Acquisition[]
Obtainable from the Arbitrations vendor in the Arbiters of Hexis room in Relays for 30
Vitus Essence.
Notes[]
- The bonus only applies to the Starting Energy of a Warframe when entering a mission and respawning/reviving from death.
- Starting Energy = Initial Energy + (5 × Free Mod Capacity) + (Total Energy × Mod Multiplier)
- Example: A rank 30
Wisp equipped with
Primed Flow has a Total Energy pool of 850 and a preset Initial Energy of 150. Let's say she has 9 Free (or available) Mod Capacity. When equipped with a rank 4 Preparation mod (+45%, or x0.45), the Warframe will have 150 + (5 * 9) + (850 * 0.45) = 577.5 Starting Energy. - Example 2: The same setup but with a rank 8 Preparation mod (+82%, or x0.82), the Warframe will have 150 + (5 * 9) + (850 * 0.82) = 892 Starting Energy. In this example, the surplus is effectively lost as it surpasses the 850 Max Energy cap.
- As per the second example, higher ranks of this mod are redundant.
- Between rank 4 and rank 6 of this mod, the increase seems to be around 9.5% instead of the linear 9% from other ranks. This makes a rank 5 Preparation actually grant a 54.5% bonus from Total Energy.
- This is because the max effect of this mod (100% of energy capacity filled) is not evenly divisible by 11 mod ranks. Mods do not display values in the decimal places.
- As
Harrow already spawns into missions with 100% starting energy because of his Passive, he has no need for this mod. - Does not work on Arenas (Index, Rathuum), not even when re-spawning after death.
- Falling out of bounds and reappearing does not count as spawning for the purposes of this mod.
Tips[]
- It's recommended at lower-than-max rank on Warframes with high Energy capacity and average Initial Energy.
- The bonus can apply to Sevagoth's Exalted Shadow each time he is summoned.
- If equipped on your Warframe the mod will apply to your Archwing's initial energy during Archwing missions.

Im going to put this on my Nezha so I can use a different Archon Shard(Tauforged Yellow).
This is an amazing mod for some niche cases:
Void fissure speedrun, or any speedrun mission
SO and ESO
Eidolon
Etc,...
Profit taker
In almost every warframe I forma exilus slot to fit this mod. It's just that amazing
It doesn't work in ESO.
It does now, they fixed it
I'm a dumbass and maxed out this mod
It seems kinda silly for something like this to be from the Arbitration vendor. Why would we/our characters be that far along before figuring out that coming with energy is as important as bringing ammo? I think it should just be a feature, but, second best would be if at least the mod was accessible sooner.
Who uses loki for spy missions lmao
This mod is useful for niche builds. i use it on titania and ivara for immediate prowl or razorwing or on gauss for very quick missions. Honestly it doesn't need to be used for more than that, imo. if you got this early game and got used to full energy at spawn, it would be a hard habit to break. I think it works in the role it has, which is quality of life for vets in niche circumstances.
Barely matters whether it's accessible soon or late in the game, since it's an auxiliary mod.
I somehow got this mod very early on (maybe trading? can't remember), and can confirm it is much more useful early game than late game. By the time you get to late game, you have so many more options for energy economy.
It's sort of nice qol but for any long mission it's both got far too much drain and is useless on any frame that isn't Sevagoth's Shadow. Energy isn't hard to come by and can easily be replaced by an energy pizza.
True it is replaced by an energy pizza, but it can be nice on frames that want to immediately toggle a chanelled ability and keep it active all mission, or for very quick missions.
Best mod for some voidfissures speedrun
For capture and rescue relic missions = must have. Saves you a minute on each run. Only downside is energy draining enemies. but that can be avoided especially if you are Titania (flying).
Fun fact. As of 24/4/2021, this mod works with Sevagoth's Shadow EVERYTIME it is casted. so, at least a very useful little mod
Added to the Tips section, I think this is quite a nice bit of info to know. For any Tenno, feel free to remove if this utility no longer works.
Mr30, own 10,000 of Large energy pads and still went ahead and bought this mod for speedruns.
A - no regrets
B - Was surprised to see energy refilled after respawn from death.
Its nice. No more waiting for energy at the start of a mission with your energy intense frame, also as you said if you die, you get full energy again. It's deffo a nice mod to have on some builds.
T r a s h
This mod is only useful on Titania(Titania Prime) Razorwing when doing Mastery Rank 10 to Rank 13.
Other then that I can't find any other use for this mod.
Ivara...
Primed Flow plus preparation will allow you to complete an entire mission without caring about energy at all. Depends on mission
RAILJACK WOULD LIKE A WORD
"Does not work on Arenas (Index, Rathuum), not even when re-spawning after death."
Oof, this was the first thing I have in mind when I saw where the mod would be kinda useful.
I should point out that it's probably not a good idea to max this because the % it gives you is actually in addition to your normal starting energy.
Why does that make it not a good idea to max it?
The first bullet point under the Notes section explains what OP is saying.
I use this mod more and more often now. Shaving 40 seconds of energy gathering off the front end of every mission is a big deal when we sprint through most stuff in 3 minutes anyway. It's additive with the starting energy you get from being under mod capacity so rank 8/10 gets me to 100 percent on most builds.
THIS. 1000X this. Others in the thread dont get it.
Oh man, this would have been pretty much the best and only reason to use it.
This has to be considered a bug i HOPE, as i had that reset in mind to just dish out all my cd's on new zone <.<
Fixed. Now it restores energy inbetween zones.
Unfixed. Now it doesn't restore energy inbetween zones again, i mean come on!
Warframes should start with max energy from jump come on DE.
IKR, who goes into battle underequipped? we start with max ammo and health/shield as well...
Agreed.
What is with that weird math? It could just give you full energy like the mod SAYS IT DOES and it would still be terrible.
The mod does not say it provides full energy, it states "+100% energy" not "100% energy". This means it provides 100% more of your starting energy value.
De is trolling us with this garbage mod.
The fact it's an exilus is what makes it worthwhile. I use it on Protea, because she doesn't start with enough energy to drop Dispensary even with Steamline.
I use this for ivara when i level things, but maybe I'd use it w chroma for PT since I despise dropping pads. It will all be solved when DE releases exilus forma - thats really one we need, esp w p sure footed and just being able to swap in other things.
I thought that we could start the mission with full energy, that would be really useful, it cost 12 space capacity lol, its easier just to use some energy plates, that is a huge lost opportunity and an even bigger NOPE for me.
u actually start with full energy, it may be not clear but u have full energy
Cant believe no one is talking about the fact this pairs well with a primed flow, QT, health converstion, and equilibrium setup... easy just avoid magnetic procs
It is not redundant? Preparation just makes it so that a higher percentage of the Warframe's max energy pool is filled up on spawn. In other words, Preparation scales well with Primed Flow since you get more energy at the start of the mission.
You must be a troll, this mod is utter garbage!
You must be a bit special if you don't get the point of a mod called "Preparation".
Hint: The point is in the name.
You prepare for faster missions, as you do not have to care about energy at all. More often than not, full energy is enough for most non-endless missions, and Zenurik/Energy Restores can not restore your energy when you already have a toggle ability active.
I would rather slap +15% strength into that slot. For 12 drain this indeed stupid.
