and even with Amalgam Ripkas True Steel petrified enemies only have 1 body part for Desecrate.
Did you ore gaze them first then spawn tentacles or the other way around (roughly, of course it's mostly chaos)?
Update 31.6 changed atlas gaze permanently additional 20% drop rate without mods right?
That doesn't sound right. Ore Gaze, the mod, adds 25% chance, which scales with ability strength.
Does this increase chance of energy orb drop?
Yes.
When did they nerf this to only 25%? iirc it was 50%
They nerfed it when they reworked Atlas and made his 3 instantly petrify, instead of having to channel it and slowly petrify enemies over 1-3 seconds.
Anyone know if its caped at 75 or can go higer with helmint?
Late, but still can say:
-Yes, it can go even higher, all up to 90% or even 100%
Lie.
god this mod + necros are stupid
According to the wiki, petrified enemies automatically break into pieces on death, similar to frozen enemies, and this works just as well as slashing enemies into pieces
Previously, Cold procs being on a target when they died would result in an ice statue, which could then be shattered into two parts to desecrate. Currently this no longer functions in game, and results only in a frozen torso that cannot be broken down further, and therefore can only be desecrated once.

Why are you talking about arbitration? steel path is where you farm..
The petrified do break apart when you use ripkas with amalgam mod.
EDIT: It was purely visual unfortunately. Same with the rumored Glaxion effect that creates "two corpses" in some ulterior way separate from Nekros' bisection effect. You can only get two drops.
Does it really stack with Pilfering Swarm/Dome? You can't petrify enemies in those, and mobs get un-petrified, once getting affected by them.
It's all because of the "Ragdolled" status, that Larvae also gives to the enemies, that's why it's better to implant khora's Ensnare into Atlas/anyone else, because it doesn't ragdoll. But do the Extra loot effects remain after un-petrifying? That's the real question.
Yeah, I don't trust this shit to work at all.
Enemies that you get caught in larva and then petrify still drop Rubble though
So, using the Helminth system, if you're going after a singular mob to farm something, like an Ash part from the manics or the special mods from the Amalgams in the labs, I think this is one of the best setups to farm stuff like that. You want:
-To put Petrify on Ivara and use Ore Gaze
-Build for as much strength as possible
-Bring a Chesa Kubrow
For me, I can comfortably bring my Ivara to around 393% strength, which puts me at 98.25% drop chance from Ore Gaze, plus 100% from Prowl, plus 45% from Chesa Kubrow, which totals to 243.25% drop chance, which per mob means you get 3 guaranteed rolls plus a 43.25% chance of a 4th.
I have yet to test this as I need to subsume Atlas still, but it seems like a fun thing to test and use to farm those pesky secret lab mods on Jupiter
EDIT: I think this is best done on Steel Path for the mod drop booster as well if you're looking for that.
EDIT 2: So I had to drop some strength in favor of getting energy comfortably, but results are good. Was able to farm a lot of secret lab mods using this, even got a bonus vengeful revenant from the Conculyst that spawns there

Build (Still needs some work): https://i.imgur.com/kWGGRJf.jpg
sounds cool, is it effective on steel essence drops?
I don't think it would be. Hypothetically, I think this is best done for enemies that spawn rarely like Manics, Jugs, Amalgams, etc. If you were running Steel Path solo for Essence, I think one of the most effective things is going to be a Nekros with Ore Gaze
That's not how stochastics work
Hi, just want to thank you for this idea.
I had a mod drop booster and decided to use the above combo.
Even with only 200% strength Ivara, I managed to get all the mods from the secret labs in 3-4 capture runs.
Does this works on Stalker?
No.
Do enemies I petrify with Path of Statues get affected by Ore Gaze's extra loot?
That means all the more to use with the 1 punch build with path of statues and rubble heap :D
but then you need 2 augment slots
That'd be three, actually. Rubble Heap and Path of Statues are separate augments.
Who cares it easily fits in 3 augments on atlas lol hell i could put 6 if i had the slots he only needs those 2 augments then he's golden for steel path
Does the scanning effect consume Codex scanner charges? Does a Codex scanner even need to be equipped, or is it just free?
Heliocor and Astral Autopsy specifically mention needing Codex scanners, so...
NO NEED FOR SCANNERS JUST PETRIFY AND PUNCH OR MAX OUT SIMARIS' SCANNER BRO
Does this work for farming Simaris rep?
If the enemy is fully scanned into codex, the extra loot drop still works.
Quite controversary to the description that specifies 'when killed' I must say. If that's not on death, I dunno what it is.
DE really needs to send its employees to Design and Grammar courses in that order.
So his skill still stacks with Nekros Desec. huh ....
someone in-game told me it wasn't working anymore. Which I thought was weird because they`re different mechanics.
Thanks for the info, next time I'm gonna run hyd. / atlas / nekros anyway ffs...
There were a few patches they weren't working together-- DE massively nerfed looting after the chesa exploit. They fixed it when they changed the loot mechanics to involve the specific states affected.
The worst farming frame in the game. Don't build Atlas this way. He needs a rework desperately his abilities are just shit like Inaros. But at least inaros has his meme hp build.
You're not entirely wrong, but you can use this in a nekros/hydroid team and get up to 3 additional loot
It's not like he's a liability plus he can build a wall
isn't inaros fine? he does his job of not dying very well especially with his full cc kit. i guess if you build him offensively for power and expect damage he wouldn't be super powerful, but i'm pretty sure the general consensus is that inaros is a good warframe
Almost every warframe can do the job of not dying. Inaros can do it beginner friendly, which is fine, but he doesn't bring much to the table with the conflicting ability requirements.
Of course Inaros is still gonna be tankier than Atlas but its not like Atlas is weak, especially with all Umbral mods. 1,8k health and 1,4k armor makes him quite beefy.
If I had to choose I would take Atlas any day of the week over Inaros, just because he has 3 abilities that I would use (Landslide, Petrify and Rumblers for some extra CC) while with Inaros I would only really use his Desiccation. I can see that some people like to use Scarab Swarm but honestly, considering how much health and survivability Inaros already has it feels such a pointless ability to use in the first place.
I feel like this will interfer with Nekros' Descecrate ability to get multiple drops from chopped up corpses. Does anyone know if it's worth bringing atlas AND nekros or is it better to just bring hydroid or khora?
Atlas is in a bad spot, to farm he needs strength range efficiency and can't dump duration for them. Even if you can manage that, he will be slower than Khora in resource farming, but if you were to farm endo in the arena, he is perfectly viable.
"extra loot chance is affected by ability strength" I AM DUMB FOR NOT USING THIS
Anyone know if this works on the silver grove specters?
It doesn't, it say so in their respective articles.
