Best way to level melee weapons solo?

Hi,
Just a random thought I had while I was leveling some secondary weapons yesterday.
How is everyone leveling their melee weapons? I haven't leveled a melee weapon in ages. Last time I did it was, hop into hydron and grind it out. I know we have ways to level our guns solo now, but I'm just wondering if anyone has found a similar method for melee.

You make a fair point. I actually haven't tried it yet. I'll try it my usual way and ESO and see how they compare
The best two things are:
ESO: If there is a nuke in the team, ~2 rounds will get your weapon maxed even without affinity booster. Without a nuker, but with a full squad of people actually killing stuff, it shouldn't take over 6. Now, I do recommend taking a supporter/buff/weapons platform frame, to support a nuker if there is, or to make yours and other's weapons stronger if there isn't. Do remember exp distributions, for assists you get 25% to frame and 75% split among equiped weapons; for kills with abilities you get 100% to frame; for kills with weapons 50% goes to frame and 50% to the weapon that got the kill.
Stealth Killing: This is the only competitive alternative to ESO. If you don't have a nuke carry you, it is faster. Properly done it takes 1 run of like 4mins to max a weapon, or around 1 and a half runs if you lose buff several times. How does it work? When enemies have not detected you and die, they give you a 100% affinity bonus, that stacks 5x. If an enemies detects you, you lose the buff. The strategy generally used involves a Savage Silence banshee with gloom subsumed. Savage silence allows for stealth kills on stunned enemies and makes your weapons silent, while gloom's slow severely increases the stun to make sure you get to kill everything. I'd like to add to choose Naramon focus school if you have access to it already. If not, please forget.
I just level stuff on Helene. Just use the melee weapon more than anything else. Boosters always help.
I usually have fun with it, build it into a faction specific dmg type and then go on a high level Sp survival or disruption with naramon focus school. Not efficient in a manner of going faf, but enjoyable and let's you get a good feel for the weapon.

Probably Elite Sanctuary Onslaught, put on public it gives a lot of xp, basically replaces hydron once you can handle it. I also just find it more fun than stealth killing things

If you have Helminth to use, you can make weapon / focus leveler Warframe by giving your preferred Warframe either silence or rest / rage abilities.
This is by far fastest way to level your weapons. Just run extermination mission with your Warframe and stealth kill everyone.
